Will close your account with no notice and hold your money hostage
I opened an account with Monabanq after moving to France so I could have a personal account for day to day spending. I received my card, activated and made a couple of purchases no problems. The next day, my account was changed to inactive and I emailed to ask why. I was then informed my account was closed, no notice or reason given. All of my money for the month was in this account and essentially being held hostage. I have been without access to my funds for 6 days now and no response from Monabanq. I have been unable to even buy food for myself for nearly a week because of them. I have sent 4 emails to them all unanswered. They have finally authorised me to transfer the amount into my business account today, however it has not reached me yet. It took me telling them I will have to get legal counsel and take action against them before anything was done. They also sent me 2 registered letters regarding the account closure which arrived 6 days after the decision to close. This is absolutely disgusting treatment and has put me in a horrible situation. Do not use this bank, they are abhorrent. I would reccomend looking into sogexia or revolut instead. Sogexia have been excellent for business banking and offer personal accounts too.

ABSOLUTELY USELESS
If the option was available, I would give -100. I have never experienced such poor service.
We opened a joint account and signed up for bancaire mobility - the bank transfers all of your direct debits and standing orders, then closes your account.
Requested this in May. Completed the online signatures, gave our old bank’s RIB details etc. Nothing happened. Spoke to bank, we were asked to do it again. 8 times later - still not sorted, asked if we were transferring from a FR to FR bank (the hint was in our RIB number - yes we were).
In the end we have had enough and decided to pay the higher fees with Credit Agricole in order to have a peaceful life.

I just wish I never joined that bank, I can’t pay online or in shops I am only allowed to spend €1000 a month, what a joke, calling them is a waste of time. good bye Monabanq.

over 10 euros fee per month for the service, i feel it is not worthy...I canceled my card due to fraud, it has been one month I am waiting for their card to be sent to my home.... French laid-back style? (they told me that they can't track this card, I just have to wait:( )
