It feels like a scam
It feels like a scam. Got a trial subscription to retrieve a file that turned out to only last a few days before I was charged a massive amount without warning on an ANNUAL basis. I immediately canceled (immediately after the subscription started) and yet still could not find a way to request a refund. I sent an email to them and have received no response so far. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! You will likely regret it!

Refund Issues.
We've been struggeling to receive a refund from WeTransfer for about a month now. Service from them is absolutely attrocious
Slow and costly
Have been using wetransfer in many years. Never had problems until now. It went up in price so i got the smallest payed version. Cant seem to upload anymore. Timeout all the time, upload times in more than 5 hours.
WeTransfer used to be good, but not anymore.
I’ve been really disappointed with WeTransfer. They’ve made it so difficult to run a simple transfer service for my clients—too many restrictions, confusing rules, and every change just makes it harder for people to use. I finally switched to TransferNow, and it’s been a huge improvement. I have much more control over how my files are sent and received, and they even offer free plugins for my website that make the process seamless. If you’re frustrated with WeTransfer, I’d definitely recommend giving TransferNow a try.
Not reliable !
Not reliable !! I sent my agent a self tape via wetransfer .. I received confirmation that the transfer was successfully.. only that after 10 minutes I received a subsequent email saying oops something went wrong . By the time I had left and could send it again an hour later . It was all too late .Very misleading ! Lousy service . Terrible !

Same problem as everyone else. I regret not reading the Trustpilot reviews first. They charged me $228 for a subscription that was already canceled. I haven't received any response or my money back. I filed a complaint, but they just deleted my WeTransfer account without offering any other solution. They are scammers!
If you process the refund today, I will change it to 5 stars
Wrongfull and crazy amount charge!
On July the 11th this year our "ULTIMATE" subscription to wetransfer got renewed for 188,42€ with a 50% discount => 94,21€ see the conformation in the screenshot image attached. The message is clearly saying "your subscription of "94,21€/year will be automaticly prolonged on 26th august 2025.
The payment substracted from our creditcard was not 94,21€ but 822,31€ (a HUGE difference) this amount was never neither discussed/notified or agreed upon.
If you contact the support you get standardized messaging, saying they communicated this and you can change the amount of seats or ask a refund (wich they did NOT, refund or changing the seats is also NOT possible) this is FRAUD and SCAM.

This company should be avoided at all costs. There own T&Cs state a full refund will be issues if a charge is applied in error and they are notified of it within 14 days of a contract renewal. Still no refund at week later and I have a digital trail of when I notified them of the charge. Raised three Support Tickets now and so response. Use another company DO NOT USE WETRANSFER
I feel misled by the way WeTransfer…
I feel misled by the way WeTransfer handles subscriptions and cancellations. When you sign up, there is very little clear communication about automatic renewals and the strict refund limitations. Only after contacting support do you find out that refunds are only possible within 14 days, which is not clearly mentioned upfront.
On top of that, customer service replies with generic responses without giving a clear timeline, leaving customers uncertain. This comes across as unclear and unfriendly.
I believe WeTransfer should be far more transparent about costs, renewals, and refunds. Customers deserve honest and straightforward communication instead of vague standard emails.

Wouldn’t even give it one star, but cannot warn off potential users if I try to leave it blank.
A very difficult software program to use - for me at least. Cancelled my “free trial” after 1 day, but they tried to take full year subscription a week later , which my bank queried and blocked. So then they took a weekly rate payment from Applepay PLUS they tried to take the annual amount again from my bank.
They also make it as difficult as possible for you to contact them, as all their contact routes are via pre-filled drop down boxes, which you cannot edit to ask the questions that you want to ask.

I cancelled my WeTransfer subscription, yet they still took a payment afterward 3x the amount of orginal subscription, I Contacted PayPal, but WeTransfer never responded to the dispute — which meant they kept the money while also cancelling the service. I’ve tried contacting them directly, but no reply.
This is a company that makes it easy to take your money but impossible to get support or a refund when things go wrong. Their 14-day refund policy is basically useless if they charge you after cancellation.
I’ve been a paying customer, but after this experience I won’t be back — there are plenty of alternatives out there that actually respect their customers and don’t ignore support requests.
If you value customer service and honesty, avoid WeTransfer.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with WETtansfer. I was charged a $300+ subscription fee without ever giving my consent or authorisation. At no point did I sign up for a recurring service.
On the day of the charge and since I’ve attempted to contact customer service, but have yet to receive a clear response or resolution. This kind of business practice feels deceptive and unethical, charging customers huge fees without permission and then making it difficult to get support. It was very upsetting to lose this lond of cash and I would not recommend trusting this company to be supportive
The worst company to deal with in all respects.
I found that this company states falsehoods and never sends a proper email when you cancel a subscription prior to the free trial ending. They falsely state that their updated system will actually open folders to get your data you require. This is totally false as they sent me a folder of files I sent and it would not open it at all so I lost all my Data. I spent over 4 hours getting all the data I had sent together again and when I tried to send it again their system would not work at all. Tried many, many times, failed a dead loss and an utter waste of time.
I decided to end my free trial before they took my £210.00 subscription. I tried to find an email address and could not. I found one of their legal message forms on line which I filled in to cancel the subscription fee. They gave no acknowledgement that they had received it but I did a snip which WAS dated but ignored by PayPal. I received an email stating we are sorry to see you go, after cancelling the subscription with them. Kindly do something properly and send a proper email in ENGLISH stating that the subscription has been cancelled. This is because PayPal do not understand “We are sorry to see you go”. It also gives them the excuse s to hold onto monies that are not theirs and fail to return it to the rightful person, namely ME.
If I could Wetransfer a minus star rating I would.
We've been using wetransfer for years and up til now have been very happy. However recently they changed our plan (without notice) from 100euros a year to 1900 euros a year for a "Teams" plan - and according to the terms of service - this specific subscription is cannot be refunded. Honestly feel like we've been scammed. Avoid like the plague!

There are scammers using wetransfer.com to send bills for goods not ordered. This is fraud as has nothing to do with We Transfer. However the legit. company appear not interested as my email to their true email support address received no reply.
"weTransfer" no they don't
A friend tried to use them to send me some files. beside an absolutely unacceptable amount of ads... I know it's free and I'm the product, but there are limits to decency, I made many attempts at getting said files, but each time, I got a message that the transfer page "had trouble loading"... nothing I could think of worked, and I'm nearly thinking this is denial of service rather than an actual bug.
