Hi i have experienced very un human behaviour from saga emergency breakdown cover axa insurance lsst week my boiler no hot water rang saga breakdown over 1 hour before they answered said would be sorted 5 hrs later no response. Rang agai spoke to noah was very good but said couldn't find no one to come offered hotel but we disabled ♿ need special needs we over 55 living special place for disabled bathroom ect said he get someone out asap contract manager Monday comes no onevsaid be Tuesday yes Durham electrician put it right be complain to axa offered me 50 pound? Well tight arse would have cost 100s in hotel? So 4 days no hot water electric bill sky high. Disgusting 🤢 company saga customer service

Quote changed mid-journey .. went up 5% by payment time!
Upon entering my details for a quote, I got a premium of £397 for house insurance. So I agree to buy it, and worked through the pages to get to the payment stage - I changed NOTHING, not one full stop during that journey! At the point of payment, the premium magically became £420.02! What? You give me a quote and two minutes later you change it without reason?? At the very least this is fraud, at worst it's.....? Now, rather than cut off my nose to spite my face, I paid the £420, because it was still competitive and I need the insurance obviously. This means that I am not unhappy about the price, just the principle of the sneaky, underhand way in which the increase was imposed. I called their 'helpline' to ask the reason and was greeted after a multi-minute wait by someone in Delhi or wherever, who hadn't got a clue. I have my insurance but I feel cheated. Grrrr...

Very poor service
Three long phone calls to try and resolve an issue, and despite a promise that someone would phone me back no one has. I was assured policy premium would not be claimed until matter resolved, and payment has been taken without my permission!
This has now escalated to a formal complaint. The last person I spoke with was very pleasant and said a manager would phone me back, so I’m waiting for that now.

The agent from Saga,Simone, was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. She explained everything very clearly and was professional and also friendly.

What I dislike is the price increase as the previous 3years I had not made a claim I am already shopping around money is tight I am a old age pensioner my concerns are how easy it would be to make a claim should my needs arise

Insurance good - IT systems crap
I got car insurance with Saga in July They sent a link to 'Mysaga' portal for the documents. I couldn't access my account to download the documents. I reported this. Didn't hear anything, then forgot about following up. Today I needed to call the recovery service and without the documents I didn't even know which company it was, RAC, AA etc. I spoke to the customer service helpline and all they could do was email me a link to the Mysaga portal. So I am waiting 4-6 days for the documents ariiving in the post. Oh dear - technology is great until it isn't - apparently if you have computer security (VPN etc.) Mysaga doesn't work. So a warning!
Now just found out that despite paying £60 for breakdown cover, the RAC (which customer support tells me I now have) haven't heard of me. So total disaster of an experieince with these people.

Had another go to get a competitive car…
Had another go to get a competitive car insurance quote from Saga as I am an older driver. Sadly yet again they have been by far the most expensive quote out of a number of providers. It appears that the staff are great but the prices are not so much.

I was very pleased to find that two years in a row saga has dropped the price off my car insurance and they answered any questions I asked so I didn’t even bother looking around just stayed with them

Probably okay until you need them!
We have been so disappointed with Saga. We had a new medical condition occur which was being investigated since the annual policy was taken out and rather than be reasonable and look at the evidence or the risk, they wouldn’t cover me for cancellation of any reason totally unrelated to the potential medical condition, however minor, as it obviously needed investigating. A prudent individual would not ignore a medical condition. Our travel operator and other insurance companies we have spoken since have been shocked. Saga seem to put you all in the same bucket and even with speaking directly with their underwriters, didn’t treat me as an individual with evidence provided on the investigation (which was just to be sure vs guess) They could choose to make a more reasonable decision on cancellation cover. We paid privately in the end to speed out medical review to ensure we could be covered, but the whole experience has been stressful and honestly, I would not trust Saga in the future. We were at no more a risk of cancellation cover for anything outside of the undiagnosed medical condition than we were before we took the policy out, but they would not cover other possibilities ie. Illness of a dependent or parent, breaking a leg ie nothing linked to the medical condition.itself. This made no sense at all and it has impacted our trust of Saga should we ever needed to claim. We will go elsewhere for cover. now we can!
