They hung up on me rather than help me...

I experienced the worst call ever with this bank. The lady who was supposed to help me solve my online access issues talked to me like I was a 5-yeasr old, half-laughing at me because I was a bit lost with what she was asking me. When I asked her calmly to be kinder and stop being aggressive with me, she climbed on her high horses and hung up on me. It is hard enough to manage your French accounts as an expat. We don't need that kind of behaviour. I am seriously considering leaving this bank, even if it means additional charges. Outrageous behaviour! Fortunately, a second person I called was kinder and helped me. However this is not my first misadventure with this bank, so enough is enough !

BAD BANK COMPANY KEEP AWAY!!

Everything goes wrong with this bank.
You always get the feeling that you should be greatfull that they accept you as a client. They are amateurs. Also "La Poste mobile" is a disarter. Both have cost me a fortune, with no satisfiyng customer service, lying and stealing money of my account. Keep away of this company.

Please don’t sign up with them

Please don’t sign up with them. Horrible customer service, lack of knowledge of their own products. Don’t waste your time. The level of incompetence is beyond me

Fraudulent and utterly indifferent

Fraudulent and utterly indifferent. La Banque Postale is shockingly bad- do not give them your money under any circumstance. My husband opened an account because the branch was local. He went in to talk about a loan to upgrade his scooter. The manager suggested a Platinum Credit Card and helped him apply. The card arrived and my husband took it with him on a holiday. On the way home he thought to use the card to buy a gift in the airport. The card did not work so he paid by cash. On getting home he went straight into the La Poste branch and reported the card did not work. The manager told him not to worry - he would call head office and sort it out. This is when hell started. The manager actually closed my husbands account - which meant he had no way of getting a statement or any fraud help. He then started getting calls about paying back the €16,000 that had been spent on his card. The manager asked for the card back - but at this point my husband was suspicious - and he kept it to prove he had not mislaid it. The calls came almost every day asking for payment of the money spent. When he asked for a statement to show where the money was spent - they said it would cost €50 because the account was closed. He paid - but the statement never arrived. THIS IS AN INSIDE FRAUD. The card limit was €8000 but immediately it was in debt to €16,000. That is not possible normally - credit cards are usually very jumpy with large payments and call to do security check. My husband was never called to make sure the payment was legitimate. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM. I am quite sure its happened before- they know exactly how to disable the customer and walk off with a years salary. We have suffered all over Christmas with debt collectors harassing. The only saving grace is he has never had any issues before with a bank or card and did not use this card. But all our requests for help from the branch and head office got nowhere. So its a long road to court. There is no fraud person to contact to stop these staff doing it again.

sttill operating as a gang of soviet fonctionnaires

expatriated in Singapore for over 25years, i left my father in charge with a hand written procuration to act on my behalf, that was accepted by his historical advisorlike forever. then comes a new rogue yahoo advisor who declares the historical procuration was only accepted in goodwill before, but longer is no way= i need to show up "in person at their damned agency from Singapore to get a computer document filled in
here i go to the French consulate in Singapore to have somethingformally signed anew and dully stamped. but no. not acceptable either nor whatever my father can get with that from his local notary office: nothing is receivable . i just must come over from Singapore !!
try escalate to management at la banque postale agency: nada. no one is available even if my 85years old father tries the drill for me!!!
try writing emails:. nada, the yahoo only wants to consider the antiquated secured messagery on line
no plain email will do !
he won't answer the phone no escalation network you can find online.to LaBanque Postale customer service if it exists
ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE,MINDSET just like when they were PTT and the worst renowned civil servants gang of france
Petit Travail Tranquile; obviously they missed their cultural revolution to grow from fonctionnaire to private sector bankers !!!

5 STARS FOR BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have lived in France for 25 years now and acknowledge how bad customer service can sometimes be here. But this bank is the epicentre of bad customer service. They must train their staff to be totally incompetent, there is no other way? 5 stars for that… Why should anyone wait 4 weeks to do a basic bank transfer? This is unbelievable…. Also, when you telephone this bank to speak to an advisor, it’s like trying to talk to a clueless child. Anyway, I will be closing my savings account with you, and I highly recommend anyone else reading this does the same.

I used LaBankPostal for 40 years until they 'woke'.

I used this bank for forty years. Lately the "not appropriate" people arrived and as there are no longer any normal men there in the local branch it has been a disaster to deal with. Three other friends have also been harassed with demands for documents. Last month after I asked the employees (who refused to even give their names) for the address of the headquarters to complain about them, they "closed" my account, thus I look for alternatives here. I can't pay my monthly bills nor even receive any incomes. Shocking to see how many others have had the same experience - it's as if they DELIBERATELY are crashing their own bank!

I have the worst experiences with this…

I have the worst experiences with this bank and all it’s branches. I hate them with my guts and if I wasn’t obliged to have a physical account I would’ve closed it a long time ago. I am currently looking for another bank.
Recently I was expecting a call from the advisor to juste validate sending me another card but she took a week and didn’t call so I went there between my busy schedule. She said she was very busy and I said “for a week?!” She didn’t like that and was jumping around annoyed about my comment saying as if she didn’t have to justify not calling me and I said it’s a valid question, because I have to pay my Rent beginning of the month and they just take electronic payement. She referred me to her colleague who I knew she wouldn’t be able to help me because I went through they last week. Her colleague was suggesting I’ll go to another branch and I unloaded on them all the issues I was having with their poor mediocre services. Not only it took me 8 month to cancel the card Premier and after I canceled it they were taking their time to order me a new card. Their insurance isn’t useful, their card premier isn’t useful neither so don’t let them trick you into getting them. They still managed to charge me for irregularities for almost 30 dollars then they added another charge recently just for the hell of it and their service via message is mediocre when you try to complain.
I am not calling their service to add to my phone bill to end up not achieving anything. Can you imagine ? You have to pay to get in touch with them.
Do they realize that they’re are working with our money ?!
I can’t wait to lose them.

The worst bank I have been with...

This bank is the worst I have ever dealt with. I opened this account to receive my salary every month at my job in France. Biggest regret I have ever made. Not only do they over charge to have a running account with them, they also charge for 'irregularities and errors' which they enforce on their own and takes an additional 25euros from your hard earned peanuts these days. And then you make a loan and try to send money to pay for it per month, but because I left the country and moved away, I can't access my new card in order to pay the one bill I have with them and then send me bills with penalties to pay on top of that because I have to be there in person to change my phone number or de-activate the certicode. This bank is a joke. Once I pay off my debt, I will close it and tell them to shove a carrot where the sun don't shine.

Minus one Star

Minus one *
If you mistakenly lodge cash with this bank then allow at least 6 months to hopefully retrieve it.
I sent the first of three applications accompanied by all the necessary documents at end of August. I know it was received as they sent back photocopies of the documents requesting a copy of IBAN , details all of which had previously been included, on headed bank paper confirming the already provided information. I complied by email with the requested document.
One month later a further request for ALL the same documents. Provided. After a further 6 weeks a further request for all of the same. Nothing till January when further delaying messages appeared.
It has taken confirmation from our Notaire that we had sold our house and had no properties in France ( to have the type of account we had with a French bank is illegal if do not you have a property in France)
So today our money arrived in Ireland.
If you want stress, frustration and loss of a pitiful interest choose La Banque Postale.

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER CARE

I opened an account with Banque Postale at Ruffec in 2018. For the first two months, i received a statement of account - and then they just stopped coming. I am in receipt of a small british pension, but just like everyone else, i was paying the usual customer fee every few months which is supposed to cover the costs of statements issued along with other services. This continued for several years until i had to get my tax file updated for which they wanted to see my statments of account over the previous years. I went to see someone at the bank and was told that if i wanted back copies, they would charge me 12 euros per copy which would have cost about about 400 euros. But it didn't end there. I also discovered on a number of occasions when i tried to order small items from Amazon, knowing that i had more than enough in my account to cover it, was then sent a notification from Amazon to say that the payment had been declined. In the end, i had to start removing the majority of my pension from my account every month so that my brother could make orders on my behalf in return for cash payment. The service has been appalling.

I would advise anyone considering opening an account with this branch of Banque Postale, to think again.

I would give this bank zero

I would give this bank zero. Disgusting treatment 😤 blocked my account refuse to reactivate or let me close it. Wont send me the activation codes and block my online access. Flew to France to close my account and they still won't let me close my account. I've given them everything they asked for. Stay away from LBP. I'm going to sue them. I've been trying to close my account since October 2022. Absolutely a disgrace.

Complete incompetence

Complete incompetence. I was wrongly advised to open an account, it took them 3 months to manage and open it, they needed 50€ for it, and then, after 2 additional months of waiting time they told me that it couldn't function. Since then (May) I've been trying to close it. Constant problems, the incompetence of the people is crazy, and the 50€ has weirdly shrunk to 48€. It is a normal account, so there is no reason whatsoever that they would take some percentage from it. Especially since the signed policy states that this account is free of charge.
