Great customer service
As a growing small business, we needed a CRM type system to keep us running smoothly. We were recommended to use Service M8 and haven't looked back. Very easy to navigate around and the customer service is very efficient and extremely helpful.
What a great app
For starters, the app is great and satisfies all my needs as a business owner. And if I ever have a problem, then between the hep section, online chat, and direct email, service is spot on, and timely.
Excellent product!
I've been a ServiceM8 customer for several years now, and this product is far and away the best I have used for my small two man operation. Its very affordable, and they update the app every year. The few times I have contacted support, they have been very responsive.
Great product for a small service businesses
Great product for a small service business like ours because it provides an organised way to manage our technicians and the jobs they have assigned to them on a daily basis, along with storing useful pics, videos and written accounts of what was completed for each job and what more needs to be done or approved.

ServiceM8 - Enabling the Best Ever Service
We are a curtain cleaning company and absolutely could not survive without ServiceM8. We are able to book work quickly, keep track of return dates, record conversations and photos of curtains, track our team on the road, and keep the most accurate records of jobs for future use. WE LOVE IT.
Nothing is perfect in this world and…
Nothing is perfect in this world and the reason why I give 5 Star rating is because of the support team. Every question, I asked, was answered in very good time and in very clear language. Starting with zero knowledge of ServiceM8, I was able to setup the system and run it pretty quickly. I started using it around the last week of June 2025 and have a good hands on experience in setting it up and training my team to use it.
Large Fees
Service M8 were not helpful when requesting a refund on a large fee. I have requested a refund multiple times and rejected.
Excellent communication and price
Excellent communication, fantastic price and very fast attending and solving the problem. I have already recommended to my friends!

We started using Servicem8 over a year…
We started using Servicem8 over a year ago as we were looking for something that could allow us to go paperless and send jobs to our guys in real time. From the start its been a great help for us and as we have got used to the system we have been able to add to it as we have become more confident using it.
We are a service team and we have added our parts to it as well as our customer base and we now run reports ,check our first time fixes ,run the engineers part usage etc.
All in all we find it to have been a fantastic tool that we could not live without now.

ServiceM8 could be great but needs lots of work…
I have been using ServiceM8 for 8 years and it could be great but there are quiet a few things that let the system down.
• The job search function doesn't use fuzzy logic (!) the search is keyword based however the results are often haphazard and don't return the same results. eg. Searching by job number returns a 0 result or searching by address even though there are jobs with these search strings in the system. This happens on both the desktop and mobile apps.
• The system is not real time and requires refreshing by the user. this is problematic when field techs update customer jobs and this isn't visible until the system is refreshed.
• When recording videos in the job it records any voice sounds in the background even very faint ones so videos end up with transcript that have nothing to do with the job.
• Job queues display the number of jobs in the queue, however the number isn't alway incorrect ie 1 job in the queue but there are no jobs at all even after being refreshed many times. You also can't assign a completed job to a queue as the assumption is if its completed then its no longer active, however there are exceptions like debt collection. It shouldn't matter if the job is completed or not. Its a holding area for jobs that require some kind of action.
•When creating duplicate jobs to save time, any historical data for the same client is not added to the duplicated job. If you want this data you need to create a new job which makes duplicating jobs redundant. Any 3rd party add on is treated an an isolated feature and SM8 support refers you to the 3rd party and doesn't not assist in any way.
• When enquiries are received in the inbox, any email correspondence with the client from the inbox is not reflected in the job once it is converted. Any photos sent by the client have to be downloaded from the inbox manually an added to the job. You should convert the job first to ensure that all correspondence is kept in the job.
• Material codes where supposed to automatically update when adding the codes to quotes however this function doesn't work so material codes have to be updated individually.
• ServiceM8 decides what material codes are archived based on how often they are used. This is illogical as repairs vary constantly.
• Can only delete material codes one at a time. The only other option is to export the material codes, sort & delete unwanted material codes then import material codes back into Servicem8. Having the ability to just delete multiple codes from the material codes list would be very advantageous.
• There is a limit on how many jobs you can have open at any one time. If you exceed this number you then experience glitches with the calendar view of the schedule, where jobs constantly vanish and SM8 has to be refreshed many many times for the jobs to reappear.
• Job Contact & Billing Contact details were supposed to auto update to the client record however this function again works inconsistently.
• Job status are limited to quote, work order, completed or unsuccessful. There needs to be an additional status of "duplicate" so jobs that are created in error or a client sends more than one enquiry doesn't have to be classified as unsuccessful jobs which skews reporting metrics.
• Reporting is very limited without the ability to nominate specific reporting criteria relevant to your specific reporting needs.
• No support phone number, only via ticketing system. Often difficult to put in writing what could be easily explained over the phone. Also support often just tell you to refresh the system, log in / out, update chrome/reinstall Servicem8 as their usual fixes. When an issue is detected and rectified they don't share this information with the end user. The help guides are often based on previous versions of SM8 and are not updated with system releases so look different and new functionality is not reflected in the help guides images.
• SM8 AI is not very intelligent! When clients send an online enquiry, if Auto Follow Up is enable, AI will ask additional questions if it doesn't think sufficient information has been provided. This function is not a true AI adpative / learns as it goes technology. There is no manual manipulation of the AI questions. What could be a great tool becomes ineffective.
• Job Proposals templates have limited editing capabilities. This function would be so handy to provide customers with multiple options for jobs however its limitation means that when you add sections with different material jobs codes there is no way of providing a total for each option. So proposals with multiple option have a total of all options.
Best program for Tradies
We have been using ServiceM8 since 2016 and it has truly helped our workflow. After spending years trying to find a program that suits a plumbing business, ServiceM8 stood out with it's simple design and it's focus on tradies. We have compared Tradify, Fergus, Simpro and others and for us, by far ServiceM8 is easiest to learn and use.
Every year there are new improvements and updates that are designed to fix small areas in a business but make a large impact.
Sending customers "On the Way" messages and navigating to jobs are simple adjustments that keep our workflow moving.
We are always impressed that our help messages are replied to very quickly and we never feel that our business is at a standstill waiting for support from ServiceM8.
We would highly recommend ServiceM8 to anyone looking for a program to simplify their jobs and workflow.

It is a great SW for small or starting companies, to whom want to have their business under control. It has a several features, that are amazing. M8 help us to organize the quote & order management. Improve sharing of information. We have not even discover all possibilities. It is using friendly app.

Beware!
As a client paying for a service, this company did not disclose their over $50 card surcharge when paying with apple pay until after the transaction and a week later are still shifting blame to every other man and his dog (the company using ServiceM8, the company that does the payment processing etc). All Australian guidelines outline a need to display and disclose any processing fees applicable to the payment prior to and this was not done. Shame on this company. Beware!
