ABOUT US
The arena brand was created by sports visionary Horst Dassler, son of the Adidas founder and President of Adidas France. During the 1972 Munich Summer Games, Dassler was on the pool deck when Mark Spitz won his historic 7 gold medals.
Dassler, along with the rest of the world, found himself in awe because not only was Spitz the first athlete to win 7 golds in one Olympiad, but at the same time he set 7 new world records. Dassler immediately started forming plans for a swimwear company dedicated to aquatic sports and created the new performance swimwear brand known today as arena.
In 1973, just one year after the Games, arena launched its first competition swimwear line with the introduction of Skinfit®. Skinfit was known in the industry as a “technological pearl.” The new ultra-light fabric only weighed 18 grams and was designed to cling to a swimmer’s body like a “second skin.”
The following year, arena signed the first female sponsorship agreement with Australian swimmer Shane Gould. Gould was the “Female Spitz” of the 1972 Munich Games, winning 5 individual Olympic medals. Working in collaboration with Gould, in 1974 arena developed the Shane Gould Female Swimsuit Collection.
Dassler knew sports sponsoring was key to the brand’s success, so in preparation for the next Olympics arena started signing other individual athletes who could provide feedback to the design and development of new products, plus at the same time generate excitement for aquatic sports. By 1976, arena athletes and products were ready for the Olympic Games in Montreal. Members of the original arena Elite Team included such world champions as Mark Spitz (USA), Novella Calligaris (ITA), Steve Furniss (USA), David Wilke (UK), Shirley Babashoff (USA), Gary Hall (USA), Klaus Dibiasi (ITA), Ulrika Knape (SWE) and Maxine “Miki” King (USA). arena’s Elite were equipped with arena’s first line of swim caps and goggles designed specifically to meet the needs of high level competitors.
The hard work that both the athletes and arena put into preparing for the Montreal Olympics paid off and the arena Elite Team won an astonishing 44 Olympic medals. Two years later, at the West Berlin World Swimming Championships athletes wearing arena won a total of 62 medals, nearly 75% of the total medal count, and broke 9 world records. Members of the original team went on to set a total of 83 world records.

Disappointing service and repeated issues
I have ordered several products from Arena in the past. Unfortunately, for some orders, I never received the items because they suddenly went out of stock, without any notification. Eventually, I received a refund, but this was very frustrating and unprofessional.
Most recently, I received a limited edition swimsuit that turned out to be defective (the fabric along the seams was not properly attached). I reported this and requested compensation so I could have the swimsuit repaired. Instead, Arena only offered a return and refund, even though the product is no longer available. This is now the third defective swimsuit I have received from Arena.
Overall, I am very disappointed with Arena’s service. Communication is poor, refunds happen without explanation, and defective products are not properly addressed. This has been a frustrating experience, especially when it comes to valuable, limited edition items.
The sports bra humiliation experience
If you want to pay 20 euros to be publicly humiliated at any gym you go to then buy the Elettra sports bra or any piece of that line.
The fabric is thin and see-through, the coverage is awful but they don't hold anything in place even with a shirt on top.
You could use a singular, long strip of scotch around your torso and it would probably give you the same effect.
Would give them a zero if I could
Would give them a zero if I could. Ordered a few items totaling over $150. Jammers (where full price)don’t fit and the quality was not what I was expecting. Returned and no money over a month since it was delivered to them. Called and emailed multiple times. Called go to VM immediately. No one responded to my emails or phone calls. No refund received. Unacceptable and won’t be buying again from them!
Arena took my money, never shipped, and lied in their replies
I ordered a swimsuit from Arena on August 7, 2025 (order #22S00455644). Their website promised delivery in 5–8 business days. It’s now over two weeks later and the order has not even shipped.
When I asked what was going on, I did not get an honest answer. Instead, Arena sent me a copy-paste email full of excuses about “availability” and “quality checks,” none of which were ever disclosed on their site. They even claimed this had been “previously mentioned” - which is flat-out false.
Let’s be clear:
They sold me an item that was not in stock.
They took my money immediately.
They failed to ship within their own promised timeframe.
And when confronted, they gave an evasive, meaningless response instead of a solution.
This is deceptive, borderline fraudulent behavior. If a company cannot deliver what it sells, it should not be taking payment.
I will be reporting this to the Consumer Protection Authority and flagging the charge with my bank.
Buyers beware - Arena’s customer service does not solve problems, it just hides them under scripted excuses.
Are you using a new name on your tags
Are you using a new name on your tags? I have purchased arena since 20 years ago because of the quality on the materials. I recently purchased a new bathing suit and it doesn’t look that has a good quality on the fabric . It has a poorly finished borders and the size is running small . In additional it came with an extra tag from Carvico?. Are you partnership with that factory? The thing is I used your official website to avoid a knock off , and I don’t know if quality depends on the price you paid or the model but it doesn’t look like your brand
Terrible products, terrible service
Arena Tracks Junior Goggles snapped on second wear. Contacted Arena asking if they could provide me with a new replacement strap which had broken and their customer service team point blank refused to assist as we had bought the goggles at a club gala pop up shop. Apparently they take no responsibility for anything they manufacture unless you purchase from them. I wasn’t looking for a refund, just a replacement part which they are absolutely capable of helping with.
My nine year old child who is a top county swimmer had used her own pocket money to purchase the goggles, but only got to wear them twice. At a recent gala, just as she was about to step onto the block in her event the elastic snapped which completely threw her before the race. She panicked and was in floods of tears. The race start had to be delayed while new goggles were quickly found. Despite all this she still came second in the event. What a horrible experience, her new goggles she had bought with her birthday money and wanted for so long which snapped on second wear.
Customer service have been absolutely useless and unwilling to help. Terrible quality products and terrible customer service.

Great experience
I ordered a swimming one piece, a cap and goggles. Everything is top notch.
I had lost the nose bridge from my goggles and they sent me a new one, thank you so much for amazing service!
I would give Arena 0 stars
I would give Arena 0 stars. They are shambolic. Purchased a racing suit from them for £150 with a welcome discount. My daughter has worn it less than 10 times, and it is unwearable. Contacted Arena, and they tried to say that it is her skin pH (the damage on the outer layer, not the layer near her skin), it has not been rinsed properly (she always rinses it), and improper washing or care (I followed the Arena guideline to the letter). She has another suit that she has had for well over 12 months that has been cared for in the same way, and it is still perfect. Arena refused to accept that it is an issue with the swimsuit and will not replace it based on a couple of photos. They didn't even ask for it to be sent in for analysis. What makes it worse is that my daughter saved up for the suit herself. I will never buy another Arena product, they will take your money but they are shocking.
Do not buy Men’s powerskin ST Next Jammer. Quality not worth £75
Terrible product and awful customer service. Ordered Men’s Powerskin ST Next Jammer (£75) for my son to compete in swim galas. After 3 uses it discoloured so badly that it is embarrassing to go to the poolside. Disappointed with the quality and the customer service who simply ASSUMED that I have misused it and closed my complaint. Let me be clear, I am a swimmer, my son in a competitive swimmer and I DO KNOW how to care for swim costiumes. You product is simply poor. I have never experienced such discolouring with Speedo or any other unbranded swim costium. This is beyond poor!
Completely Unacceptable Experience
Completely Unacceptable Experience
I ordered two pairs of goggles and a swimsuit from Arena well ahead of my next race abroad, thinking I was in safe hands with a reputable brand. Big mistake. Ten days passed with zero updates on my order. I sent three emails chasing them, only to finally get a reply saying the items were out of stock. Seriously? Then why let me order them in the first place?
No proactive communication. No apology. Just a waste of my time and a huge inconvenience right before an important event. I won’t be ordering from Arena again. If you need reliable gear and basic customer service, look elsewhere.
Support team supports you, maybe, but actually - no
UPD!! After numerous reminders today 30.04.2025 I received the answer that my cap will not be delivered. They wrote that they did not charge me for the undelivered cap. 21 days!!! Hey people. Are you serious?
I ordered a swimsuit and a cap on 09.04.25. Paid. On 14.04.25 wrote a question about my order. On 16.04.25 tracking of my parcel appeared in DHL app. After getting it, I saw that my order was divided in 2 parcels. The second one I am still waiting. No data on the other at all. I made order 3 weeks before competition, thinking that I will manage. This still could happen, but for 2 days I am stressed. From support team no answer.
A great brand being marred by terrible management and poor logistics
Ordered on the 14th, it is now the 24th and the tracking still hasn't updated. So I assume it hasn't yet been handed over to the courier. The warehouse is clearly disorganised and poorly managed as I ordered items they eventually cancelled because they didn’t have any stock. Devastating as I loved the jacket and can’t find it elsewhere. Horrendously slow shipping. All they’ve done is print a shipping label for the package in ten days?? That's so unprofessional. I’m starting to wonder if they’ll send me the wrong items as well and have to deal with their equally awful returns department. Wish I’d have read the reviews before ordering but I’ll definitely not be buying directly again. Local resellers all the way!
Poor fabric quality
Bought an orange Arena swimsuit with a black lining. When wet the black lining shows through patchy, ruining the look of the swimsuit but even worse, it highlights my nipples as the black fabric clings to this area. Arena Sport are refusing to refund me.
I have speedo and amanzi swimsuits with black linings and they look great when wet. I will not be purchasing from Arena sport again.
Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. Didn't reply to emails for weeks, then when did reply, had no relevance to the orginal query!?
Will I get my order ever?
I should have read these comments before ordering, same experience.
Ordered 14 days ago, they promised 5-8 days delivery, asked them yesterday and answer was that I was with the right team to ask questions, the customer care :(
I love the items I ordered, but will I get them ever? Where is my stuff, where is my money???
Should I cancel asking for refund?
Summer order
I ordered a bikini and a swimsuit for the summer and love both! The swimsuit is not cut as revealing as others ans fits really well. The workmanship is also really good
My favourite Swimwear for years
I’m really happy with all the swimsuits i bought. The material feels high-quality, fits well, and holds up after multiple wears. Shipping was fast, and customer service was helpful with sizing. Would definitely buy again!
Everything was perfect
