I am VIP Diamond membership but decide to leave Agoda after years using. The staff said very sure that s/he could cancel my flight with minimal fee (Agoda fee was waived) due to my mistake on date booking, the request was made 1 hr after my booking. Then I decided to book another ticket on the right date. It turned out the flight did not refund any, and it was much more expensive than if s/he told me to change the flight instead. Such incorrect information s/he made but Agoda rejected to take responsibility. It cannot be accepted. Booking ID 1674849298

As a company, Agoda is very successful at making its customers feel bad and scammed. Not only customers, but also there is a massive customer support force that does not care about any claims or truth, as revenue is most important.
I have had a long and unpleasant conversation in which Agoda CS was lying on chat, making false allegations about what the hotel manager said to them, to avoid a free cancellation for a double booking caused by the Agoda system. And I was seating next to this manager in a hotel ;)

I booked with Agoda for price but it wasn't worth it. Their Autocorrect misspelled my name and I had to make multiple calls, and emails to try and fix it. I ended up being overcharged for this service to correct a problem their software caused. Hours spent trying to fix this issue. At one point they wanted me to send them a complete copy of my credit card bill. Thi is where I drew the line and I guess I will have to pay
the overcharges or not get my tickets. Do not book with this company!
Scammers, wish I’d looked at all the terrible reviews before I’d booked. Sold me a very expensive room only to receive an accommodation voucher for a budget annex.
I thought I was getting a beautiful villa on the beach as discerned on their website but have a voucher for a room overlooking a busy road without a balcony. Feel totally scammed. This was meant to be a special celebration for our 35th anniversary.

I booked a hotel in Melbourne that for all I know never existed. I tried calling the listed number to confirm some details about the site access - there was no answer and then the same at least 10 times over a week, no answer. So then I contacted Agoda for help, and got nowhere, just an AI agent looping around and around without escalating the complaint to a real agent. I ended up cancelling the week prior to the trip, booking somewhere else and Agoda would not refund me, even when I wrote in a complaint. Won't use this booking agency again. Process chargebacks people!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Their level of negligence is completely unacceptable. Our hotel booking was cancelled without any notice whatsoever — no email, no call, nothing. The only reason we found out something was wrong is because we reached out due to the lack of communication.
When we contacted customer service, they accused us of providing an invalid email address and tried to claim that was why the booking was cancelled. This was completely untrue. We immediately sent them screenshots of previous emails they had already sent to the exact same address… and as soon as we provided that proof, they stopped responding entirely.
We are now literally traveling to our destination with no hotel to stay in because of their failure to communicate and their refusal to take responsibility.
This company is irresponsible, unprofessional, and leaves customers stranded without support. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere if you don’t want your trip ruined. AVOID AT ALL

I am a travel agent from Fort, Mumbai, India, and I booked a ticket for my guest through this platform. I even paid extra for Refund Protection, which clearly states that the ticket can be cancelled up to 3 hours before the journey.
However, when the guest’s trip got cancelled and I tried to cancel the ticket through the “Manage Booking” option, it showed Non-Refundable. Then what is the point of paying extra for Refund Protection?
Since yesterday (Indian time 11:00 AM), I have raised multiple support requests, but all I get is an automated message saying the support team will respond within 24 hours. It has now been 36 hours and still no response from anyone.
There is no customer care phone number or email ID available anywhere—not on Google, not on their website. This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating.
Very disappointed with the service. Not recommended at all.

I am filing a complaint against Agoda for deceptive and fraudulent travel practices. I booked what was clearly advertised as a hotel room at FIVE Palm Jumeirah in Dubai for December 25, 2025 – January 6, 2026. Agoda confirmed the booking and charged me the full hotel rate.
I later learned from the hotel directly that my reservation never existed in their system. Instead, Agoda’s partner fraudulently placed me in an entirely different property — the Airbnb-style FIVE Residences — which is approximately $10,000 cheaper than the hotel I paid for. This is a clear case of bait-and-switch, misrepresentation, and intentional deceptive advertising.
Agoda acknowledged internally in writing that they booked me at the wrong accommodation. They then attempted to offer me only a refund and $1500 AgodaCash, even though hotel prices have now increased nearly 10x since the original booking, leaving me stranded without the hotel I paid for during peak holiday season.
Their customer service provided conflicting information, denied responsibility, and delayed resolution for over a week, causing severe emotional distress, financial loss, and threat of losing my holiday trip entirely.
This appears to be a coordinated practice between Agoda and its suppliers: advertise one property, take payment, and place customers into cheaper apartments without disclosure — a fraudulent business practice.

Agoda needs to answer this clearly.
This is not the first time I’ve faced serious issues with Agoda. It’s becoming a pattern now — fake or incorrect listings, hotels that don’t exist, wrong addresses, and zero responsibility from your side. I submitted every possible piece of evidence: photos, videos, location details, and proof that there is no such hotel at the listed address. Still, Agoda is treating this as a valid booking and refusing a proper refund.

Been waiting for an hour to be picked up for your of Angkor wat and sent customer service a message at 8:30 am wondering when they would show. Only got back an email trying to sell me more bookings. Absolutely useless company owned by booking.com and they sent the booking of your to Viator just as useless. If I knew they would use Viator I would never have booked with them.

I have never in my life dealt with a company as unprofessional, irresponsible, and dishonest as Agoda. My experience over the past few days has been an absolute nightmare.
I had confirmed bookings for four rooms for nine adults at Naz City Hotel Taksim, Istanbul for a family holiday trip from 24–31 December 2025. My booking numbers were 940828358 and 940829646. Agoda confirmed both reservations, including free cancellation and no payment until 22 December.
The next day, Agoda cancelled my bookings without my consent, claiming a “technical error” and saying that the property refused to honor the price. This means Agoda accessed my account and cancelled my bookings on my behalf, which is a serious violation of my privacy and consumer rights. I never agreed to any cancellation.
- Their customer service is absolutely disgraceful.
- They repeatedly hung up on me or kept me on hold for so long during calls.
- They ignored my chats for long periods, leaving me waiting endlessly with no answers.
- They refused to put me in touch with a manager or supervisor, no matter how many times I asked.
- They promised twice (including sending email confirmations) that a manager would call me, and nobody ever contacted me.
- Their agents avoided responsibility, showed zero professionalism, and simply pretended to be sorry.
My requests to Agoda were extremely reasonable:
- Reinstate my booking, or
- Offer a booking at a comparable neighboring property, or
- At the very least, apply a 40 percent discount to the current hotel quote for the same rooms and dates.
They refused all three options without offering any meaningful alternative. The hotel price is now eight times higher than my original booking, and Agoda does not care that I have lost the opportunity to book anything else at a normal price. Whether this situation was caused by a “technical error” or the property’s dishonesty, I am not the one who should suffer for it. I trusted Agoda with my booking, and they refuse to take any responsibility or accept any financial damage on their side.
And then, as the final insult, they offered a completely useless “compensation” of 30 percent of my original booking price, which does nothing to offset the current cost. It is meaningless and shows how little they value their customers.
To anyone reading this, just wait: Agoda will now paste an automatic copy-paste reply under this review, pretending to be sorry and telling me to “contact customer service again,” after they have already wasted three full days of my time with their disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely ridiculous responses. That is how they operate: scripted apologies, no action, no accountability.
This whole experience has been infuriating and deeply disappointing. The lack of transparency, the lies, the privacy violation, the refusal to escalate calls, and the complete absence of responsibility make it clear that Agoda cannot be trusted.
UPDATE: OMG this is so easy for them to lie!! They still have not provided any form of resolution to my issue despite the reply they have posted below. They promised me a fraction of the value of my cancelled booking as compensation several times in the chat but even when I accepted and asked for it to be applied to my account or to receive a formal confirmatory email about it, they avoided and put me back in the loop again by acting as if there has been no such thing!!! I have screenshots and chats of all their communications with me but they EASILY lie about them.

DO NOT USE AGODA. I selected a basic room for $80/night but they charged me $376 per night. I had to speak with 4 or 5 different agents before one understood my issue but they would not refund the difference. Bunch of crooks!

I need urgent help with a duplicate booking caused by Agoda’s system. I was informed that my first booking had failed, so I made another one. Later, Agoda confirmed both bookings and is now refusing a refund, even though the mistake came from incorrect information I received through Agoda.
I have full screenshots showing the issue, but customer service keeps repeating the cancellation policy instead of resolving a problem that was not my fault.
Please escalate this to a senior case handler immediately. I expect Agoda to take responsibility and refund the duplicate booking.

I booked a hotel stay through Agoda for Windjammer Landing Resort, but due to a verified medical emergency involving my traveling partner, I had to cancel our travel plans.
Despite providing official documentation of the medical emergency and receiving written confirmation from the property that date changes are allowed up to one year from the original arrival date. Agoda has refused to issue allow any date changes.
They claim they do not have any technical or logistical capability to make changes on our end and that their hotel partner is refusing to amend the dates. So, I asked for travel credit as a gesture of goodwill, which is the usual practice from online travel agencies. Agoda refused to issue any travel credits.
The reason for this one star review is their customer service, which has been a nightmare to deal with from the start. Their agents provided conflicting and false information multiple times over the phone. For example, one of their agents claimed the property and Agoda agreed to a refund, which turned out to be false. This is during a stressful time dealing with a medical emergency. Shame on them!

I recently booked two rooms for one night with Agoda. When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist informed us that our booking had been cancelled.
I did not cancel my booking. I had not received any communication/email from Agoda informing me that the booking was no longer valid. It was a very stressful moment, which was luckily overcome by the kindness of the receptionist who gave us two rooms at the same price.
This behaviour is outrageous. I will never use their useless service again.
