I am a Diamond member on Trip.com and regularly book expensive long-haul tickets for our company.
This time we booked a British Airways ticket London–Cincinnati via Trip.com (price almost €2,000 – see screenshots).
British Airways has a 24-hour cancellation policy for direct bookings, so if I had booked this ticket on ba.com I could simply cancel it in “Manage booking” and get a full refund.
Because the ticket was issued through Trip.com, BA told me they cannot cancel it and that only Trip.com as the agency can handle the refund.
The problem: Trip.com support is practically unreachable.
* The in-app chat bot never connects you to a real agent – it just loops.
* There is no simple self-service option to cancel this booking under the 24-hour policy.
* We emailed Trip.com more than 2 hours before departure asking to cancel the ticket – no reply at all.
* British Airways chat confirmed again that, because it was booked via Trip.com, they can’t process the cancellation on their side.
So now, because Trip.com does not provide working customer service or a proper cancellation option, we are at risk of losing almost €2,000 for a ticket that should be refundable if booked directly with the airline.
For a Diamond member this is extremely disappointing. It now feels much safer to book directly with airlines, where you can manage and cancel bookings yourself without depending on an unresponsive intermediary.
**Trip.com, please review this case urgently, cancel the British Airways ticket and issue a full refund. All screenshots and email timestamps can be provided.**

Used for awhile, was all good until a shocking experience now. Diamond member and only benefit I use is lounge passes. Booked two international flights specifically because I had lounge passes and wanted to level up my loyalty. Now both lounge passes have been cancelled with no explanation, and chat refuses to actually help, giving poor scripted responses and not actually reading what I've said. Will avoid in future.

Wife got seriously sick so cannot fly, and no change/no refund.
Angry :(

There was a slight delay with connection but otherwise everything went according to plan. Unable to have a hot drink due to a problem on board train which was disappointing on both outward and return journey.

Always familiar to use trip.com for my bookings.
