I’m hosting a WordPress magazine that’s kind of big (about 10GB with 263k inodes and 5–7k visits per month). I started having some resource usage issues, and the Scala support team gave me an honest suggestion about what I needed to upgrade in CPU and RAM to improve page speed. They also helped me fix an error caused by a cache plugin that was messing with the site.
What I really like is that sometimes, like in this case, they help me beyond what they’re actually required to do. Because of that, Scala stands above many other hosting companies. I’ve seen good tech support before, but Scala is definitely a few steps higher.
This is a very honest review and I'm not receiving any kind of discount or gift, neither I'm expecting one for recommending Scala services. In 2010 I was looking where to host my websites when I started my business and somewhere in a forum I've read about Scala and 15 years later I'm still with them.
I pay for Litespeed Enterprise, but they put me on Apache!
I've been with Scalahosting for two years and was satisfied, but now I'm the victim of a scam and support refuses to answer my questions.
I was on Litespeed Enterprise, I pay for my license from Litespeed, and Scalahosting recently switched me to Apache.
But on my account, in Spanel, I'm still on Litespeed Enterprise.
And they refuse to tell me why they switched me to Apache and why Spanel makes me believe I'm on Litespeed.
I ask questions and they just tell me that I'm on Apache, that's all, they refuse to answer my questions.
Update 16 october 2025:
After my comment here, they finally put me back on Litespeed cache, explained that they had transferred me to a new server without notifying me, and that I had not been on Litespeed cache since September 5, which explained the loss of speed that regular visitors had also reported to me.
Finally, that and the initial reaction of the two support teams, who refused to answer my questions, remain shocking.
As an apology, they will extend my subscription by three months.

I had problems publishing my website…
I had problems publishing my website created on Canva, and Antonio was really helpful. He explained clearly what needed to be done, and helped me do it. He also discoved that while my site had been moved over from GoDaddy, my name never was, so he fixed that too. I do have to wait 24-48 hours, but at least I am moving in the right direction...finally

Their support is always fast and polite. Seems like no matter how small or big the issue they know what to do to fix it.
Other support teams I've had to work with on other products sometimes seem to simply be giving canned responses to things but Scala support is not like that. I feel I am truley speaking to a real person.

I lost my job because of their Spanel panel, which has been plagued with problems all the time. The panel has been unstable since June 24, 2025, and there are always problems.

Block negative reviews. They try to offer you a free month to rewrite the review. They tried with me too.
