Alpha Phi Sigma is the only accredited honor society in criminal justice.

Dedicated to fostering analytical thinking, academic excellence, ethical leadership, and service among students and professionals in the field.

The mission of Alpha Phi Sigma is to promote analytical thinking, rigorous scholarship, and lifelong learning; to keep abreast of the advances in scientific research; to elevate the ethical standards of the criminal justice professions; and to sustain in the public mind the benefit and necessity of education and professional training

Promoting academic excellence through the recognition of scholarship

Encouraging greater communication among member chapters and the entire criminal justice profession

Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes the academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of criminal justice, as well as Juris Doctor students
The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity
Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society, is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences
