I bought another car and phone them up to change to my new car and was told by a foreign person that they dont change to another car!! I said all car insurances change to other cars!! She said not us!! So i changed to another car insurance company!! Then rang geoffrey car insurance the next day to be told by a english person that they do change!! Gutted that i was told alie and had to pay £120 deposit to new company and a £60 fee to them!!

Absolutely awful experience.
I was in a crash 3 days ago, completely not my fault, and my insurance company promised a hire car the very next morning. I’ve now spent three days waiting, making 12 phone calls back and forth between them and Enterprise. Enterprise repeatedly said they hadn’t received anything. My insurer kept insisting they had sent the details — but they clearly hadn’t.
The staff have been completely unhelpful, no urgency, no ownership, and no solution.
I will be changing my insurance provider as soon as this claim is dealt with. The service has been shockingly poor.
To top it off, the man who hit me had his insurance sort me a car within 20 minutes of calling them.
Unbelievable.
This company seriously needs to review how it handles customers in situations like this.

Cancelled my insurance without telling me, or for any reason why within 2 weeks of taking out my insurance. No contact no emails. I could have lost my license. Rediculous, and I still do not know as to why.

Have been insured with them this past year, decided to sell my current car and upgrade. Wanted to stay with them but was told they couldn’t insure me, no explanation given. Been driving 40 plus years no claims, no driving offences etc. Was then informed that it was going to cost me £60 to cancel! I didn’t want to cancel! Avoid

My experience with Geoffrey Insurance has been extremely distressing. What should have been a straightforward process has turned into nine months of stress, poor communication and little support, with two of three personal injury claims remaining unsettled
The experience has related in my having to raise two formal complaints. One response didn’t address the issues, and the second is due by 8 December but I have little confidence based on their handling so far.
The only substantive reply I received stated I owed money because, despite writing off my car, they did not cancel my policy. Geoffrey wrote:
> “We’re unable to cancel your policy following a claim without your authorisation… As we received no contact from you requesting for the policy to be cancelled, the monthly instalments were deducted as normal.”
Expecting a customer to cancel a policy on a vehicle the insurer has declared a total loss is unreasonable and shows poor processes.
Our family has had no meaningful support. One child now needs EMDR therapy after nine months of nightmares, flashbacks and severely disrupted sleep. Both children have required private counselling, and only one of three personal injury claims has been settled.
Communication has been inconsistent or absent throughout. I expected care, clarity and professionalism from an insurer. Sadly, that has not been our experience. I would advise others to consider this carefully before choosing Geoffrey Insurance.
