We don't change the information that you input into the Price Comparison Website, so whatever you enter into the PCW is what comes through to us. This is why we give everyone the opportunity to check and amend their details, on our website, prior to payment.
All your policy details are checked through various other systems, such as the DVLA and shared insurance motor database, amongst others. If your details are found to be different to those that you put on your policy, when taking it out, we contact you by email and SMS, to check them with you. This makes sure we have the correct details for you, and that your insurance is valid. This includes, amongst others, any NCD entitlement, occupation, length of time you've owned your car and length of time you've been driving.

Be ware off this company
Took out insurance with 1st Central after take out then insurance I was asked to send them a letter from my previous insurance company saying I was clearly no to blame for an accident which they kindly did for me they also sent me proof of no claims which I also forwarded to 1st General. After a few weeks they contacted myself saying they couldn't except the information I had forwarded and I would have to pay a further £649 on top of the agreed figure of £490. I tried to called them and couldn't get through I also went on chat and were to my account was on hold and she couldn't chat to me..I cancelled my direct debit with them. Today I eventually got to speak to a number of call centre reps. They told me if I cancelled the policy I would have to pay them £158 cancellation fee if I did not pay it it would be handed over to collections to deal with the matter. I have put in a formal complaint but please be aware of dealing with this company they are out to rip you off. They don't listen to you even though you do everything they ask of you. They also make sure this all happens after the 14 days cooling off period so you can not cancel for free...totally not trust worthy

Any documents that we need to check are requested by email but if we need to talk to customers about anything then we'll request that you call. We can see that you were contacted 10 days after your policy started and within the 14 day cooling off period.

An excellent 2nd car policy , I do think all policy's should be on one log in however .
Its the only insurance company I will use , They are always available and resolve issues very quickly , I highly recommend 1st Central .

Terrible customers service, vague emails. Added prices.
After receiving a few emails about my NCD I had received a few emails and text about an anomaly in my policy.
After multiple attempts at gaining access to my online profile which I am still yet to be successful and after multiple replies to
Emails I received a email at 1915 in the evening saying my policy had been revied and I Owed a £50 fee plus an extra £200+ has been added to my policy. (Monthly payments). No phone call was received. The emails were so vague.
It seems like this company is just trying to take advantage of people and take every penny once you sign up. It definitely worth paying a bit extra and getting a better service. Ultimately I assume through loop holes etc I’ll pay what they tell me.
Never again will I use this company.
