The Media Relations Specialists will report to the Head of Media, support the pitching team and serve the Sales team to facilitate revenue growth and delivery of quality results.

- Develop a pre-tour and post-tour summary outlining outlets booked and changes made during tour and send out internally to others in several departments

Job description:
This position will offer a wealth of experience and knowledge in a real-life, local newsroom. Applicants will have a healthy portfolio of both magazine and newspaper clips upon completion of their internship. Interns will report to the Cobb Life Magazine Editor and Northside Neighbor News Editor Skyler Heath.
Assignments and duties will range across beats, including: assist in the writing and coordination of feature stories for Cobb Life Magazine; cover events, businesses and other general assignments as a reporter for Northside Neighbor, a weekly newspaper covering Buckhead and Sandy Springs; write breaking news stories; learn how to submit open records requests for police/fire reports and court documents; shadow the editor on professional photoshoots and interviews; opportunities to pitch stories to the editor.
Times and schedules are flexible for this position. Applicants should expect to work at least 15 hours a week (a mix of working remote and in-person at the MDJ office in Marietta).
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be in their junior or senior year of college and pursuing a media/journalism degree.
