Notice the similarities in url- anyone would get confused.
My friend and I were confused but when I realised the con, barely 24 hrs later and tried to cancel the transaction , they were going to charge us 15% of the transaction (90€ x 2) and keep the handling fee (40€ x 2) for DOING NOTHING. It was only when I got stern and threatened that I would get my lawyers involved that they returned the 15%. Then when I got a consumer org involved, they finally returned the handling fee.

I had a terrible experience with JR…
I had a terrible experience with JR Pass (jrailpass.com) and want to warn others.
I purchased my Japan Rail Pass on August 6, 2025, based on their guarantee of 24–48 business hours delivery, as clearly stated on their website. My trip started on August 9, so timing was crucial.
After placing the order, I contacted them multiple times when I realized the delivery was delayed. I even asked to change the delivery address to my hotel in Tokyo, and at first they told me it was possible (with an extra fee), but in the end they did NOTHING. They simply shipped to my home in Italy knowing I would already be in Japan.
The pass arrived in Italy after I had already left, making it completely useless. Their solution? Send photos of the unused vouchers for a refund. Which I could only do after returning home, weeks later. Even worse, they keep 15% of the amount because I didn’t buy insurance, which is absurd because the delay was THEIR fault, not mine.
Customer support has been unresponsive for weeks. I’ve sent multiple emails, including all required pictures, and still no refund or confirmation. This company’s service is completely unreliable, and they do not take responsibility for their mistakes.
Do not trust their delivery guarantee. If your travel dates are close, buy elsewhere or in person.

Don’t bother, use the official site
This company is a complete waste of time and you should absolutely just use the official site. My friends and I ordered our passes well in advance of our trip with this company because others had used it before to save money prior to the price hikes in October 2023. Half of our passes are currently being held in customs because of a clearance issue (whether that’s from the company’s fault or FedEx’s I am unsure). When the company was reached out to multiple times, they either don’t respond or reply with a form email response telling you to call Fedex. This process isn’t even cheaper than the official ticket, plus they charge a $50 handling fee on top of everything. Horrific customer service, expensive prices, and added stress
Save yourself the headache: use the official site and avoid jrailpass.com if at all possible

All around Japan with one ticket
First thing to know is that a foreigner must buy the JRP when at home, not when he/she arrives in Japan. This means some extra charge depending on the travel agency that manages the ticket. We received our tickets in a three days time. But I would order it at least ten days before. Remember to write down the passenger name exactly as is reported in the passport. Once in Japan you can use this ticket in almost all the trains, only for the fastest ones, like Nozomi, a small difference is due. Remember also that many trains have reserved places, to book them is sufficient to go to the closest station (I never tried to do it online). This ticket allows also to take the Yamanote line (around Tokio) and some ferries. Once in Japan, buying a rechargeable card like Welcome Suika card will let you travel on all public transports, and even buy goods in many convenience stores.

This company is a scam!!!
This company is a scam. They are a third party vendor, a travel agency that misrepresents themselves. I purchased 2 tickets, received no responses to my emails, and when I realize the voucher I needed wouldn’t deliver within the timeframe promised I requested a refund per the instructions on their website. That email bounced. Their customer service phone number listed on their website doesn’t work. This is fraud on so many levels. They finally offered to refund me 85% of what I paid minus service fees. Buyer beware, buy direct from japan rail pass d0t c0m and avoid these con artists.

JR need more digitisation

This is far from satisfactory as many other operators have provide digital ticket with passport identification. The existing process is costly and inconvenient for tourists.
