► Active bodies, active minds! Wellstar’s new kinesthetic classroom steps up student engagement. KSU’s first kinesthetic classroom, where students engage in motion activities during class. The idea, supported by an increasing amount of research, is that keeping the body active helps stimulate the mind and enhance learning. ► Two Wellstar researchers are exploring potential exercise interventions for slowing the progression of and the treatment of Type 2 diabetes. Professors Dr. Brian Kliszczewicz and Dr. Robert Buresh have received a three-year, $380,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study the effectiveness of a novel high-intensity bodyweight circuit training regimen that offers a more time-conscious path to treat and manage Type 2 diabetes.
