Dear EpicVIN Support Team,
I am writing to request an immediate refund for an unauthorized charge of 99,99 USD that was deducted from my account on 09.10.20205 22:45.
On 1 USD, I made a one-time payment of 1 USD to purchase a single vehicle history report. I was not adequately informed that this payment would automatically enroll me in a recurring subscription service. The checkbox for this subscription was pre-selected and placed in a way that did not make it clear to me what I was agreeing to.
I did not intend to, and do not wish to, subscribe to any ongoing service. I never used nor authorized any subscription beyond the initial one-time report.
The 99,99 USD charge is an unauthorized and unfair deduction. Therefore, I demand a full refund of 99,99 USD to my original payment method.
Please process this refund immediately and confirm to me via email that it has been done.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate it by:
Filing a formal dispute (chargeback) with my bank or payment provider (mastercard etc.).
Reporting this practice to the relevant consumer protection authorities, such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the United States, as I consider this a deceptive and unfair business practice.
I expect a resolution within 5 business days.
The website is easy to use, but initially it's tells you it's free, but all actuality it's not.
This is a scam company. I'm not sure how the heck they have a 4-star review on here? They say it's just $1 to get a report, and then they charge your card for $49.99 without your approval. Luckily, I keep my card locked at all times, and the charge did not go through. After the charge, they don't have any way to cancel the service or remove your card information from their database on the website so unless you contact them to tell them to stop, they'll just keep charging your card.
They are predatory by:
1. Hiding the verbiage for the extra charge in a place they are sure people will not catch,
And
2. Not providing a clear, simple, and easy way to cancel the subscription or remove you card from their database on their website.
Just do an internet search for this scam company, and you will read horror stories! People usually don't get their money back, but if they do, it took them a long time. STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE. Do not use them at all!

I canceled my subscription before billing cycle, but after 2 days they withdrew money anyway, i asked them to refund and explained the situation, they could even see that i wasn’t using it after i cancelled subscription, it was in 8th October, but they took money on 10 October, and they didn’t refund. Just want to take money from you, don’t recommend it

I visited EpicVIN.com just to check car details and was charged £49.99 for a subscription without my consent. I reported this on the same day, but they refused to issue a refund.
This experience was frustrating and unfair. I do not recommend this service unless you want unexpected charges and poor customer support.

It is a scam!! They use the bait of a VIN report for only $1, but hidden there is an authorization to automatically withdraw $99 every month from your credit card or Paypal account!!

I really liked the service, the quality of information they gave me and the opportunity to pay 1 USD to know about 2 vehicles that I had pending to know what characteristics they had when they arrived from the United States.

Silently killing. Please be aware that when you check history by giving one pound you are agreeing to the subscription as well.
No other companies does that and they are not giving the money back, instead of that they can give it as epicVIN credit. It means I lost 49.99 pound due to their smart trick.
