My car was insured with Dial Direct from December last year. It was really easy to set up and at a good price, however if you are planning on moving house, do not go with Dial Direct! I moved in March and they quoted me £3503 for the year. Bearing in mind 3 months had already passed in my insurance. The monthly amount they quoted was £332.26. I was originally paying £64 a month. As you can imagine this caused a lot of stress as I could not move in the end, due to the amount they wanted to charge.I couldn't wait for my policy to end so I could change companies.

Terrible company, forgot to register a acciedent i was involved in so they cancelled my insurance, been driving for nearly 40 years no accidents and treated this way

In all my days, I have never come across such poor Customer Service. If I could leave less than one star, I would.
Easy to join and get Insurance, yet within 24 hours I receive a notification to make contact. I go to make contact:
Their chat service is none existent.
Their telephone line you are on hold for OVER AN HOUR with NO indication of wait times.
You FINALLY get through to be told to call back either later or on another day as they are having issues!?
You email them and state because of their poor customer service you wish to take your business elsewhere and request a refund within the cooling off period,
Nothing.
I am now hundreds out of pocket as I have indeed gone elsewhere to get my insurance. No sign of any refund or communication.
Let’s hope someone is actually reading this in their company so they can take action. I really, really doubt it though.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You get what you pay for I guess. Lesson learnt - don’t go for the cheapest. Wished I’d done more research before wasting money with these cowboys.

incredibly deceitful. Used a comparison website for finding low cost car insurance. I went through the policy details for dialdirect.co.uk. I found the
£60 cancellation fee rather high compared to others. I was used to it being £30 to £40 with other car insurance policies. There was also a whole host of other fees. I went through it although some seemed high it would have been a small chance of ever occurring a fee as I planned to keep the car insurance for the full year.
About two third of the year through I sold my car. I called dialdirect.co.uk to let them know that I was no longer the owner of the vehicle and did not require the car insurance anymore. This where I fully regret being with dialdirect.co.uk. For almost an hour I was back and forth with heavy accent customer service representatives. Whom repeatedly said I must pay a £60 cancellation and an additional £45 intermediary fee. This is £105 I'd have to pay to cancel the remainder of my insurance. After many hour going back and forth about the wording used in their documents and asking for an escalation. For me and the simple manor at which understood the feeds in the policy documents. A cancel fee of £60 is all that is stated to cancel insurance. Charging an additional £45 for amending the policy to cancel policy is not correct.
After making an official complaint. The result was, I had to keep the insurance policy live to save money, it would cost me more than the remaining insurance. I protested this as I felt it is wrong to have insurance for property I do not own.
Next issue, they have automatically renewed my insurance policy and ignored my passed request for this not to happen. I was also promised no renewal on the phone during the previous compliant.
Still to this day I believe they are wrong to add multiple fees to together. This is not clear or written plainly written in their documents.
3rd issue. I have made 3 calls to them today. First caller heard me ok but had to put me through to someone else. "2nd person mid speaking put me on mute or disabled their call. For me, sounded as if I was on mute.
2nd call, couldn't get through to a person, endless loop on the options and confirming date of birth.
3rd call, caller kept saying they could not hear me.
I've call other businesses before and after the calls to this company and these were okay. It is only dial direct having an issue hearing me on phone. This only came up after I mentioned why I was calling. They heard me provide my name okay.
In my experience with dialdirect.co.uk, they are happy and easy to create an insurance payment for your money, but when you need them, they are incredibly difficult to deal with. This has been an out of the originally experience for me, as I have not experienced this with other car insurance companies.

It took simply ages for you to tell me the cost of cancellation with your operator going off the phone numerous times. Surely it is quite a simple thing as we are two weeks from the policy commencement.
