Never trust Paypal! I have lost a lot of money because of her cooperation with fraudulent companies.
On 06 April 2025, I realized that a company, called CDK LLC retired, on the same day, the amount of 26,99 EUR WITHOUT my authorization through my PayPal account, something I consider as a THEFT and a FRAUDULENT ACT .
I immediately, reported this incident to PayPal through my account because I was afraid of this fraudulent CDK LLC company. I request as well PayPal to force CDK LLC, which I do not know, to pay me back this amount ( of 26,99 EUR).
To my surprise, the next day, on Monday 07 April, I realized that this affair was closed !!!
I contacted the Paypal client service and after my explanations and the expression of my concerns, an employee assured me that it would do all the necessary actions in order to be vindicated. Unfortunately, PayPal did not do anything and mentioned that this case is closed !!!
THANKS TO MY BANK'S INTERVENTION, I was eventually compensated with the amount mentioned above. Howewer,I have had many other bad experiences with Paypal, which are very ancient. and I can't mention them anymore.

Complained regarding unauthorized payments taken from my account , doubled up orders not of my making , worse bit is never received the orders that I paid for , and feel PayPal were not treating my complaint seriously nor investigating it at all , said could take up to 28 days but replied to me in less than 28 minutes, if they had contacted the sellers which they didn't , they would know my complaint is genuine when this is resolved , that's if PayPal have the decency to investigate properly , I will be cancelling my account and taking this to trading standards as there seems to me this company does what it likes and takes no responsibility , this leaves me very much out of pocket and as an oap I do not take it kindly to being brushed off , I wonder how many others have lost money because of there lack of investigation.
Used Paypal but their buyer protection completely failed me
The seller, a scam company from China, sent the wrong size instead of medium size. They refused a return unless I paid about $30 for shipping and instead offered a useless 40% refund. Now, they're harassing me for payment, and Paypal RELEASED the funds despite my dispute. It's disappointing that Paypal supports such fraudulent sellers.

I use PayPal for a long time, however recently I found out that this platform is easily to be used by fraudulent activities because they lack of security verification.

PayPal used to be a company I used and recommended. Please don't use PayPal. They don't help you fight fraudulent companies like BeenVerified. I used paypal to pay a trial. They charged me for a service. I requested a refund because I didn't authorize it. They declined my request. I requested a real person and they don't have anyone, it has to be an email . I needed to tell them that there's no response or way to contact that fraudulent company. But PayPal is favoring fraudsters.

I was very shocked when I received my credit card statement and saw that a Cash Advance had been charged two times through PayPal. I have never done a Cash Advance on any card nor cash back at a store. I was charged $11.99 for each of these transactions as a “transaction fee” and interest on the amount. On calling Capital One, where I received excellent customer service, they identified these two charges from PayPal as wire transfers, thus the $23.98 wire fees. I did not give permission for these transactions to be handled via wires, nor via PayPal. I used my credit card. One of these transactions was from outside the USA, one from a private individual I know personally who was as shocked as me of how it was done. Looking at the reviews of PayPal, I am not even going to attempt to contact them. However, I will make these people aware of the issue of the extra charges.
The events were on August 29 & Sept. 20. My statement arrived 10/7/25.

I've been looking for a payment system that I can use for my online transactions and when I search online, PayPal is commonly recommended. So I tried, however, the experience has been a headache. Appalling
I recently purchased 2 x Windows 11 digital Keys. 1 via Groupon and 1 via 3rd party seller on G2A both paid via PayPal.
The Groupon key was never received and states failed on their website. However payment was taken. Lodged appeal for refund via PayPal that they refused, saying that I recieved the product despite clearly showing i had not.
The second key via G2A when registered stated product already registered and the seller started to give me the run around. Again claim lodged via PayPal and despite showing supporting evidence PayPal refused.
I am now referring this to the financial ombudsman, not just because of the money as it wasn't a great amount but on principle.
Moral of the story don't bother using PayPal they will shirk their responsibility and provide absolutely no financial protection whatsoever. Will be closing account shortly
PayPal's consumer protection is zero
If you ever wondered what PayPal's consumer protection is like.... it's non-existent.
Their dispute resolution service is a joke. It's formulaic and unresponsive. I recently lodged a claim with them that involved multiple requests for documents I told them I didn't have and no response to the background information I gave them as to why these were not relevant/not possible to get them.
Given that I was getting nowhere with their web service I finally tracked down a number for customer service and, after enduring a particularly awful automated telephone system, I got to speak to a person ..... who turned out to be only marginally less formulaic. I got the impression that she was trying to help but she was working to a script that gave her very little options.
In the end, after over a week of back and forth, I ended the claim and went to Barclaycard who resolved the issue in one call.
I have now cancelled my PayPal account and I won't use them again. The convenience they offer in terms of not having to enter my card details every time I buy something does not compensate for their terrible attitude to the people that use their services
