Closing my account with no notification before nor after

I was a customer with Rabo bank for over 12 years. Recently due to the personal questions i was required to answer to keep my 'savings account' open, i decided not to answer the questions & gave Rabo bank 60days notice for my 60day notice saver. I learn a week later by looking at my bank account i have with another bank, they had closed my account that same day i gave notice & transferred my funds to another bank i have an account with, without giving me any notification.
Their way of apologising for their error was offering me pittence for the amount of time i spent trying to resolve and the inconvenience they caused me.
I walked away. Had spent to much time trying to resolve with the bank & was over being insulted and to accept their offer i would've been insulting myself. I no longer have the history of my banking due to their error of closing my account before our agreed arrangement.

Rabobank internet access without codes via smartphone

Been with Rabobank for some time. Rabo want to change everyone to codes via smartphone (not for us for a number of reasons) Finally, Rabobank have advised that there is another way to log on and have issued us with an "electronic token") This changes 6 digits each minute. Takes a call to get it set up, but, once going it's similar to old Digipass. It replaces digipass for the future.
Rabobank are hiding this information and it should be available / known to ALL customers wanting internet banking access without codes via smartphones.

ghosting from rabo

rabo has given me a deadline of 31st October, unable to view my accounts after that cutoff unless I get a smartphone and download their app.I think they should offer an option to close your accts without penalty if you don't want to go that road.

Nothing but good service

Never had an issue with them being an urban TD investor. Their Token 2FC is now old school, but is up for replacement using a 2nd personal device.

I have been with Rabobank for over a…

I have been with Rabobank for over a year now, and here is my experience.

They are an overseas owned bank, yes they are a bank and have a A credit rating. they offer above average interest rates, but they are very hard to deal with as a depositor.

The expectations are that online customers know their systems, and please dont feel you can call their call centre and get assistance for they are trained to be nice to the Farming community, and seagull on depositors.

People come to organisations not just for the rates, but for the ease of service and confidence, and Im sorry but this place falls short on the last 2.

I now have a considerable amount of investment monies available which I didn't used to have, and I can see the subtle difference between borrowing institutions.

Can you believe it, when I asked about why changed the terms of a notice saver account with 6 days notice, they sent me instructions on how to close the account, so guess what!!! thats what I am doing now. As the term investments expire, I am moving the money to other avenues, for I am not a Farmer, and they clearly dont want the amount of money I was investing. Its interesting that as the investments expire I am sent email instructions on how to reinvest. gosh they are silly for who do you think set them up in the first place and yes I can read, but thats their system and every spammy email gets put into a spammy place and I continue with my process.

I have given them 2 stars not for the service for there wasnt any, as long as I can read instructions I can get by with them. But they did do what they said with regards to the investments, but then they should as that is what was agreed.

If you choose Rabobank, dont have high expectations and you wont be disappointed. They set the bar low for service especially if you are not a Farmer. I dont need to be reminded of that fact, neither do others. If you use them for their rates, just dont expect much resource to assist unless you
fib and say you are growing something for sale, then they may listen.
What I could have given them is valuable insight into how they are against other borrowers, but their internal teachings and staff interactions have meant that I wont go out of my way to assist and I normally do.

An anomaly for their IT platform

Ok to setup for saver and term deposit, once you go through the process - approx. 21 days. Try transferring money out to your nominated bank account and get customer support response on the case if it doesn't work. After 10 e-mails, 4 days and 2 international phone calls, it's finally going to the IT Department. But I still don't know if that's a fix...

Hopeless.

Hopeless.

Spent a week trying to open a term deposit. You have to deposit funds without the ability to see if the transfer has gone through successfully. To see your account you need a digipass (a type of early 2000s two factor authenticator token) that is posted to you. Having finally received the digipass, it doesn't work and just says there is a 'technical error'.

I have emailed several times asking to return my funds and close the account, but their client services do not address anything you ask, they just follow a script, I think it might just be a bot email generator. My advice is don't use Rabobank despite their tempting term deposit rates.
