No more TCL

This my 2nd TV from TCL. My first TCL tv lasted about 5 years. This one lasted exactly two months our of warranty. After I complained, they decided to offer me a new replacement tv but of an older model with a discounted price. But I explained that I would like the latest model with a bigger screen, and am willing to pay the difference. Their response was to offer a like-for-like model, on an older model. So much for brand loyalty. I have decided to switch to another brand instead.

Rubbish

Rubbish. Bought a 32" for kitchen to replace a Samsung 32".
Picture quality was worse than the Samsung it replaced.
The sound quality was absolutely awful.
My phone had better.
Bought a sound bar to improve it but no hdmi output port for soundbar. Can only connect through Bluetooth so terrible lip sync.
Only had 3mths and its going in the bin to be replaced with a decent LG.

Fault with tv after four months and can’t be repaired

Bought a 40 inch TCL tv with freely. Only had it for a short time and couldn’t watch all the channels and had to keep resetting back to factory settings. Spoke to freely twice and they said there must be an issue with the tv. TCL are hard to contact and a third party came and took the tv away for repair. Apparently they can’t fix it and we are still without a tv while the retailer, the third party and TCL decide what needs to happen. The best thing for these tvs is a sledge hammer. Wouldn’t have another one and would rather pay more money but at the time that was the only 40 inch we could find with freely. Avoid this make.

Black screen issues

TV is fine but like many other people after only 2 years the screen has gone black and I’m being told it is a regular problem with this TV.
Apparently the backlight has stopped working and I need to get a new TV as it is too expensive to repair.
This is a clear design fault and you will find hundreds of people recommending fixes but none seem to work.

Very poor quality and needs a lot of work before putting it on the market

I bought a 55" TCL freely tv last month and it's rubbish. If you don't have an aerial you can't view a lot of Freeview channels. C4 is unwatchable - the picture is pixelated all the time and so are other channels. A lot of the time it switches itself off for no reason. Sometimes 4/5 times straight after each other. It is VERY slow to respond to the remote and I've almost stopped watching tv at all because it's all so annoying. On occasion the subtitles don't work and I have to have them on because the sound is so poor. I advise you to think twice before buying.

The TV

The TV, has several problems. Sound is off sync with the picture. When I go into the settings and fix it, the next day it's off worse than before. Oh to fix this problem you go through the settings wait for like 3, or 4 screens to load up. Adjust the timing, go back watch a few scenes, if it's not right, right back to the settings, repeat until the timing right with sound/picture. Its like the TV chooses a different Picture/Sound sync everyday. However your TV wants to play the sound that day.

Beware of TCL tv

Today both the supplier and the seller of their products have learned new tricks to push customers around and to collaborate on avoiding responsibility — either to repair defective products or to replace them when broken. They have mastered a new trend: claiming that nothing is wrong with the product, no matter how many times you return it for repair.

They have customers fooled — we waste our time, do without our TV for months on end, until the warranty finally expires. Then they claim they cannot return your money, even though you demanded this before it happened. They do all this openly, while consumer laws become useless against such conscious exploitation.

It is astonishing how these giants capitalize on customers’ weakness, economy, and discomfort, even though their very survival depends on us. They utilize their power and influence to refuse dealing with their own defective products, fully aware that ordinary citizens cannot demand their rights by law — because the companies themselves refuse to respect the protective laws.

In our case, Elgiganten chose to take the supplier’s side against us, even though they are fully aware that TCL products are inferior. After our experience, I read the reviews on TCL TVs and got the shock of my life: nearly all are defective, and both the supplier and Elgiganten are aware of this. Maybe that’s why they refuse to take back their defective TVs.

It looks like the TCL TV was just a bad experiment — and many customers got trapped in this testing process. Here we are. This reverse psychology has cost us dearly, because now TCL must proclaim that “nothing is wrong” with the TV just to keep up appearances. We are left with an unusable product, while both Elgiganten’s leadership and TCL’s office in Sweden, responsible for this bad deal, are let off the hook.

This brings a great imbalance in our everyday life, especially when we need to buy new products. Which firm is reliable, and which can we trust? But times are changing, and the same firms that let customers down still need our approval to survive. The tables need to turn to bring back balance for ordinary people.

Worst TV I have ever purchased

Worst TV I have ever purchased. Menu almost impossible to navigate. Remote control automatically takes you to options you haven’t selected. It’s almost like it’s possessed by a demonic force that directs you to anything apart from what you want to watch. You select down it goes up. You select the home button the TV turns off. And slow AF. Put it this way, if there’s a zombie apocalypse this is not the TV you want to tune into to receive updates

My TCL TV Has had problems since day…

My TCL TV Has had problems since day one! Had main board replaced and same problems appeared within about 2 months.
Keeps saying connected to Wi-Fi, then connected to ethernet and just keeps changing over and over.
The sounds just suddenly drops also.
The only way to temporarily rectify is a hard reboot of holding main on/off TV button while unplugging and plugging back in while still holding down main on/off button on TV for around 30 seconds in all, as long as the main TCL logo comes on at start up then you've done a reset.
It will go wrong again just a case of how long before it does it again 🙄 😖
When it works, the TV is actually pretty good with clear sharp pictures popping out in 4k resolution, just a shame the components appear to be poor quality and causing problems all round.

TCL 65R648 8K TV is a defective…

TCL 65R648 8K TV is a defective product, first one I bought from bestbuy lasted a year then white screen of death, replacement from TCL warranty lasted only few months before white screen of death happened again, file BBB complaint and asked for a different model as replacement that doesn't have the white screen of death (many people on reddit have this same issue saying something about a faulty tcon board) and they stopped responding. Never buy a TCL flagship unless you want to spend 4 figures on a TV that will only last 1 year. The TCL 65R648 8K has very light use because it's used as a backup TV in the guest room. The primary heavily used TV + PC Monitor is a Samsung 8K QN700B 55" that I bought at the same time as the TCL 8K and the Samsung is still working for years, pay the extra money for quality, don't go TCL (I can't say cheap because 65R648 is not a cheap TV) and end up with a paperweight and waste your hard earned 4 figures on faulty TCL flagship that only last 1 year.
