Sezzle now won't let You make a payment on Your account directly with Your debit card. You have to add funds from Your debit card to Your sezzle balance and pay a $4.95 fee. Then You can make a payment. Other alternative is to give them Your bank account information so they can take payments You owe out. They just started this August 2025. I paid them off and closed My account.

I had the customer service rep Jay through a chat session & he was very patient, nice & helpful. He is single-handedly one of the best if not the best customer service agent that I have spoken with while having a Sezzle account. I am writing this in hopes that he gets the acknowledgment needed for such great support in helping me with an issue with my Sezzle spend expiring before it was set to expire.

I've used Sezzle for years, have never once defaulted on any payment. I made a purchase from a company called Blnd Box that is selling fraudulent and expired hair care product. I contacted the company, was ignored and so I opened a dispute with Sezzle, providing them a mountain of evidence including confirmation from one company that the product was expired. I undfortunatley used my debit card for the first two payments that went through. I thought certainly Sezzle would protect my purchase as a valued customer. They denied my dispute and and did absolutely nothing for me. I'm unable to file a chargeback for the first two charges, and my emails to Sezzle have gone ignored. Your purchases are not protected by Sezzle, they are unethical and allow businesses who sell counterfeit product on their platform. I've never had an issue with Afterpay, or with Affirm. Stay away from this company.
Edit: Ignore their meaningless performative responses. I've contacted them multiple times and my emails have gone ignored.

I strongly advise against using this company. While I have had positive experiences with Klarna and Affirm, my recent encounter with Sezzle has been extremely disappointing.
I purchased an item through a merchant they support, but it has never been shipped. Despite receiving two payment charges, the merchant has neither shipped the item nor refunded the charges. I initiated a dispute, but they closed it without addressing the issue. They required me to wait 15 days for the item to ship, even though it has not been dispatched. Furthermore, they opened a separate dispute that could take an additional 15 days, without conducting any investigation or providing updates.
I believe I have been legally defrauded by Sezzle, as they have extended the time for my payments to be withdrawn without taking any responsibility for the situation. This ongoing investigation process is frustrating and unjust.

I purchased an item that I got though Sezzle because I didn't know if I wanted it. I finished paying the installments but then returned the product. Next thing I know, they are taking my refund and applying it to another order all together that is on a payment plan. If I finished paying for a product but then returned it, it should be refunded not applied to a completely different order all together. If it's on a payment plan, why are you taking my refund? This is criminal. These orders have nothing to do with one another. They just happen to be bought under a dishonest and crooked company.

I ordered something from a merchant on Aug 29, 2025. The email confirmation stated the order would be shipped in 5-7 business days. Mid-September I reached out to the merchant and they confirmed the order wouldn't be shipped until FEBRUARY 2026. I immediately asked them to cancel the order. I contacted Sezzel who encouraged me to open a dispute. The merchant has stated they cannot cancel my order despite it not shipping for 6 months. Today, the dispute has been closed by Sezzle stating "you need to work directly with the merchant we cannot help you with this". The merchant says no, Sezzle says no. I am stuck paying for something for over $120 and I won't receive it for 6 months. I am thoroughly disappointed. I will be disputing with my bank directly. Sezzle does not care about their customers - steer clear of this company!!

Unacceptable Customer Service and Unfair Fees - Avoid Sezzle
I’m done with Sezzle after a horrible experience that’s left me furious. Their customer service is basically useless. I had 3 failed payments due to my debit card that was lost and canceled, and had questions about their $6.99 x 3 fee, but nobody got back to me in time which they charged me additional $17 x 3 on top of the first fee. After 1 week, I finally got through to someone who passed my issue to a supervisor, but it took five days to get a reply, and it was the same "copy and paste" response I’d already heard from other agents.
The fees they charge are ridiculous— $5.99 for each "loan" $6.99 for a failed payment, plus around $17 fees for each payment that just kept adding up because of their terrible system. You can’t even see which card or bank account is being used for each purchase. I lost my debit card and couldn’t check or change the payment method, so the payment failed, and they still charged me fees. My card was canceled, but they kept trying to charge it, racking up more fees when it got declined. It feels like they set it up this way to screw you over with extra charges.
Their awful support and shady system left me no choice but to do a chargeback. I’m never using Sezzle again, and I’m warning everyone to stay away.
I am also reporting them to the FTC, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General’s consumer office, and the CFPB.
Don’t waste your time or money with this company—use something better like ZIP. ZIP even allows payments in 8 times for purchases over $200
the best support team, i was having issues with my account for like couple days, but jonny come the the rescue. and resolved all my concerns i’m very happy with the results and the support that sezzle offers me to help me go through my everyday.
