Avoid paying unually for car insurance with One Protect. We did and having sold our car after 6 months cover we contacted them to cancel and arrange a refund. They came back with cancellation and admin fees equating to £1 short of the full amount we had paid. This company may be one of the cheapest on comparison sites but unless you pay monthly you run the risk of losing your money if you cancel early

Whilst I would always prefer to discuss my requirements over the telephone with a customer adviser, my queries were dealt with competently and very courteously by your adviser JA1 via the online webchat. I would have selected 6* had it not been for the 10-15 mins waiting to be connected being 13th in the queue! Having said that, the whole verification process was subsequently completed and documents issued to me within 2 days of accepting this competitive quotation. Thank you!

Terrible service. No phone number to call for help, huge online chat queues and then I'm emailed to say I'll be charged extra for incorrect information on my policy.
I've no idea what is incorrect neither have I been notified. I can't imagine what is wrong as this is the same detail I've had on previous policies - although my no claims has increased slightly.
Will not be using again. Terrible customer service.

I am very disappointed with One Protect Car Insurance. I purchased a policy from them starting on 4/10/2025, and they initially charged me a payment of £73.82. Later, they informed me that my monthly payments would be increased, which I did not agree to. I found a much cheaper policy elsewhere, so I contacted them to cancel my policy, which had only been active for 12 days. They told me I would be charged a £49.99 cancellation fee, but I explained that I had only been with them for 12 years and that the first 14 days are free for cancellations. They then replied that I needed to pay £94.93 as setup fees for updating data and sending the documents via email. Charging this amount for document updates and data changes feels like a shady way to take more money. I expected a refund of £73.82, but instead, I am being asked to pay another £21.11 to cover the £94.93. This entire process seems very deceitful. Worst car insurance experience ever.

Only wanted to add a driver temporarily, but this seems to be out of their ability.

Have since cancelled policy and insured elsewhere. However you get no refund and they charge for the privilege also .
