About this journal
Metaphysics is an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal publishing current research in the field of metaphysics. It is administered by the Metaphysics Collaborative, an international organization founded in 2015 whose purpose is to facilitate collaboration among metaphysicians worldwide. The journal focuses on contemporary and historical metaphysical topics that engage with themes from the Aristotelian and neo-Aristotelian traditions. Articles can be submitted at any time; those received after the cut-off date for the current issue will automatically be considered for publication in future issues.
Submissions outside the scope of any of the journal’s current CFPs will also be considered.

Call for Papers: Games and the Social World
We invite submissions on the topic of “Games and the Social World” for a special
issue of the open-access, peer-reviewed, online journal, Metaphysics, co-edited by Kathrin Koslicki and Michael Raven (http://www.metaphysicsjournal.com). The guest-editors for this issue are Alexandre Declos and Maryam Ebrahimi Dinani (University of Neuchâtel).

"Essence and Modality" at 30
This issue collects four articles on themes from Kit Fine's influential article "Essence and Modality" as well as replies to each from Fine. Ancestors of the articles and replies were originally presented at a symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of the publication of "Essence and Modality" at the American Philosophical Association Pacific Division meeting in Portland in 2024.
