Easy to work with

Easy to work with, support agents go above and beyond. The UI is easy to use even for beginners. Rate Hostnet highly as one of the best DNS providers.

I recently had an issue with my DNS…

I recently had an issue with my DNS settings that I simply couldn’t solve on my own, no matter what I tried. So, I decided to contact Hostnet support (and I’m so glad I did).

I was very lucky to be assisted by Fran, who not only solved the issue quickly but also explained everything in such a clear and kind way that it suddenly seemed easy, even for a beginner like me.

He responded fast, offered practical solutions, and resolved a problem I would have never been able to fix myself.

I’m genuinely impressed by the quality of support I received and would like to give special thanks to Fran. I’ve never had such a positive experience with any support team before. I��ll definitely recommend Hostnet to everyone!

Worst company ever

Worst company ever. They are always trying to get money from you in every sneaky way possible. All scumbacks over here and I advise you not to do business with them, you will thank me later.

It is a really babad companyd company

It is a really bad company. At first they keep the prices very low and deceive you. Then, without your knowledge, you are assigned a website hosting service. You don't understand it and before you know it, many invoices are sent to you as unpaid. They also lock your account and don't open it, they want you to pay. Unfortunately, your domains remain inside. It is definitely a company to stay away from. I recommend that you work with Godaddy. Stay away from this company.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, average pricing, but worst is the hidden T&C's that come to life when you least expect it. I am sorry I gave this small business the opportunity to have my back.

Stuck, website gone and no help possible

When I discovered my website had dissapeared because of a missed Wordpress update I called the helpdesk, hoping they could help. I had been a loyal customer for 11 years and never faced an issue before. The team was friendly but the conclusion was there was nothing they could do. The new ‘php version’ was now incompatible with my old Wordpress and I was really stuck. I’m not good with IT and really hoped to get some support. But there was no way I could go into the backhand myself as the website was blocked. They expected me to solve it myself with some difficult code language via a guide. I tried, even asked my coder friend, but there was an ‘error’. During all of this, I kept paying for their service (without a even being able to access my website :( ). So I had to cancel my membership, website gone! I now have a bill and and fine on my doormat as they still charged me for months of hosting a website that wasn’t even visible. I am disappointed and really sad my website is gone on top of that. That fine feels super unfair.

Hey Laura. We are sorry to hear that you've experienced the situaties this way. We would like to inform you how it went down. Your website did not disappear, but was not maintained properly. A website is not static and cannot exist forever as it is. It is dependant on technology and has to be maintained and updated. As the technology progressed, your site did not progress with it. When PHP then decided no longer to support their older versions, as they were outdated, your website was still reliant on those older versions. This caused your site to no longer work and I'm afraid we can't take the blame, as we are your hosting provider, but not your website administrator. We did however communicate the deadline for the PHP versions many times and offered a way for you to resolve it.

You also speak about a fine, but we did credit your most recent invoice and paid you back. We couldn't pay you back more, as you didn't terminate your services ealier. The visibility of your site is no indication for us to terminate, only a request by you is. 

I hope that the situation is more clear and we would like to say that we really are sad that you experienced the situation in this negative way. I hope you also understand us.

Root domein name cannot be redirected/aliased

You can own your www .nl and redirect it to other services (like AWS). But to route your root, websitenl without www, Hostnet does NOT provide an alias or aname record. And if you buy the hostname, Hostnet is the owner of your hostname for the duration of at least a year, so you can not switch hoster and keep your url!!! Servicedesk helped me out by pointing me to Cloudflare which does support CNAME flattening but I've preferred out of the box support and not locking the domain names so I'm forced to stay here.

Answered the question I had and solved the problem. Very friendly and attentive. Once again I understand why I use Hostnet even though I do not live in the Netherlands. I can always count on their service.

One of the most professional

One of the most professional hosters of the Netherlands. If not the only professional, secure and no nonsense. No support or very limited free support but if you do need support you should either find another hobby, job or find yourself an experienced webdesigner and system engineer..
Always recommend them to all of my webproject customers (100+ by now).
