Absolutely shocking service
Absolutely shocking service, do not use this company!!
I had to cancel an appointment last minute over summer, after chasing for weeks to get an authorisation (despite it saying on their website to allow 48 hours for an authorisation) it never came through in time, and this led to me missing out on spinal injections for pain, and actually missing my vacations because I was in too much pain to travel. I wrote this off as a one off, but this morning was told that I need to now cancel an MRI appointment which I scheduled and requested authorisation for almost 2 weeks ago! Because it still isn't available!! For context this was following rushing to urgent care and being unable to walk. I provided all reports but apparently they only looked at it today / almost 2 weeks later, so now I will miss my MRI. The awful service from this company has really impacted my health and quality of life. Keep away from them at all costs!

I've been using Alan for years, first when I was in France, then I decided to continue with them when I moved to Spain. From one country to another sometimes the coverage and advantages change, but one thing that remained the same was the constant quality I get with them.
The reason why I love them, apart from their great branding and super cool product is the amazing customer support. Alan is among my favorite support ever!!! all categories combined. The team is always so helpful, reactive and loving. And it's a lot considering that, if i'm being honest I don't want to talk to them ahah. I do it when i have a health issue so it's never fun, but yet they always make me feel cared for, they are patient and so helpful. It can be very stressing trying to find a practician abroad when you don't speak the language, yet they are always here to support me. They are just the best. Alan is not your typical Health and Disability provider.
They have a wonderful product generally and their platform gives visibility to both the insured and the company Admin.
I love their FAQs, which explain complex terms, and this is especially useful for Admin teams who are not resident in France.
Alan has a wonderful Support team! They respond to queries in a timely manner with accurate information.

Looks Modern, Fails When It Matters Most
The layout of the app looks trendy and modern, and their quick communication via chat gives the impression that they are reliable. But nothing could be further from the truth.
I was diagnosed with cancer, yet I am not recognized as having a "serious illness," even though cancer is explicitly listed in their limited list of qualifying conditions. A half-hearted reason is given—that I don't have metastases—and therefore do not qualify. However, I am a physician myself, and I can say that this reasoning is completely unfounded and arbitrary.
I have to go to the hospital very frequently for oncology day treatments as part of chemotherapy. I report these treatments through the app and immediately receive confirmation that they will be covered, but the hospital is told the admissions are denied.
In this extremely difficult time, following a heavy cancer diagnosis, this entire ordeal with an incompetent insurance provider is the last thing I want to be dealing with.
However, it is causing me a great deal of stress—something I absolutely do not need right now.
Alan presents itself as a new, trendy, reliable insurance company, but it is absolutely incapable of living up to that image.

I’ve been using Alan for over a year and I’m honestly super happy with what they offer and their service. If you have any problem, the customer support is answering super fast, making you feel very comfortable, always kind and respectful. I can highly recommend Alan!

One of the worst, overpriced coverages in France
One of the worst coverages in France.
It's way too expensive for what little it covers, especially regarding glasses, teeth and alternative medecines (which all "share" a pool of funds that is ludicrously low).
Most of the time, doctors and professionals feel just sorry for me when I pull out the Alan card compared to all the other companies.
Their UI is super pretty and the App is nice, but don't let that fool you.
Their customer service with doctors is also not worth your time, you get very cold and impersonal responses, it's like they barely read what you send them. Also telling you stuff like they don't "believe" in some care you asked for and won't give you a prescription, disregarding that it is approved by the French national health service.
