I'm somewhat new to this development stuff, it's a long time hobby of mine, and when my site went down, HostGator's prompt, and thorough Live Chat team told me what the issue was, and I was able to address it and have my site back up in no time. HG is the way to go, I've been a customer for years now.
I contacted HostGator regarding my hosting renewal and auto-renew settings. Avin was knowledgeable, polite, and very patient throughout the process. They explained everything clearly, provided a fair renewal offer, and even resolved a backend issue for me. I’m satisfied with the professionalism and quick support.

Even though I paid for an SSL certificate for one full year, it was only connected a month before the expiry date. When I asked for a refund, the support agent, Bhavith, said that since it was activated today (14/10/2025) and expires on 14/11/2025, a refund isn’t applicable, despite being fully aware of the situation and having all the details in front of him.
It feels completely unfair to pay for 12 months and receive just 1 month of service. This kind of handling makes customers lose trust. During the chat, Bhavith was also sarcastic and dismissive.
Obviously, hostgator is training their employees on how to scam their own clients!
I hope HostGator reviews this issue seriously and ensures fair treatment for paying customers.
