M. Rasel Mahmud

M. Rasel Mahmud

Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Director of eXtended Reality and intelligence (XRei) Lab at Kennesaw State University | XR (AR/VR/MR) | Human-Centered Computing | AI

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Director of the eXtended Reality and Intelligence (XRei) Lab at Kennesaw State University. My research lies at the intersection of extended reality (XR), human-centered computing, and artificial intelligence, focusing on XR applications in healthcare, accessibility, safety, privacy, and security.

My research is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, including a prestigious NSF Medium Grant, through which I lead core research on adaptive auditory feedback to enhance balance in virtual reality across home and outdoor environments.

My research works have been published in leading journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), IEEE VR, IEEE ISMAR, ACM VRST, and ACM ASSETS, earning recognition, including an Honorable Mention Award.

I aim to enhance immersive experiences, revolutionize user interactions, and drive innovation across various domains of XR through the use of Artificial Intelligence.

Nafisa Anjum

Nafisa Anjum

I am a security researcher and Graduate Research Assistant at the Extended Reality and Intelligence Lab in the Department of Computer Science at Kennesaw State University. My work centers on the security and privacy of immersive systems, particularly Extended Reality (XR) applications in healthcare, where I develop systematic frameworks to uncover, categorize, and mitigate emerging threats.
