Alex Llamas Hi, I’m Alex Llamas, and I’m passionate about supporting first-year students as they adjust to college life. Alexis Beard Hi everyone! My name is Alexis Beard, and I’m currently a second-year Integrated Health Science major with a concentration in Nursing here at Kennesaw State University, aspiring to become an OB/GYN nurse. I’m originally from Augusta, Georgia, and my time at KSU has been nothing short of amazing. One of my favorite experiences so far has been finding the perfect campus ministry, getting involved in my small group, and making meaningful connections along the way.

I’m actively attend CRU and LifeSavers at KSU, where I serve as the Vice President. I’m passionate about helping, guiding, and encouraging others to become the best versions of themselves during their time here.

I believe student success is built through organization, perseverance, and strong relationships. Angelica Moss Mentorship, whether informal or formal, has been foundational in my education and career. Each mentor has molded me into a better collegiate, coworker, and friend, and has given me a leg up in my career readiness as a whole. I'm excited to teach my mentees how to prepare for the future, regardless of what it might look like to them. College is a time to learn and explore in a variety of ways- I’ve gained helpful connections through the Polyidus Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi, built foundational life skills and improved my health with Girl Gains Lifting Club, and even discovered a love of teaching through being a Learning Assistant for several architecture courses. Opportunities are out there, and it is my goal to guide all of my mentees to the ones that work best for them.

Altaya Allen Hello! My name is Altaya Allen and I am a Junior majoring in Psychology, My Hobbies include baking, spending time outdoors, photography, and painting. Interacting with students on campus from different backgrounds has been one of the most defining parts of my college experience. Hey! My name is Arionne, or Ari for short. I'm a junior studying Cybersecurity here at KSU and I have an interest in all things STEM. I also love video games, movies/TV shows, animals (especially cats!), music, cooking, and learning about various world cultures. As someone who's a bit introverted myself, I know exactly what it's like to be hit with a sense of whiplash after beginning college life. Whether you'd like to learn about campus life from a student like me, get advice on classes, or even to just chat with someone new, I'm here for you. 

binta mccarther. Hi! I’m a senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and I’ve been a peer mentor for Academic Coaching and Support for a while now. I also work as a student assistant for Owl Advising, supporting students who are exploring or changing their majors—so I’m used to meeting people right where they are, even when things feel uncertain. I focus on understanding who you are and what you care about so we can build a plan that actually works for you. I’m extroverted, friendly, and love connecting over shared interests like music, makeup, crochet, yoga, or thrifting—so don’t be afraid to be yourself!

Brandon Freeman Hello, I am Brandon Freeman; I can't wait to meet you and help make your first year a success. My definition of student success would be that you grow from the person you once were when first making the transition to college. It doesn't have to be a huge change but at least a step forward in the right direction. After this first year, I'd want you all to develop the mindset of seeing struggles as a test to become better. They do not call them growing pains for no reason!

Bryan Dayo-Adeneye Hi, my name is Bryan Dayo-Adeneye, and I’m passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces where students feel seen, supported, and confident in their journey. I’m currently studying cybersecurity with aspirations to become a firewall engineer, and I’m also an RA here on campus. Mentorship to me means walking alongside others, helping them find their rhythm, and connecting them to the right resources and communities. I believe student success is about more than grades ,it's about growth, balance, and knowing you’re not alone. Whether it’s talking life, classes, or favorite songs, I’m here to support you however I can.

Carlos Felipe Moreno I am a Cybersecurity major at Kennesaw State University, and I graduate in Spring of 27. Programs that I am a part of on-campus are the First-Year Interest Group Leaders Who Lift (co-coordinator), Air Force ROTC (Contracted Space Force cadet) program, Arnold Air Honor Society (3rd-year; currently Joint-Affairs Officer), Wing Leader at KSU, and I am assisting in advising another Honor Society starting up.

Although I am overly proactive at KSU, I am always available to help students out in whatever they need on campus. I want to be a servant leader toward those who choose to be successful and want guidance in how to be successful in their own way. I am always available to talk, to serve, and to be present in the lives of those who need assistance.

Christi Filarski Hooty Hoo Owls! My name is Christi Filarski, and I am a fifth-year senior, double majoring in Accounting and Finance and minoring in the Coles College of Business Leadership Scholars Program. Here at KSU, I’ve had varying experiences including internships, leading an RSO, and studying abroad! Once I graduate this December, I’ll be prioritizing studying for my CPA exams, and after that, l will start working at a Big Four accounting Firm, whom I’ve signed my full-time offer with! Overall, I have loved my college career and found my place within Kennesaw State University, so I’m excited to help guide others through the process.

As a Wing Leader, I look forward to setting first-year students up for success by connecting them to resources, encouraging networking, and guiding them personally and professionally. As a first-generation college student, I know how challenging it can be to find your purpose within such a large school. Making that transition easier and helping other students navigate the nuances of college life is an important goal of mine when I meet with mentees.

Accounting and Finance hone-in-on your analytical side, so when I have free time outside of coursework, I spend time enriching my creative side by hanging out with friends, playing video games, painting and crocheting.

Ciara Bind My name is Ciara Bond, I'm a Sophomore biology major here at Kennesaw State University. When I graduate, I plan to go to medical school to become an Oncologist.  I'm heavily involved around campus, a part of groups such as Coca-Cola scholars, Honors College, American Medical Women's Association, and of course Wing Leaders. I'm so excited to meet and get to know you all on a more personal level. I want you to know that I'm here no matter what, whether it's school related or otherwise.

Douglas Tanyanyiwa Hello! My name is Douglas Tanyanyiwa, and I'm a Senior Honors Computer Science student from Zimbabwe. My favorite memory at KSU was attending the African Students Association's Taste of Africa night and getting to see the demonstrations of different African cultures through dance, fashion, and film. Events like that reminded me that college isn’t just about classes — it’s also about finding community and discovering where you belong.

For me, student success goes beyond just academics. College is a chance to discover your purpose and goals, develop your character, improve your social skills, grow your network, and gain industry-relevant skills(hard and soft). I have made mistakes and failed, but more importantly I’ve learned from them and that’s what’s shaped me and brought me to where I am today. As a Wing Leader, I'm excited to connect with students and be the kind of role model I could have used earlier in my journey. I look forward to walking alongside the students I connect with as they find their own path at KSU and contribute as meaningfully as I possibly can to each of their journeys.

Emily Barr Hi! I’m Emily! I’m a third-year Elementary Education major here at KSU! To me, student success means helping others thrive in an environment where they can be their best selves—both academically and socially. As a transfer student to Kennesaw State, I understand the importance of finding your place on campus. I look forward to supporting students and meeting the needs of others during both the highs and lows of your first year. Ethan Kessie  Hello, my name is Ethan, and I’m a junior Mechanical Engineering major. I stay pretty active around both campuses, whether it’s cooking demos, morning bike rides, or just events I wander into. So don’t be surprised if you see me more than once a day. I enjoy all kinds of media and visual arts, and I’d definitely call myself a bit of a cinephile.
During my time in college, I’ve had the chance to grow through so many opportunities that I wouldn’t have experienced without the support of the people around me. As a wing leader, my goal is to be that same source of support for others. I believe college is a pivotal time in life, where you can learn from so many different people and perspectives—any one of which could have a major impact on who you become. Genevieve Ahey Hi, I’m Genevieve! I’m a junior pursuing a degree in management and minoring in the President’s Emerging Global Scholars Program. As a first-generation student, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate academic, professional and personal paths without a clear guide. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others feel supported and encouraged along the way.

I currently serve as the President of the Industrious Women's Network at KSU, and as Head Mentorship Chair of Collegiate 100.  Alongside academics and leadership, I balance jobs and other commitments which has taught me the importance of time management and staying adaptable.

Geovanni Cuevas Hi everyone! My name is Geovanni Cuevas, and I’m a senior Computer Science major here at KSU. I currently serve as the President of ColorStack and am also involved in SHPE, UPE (the Computer Science Honor Society), and oSTEM. Outside of school, I’ve completed internships with Bank of America and ZwickRoell and worked as a teaching assistant for CodePath’s Technical Interview Prep 102 course.

As a Wing Leader, my goal is to support first-year students and help make your college experience start off smooth, welcoming, and full of resources.

Jared Jeannot Hey! I’m a senior Mechanical Engineering major with a passion for entrepreneurship and helping others discover their own paths. I want nothing more than to help you reach your definition of success—or figure out what that looks like for you. Fun fact I am a Resident Assistant on the Marietta campus, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made at KSU. Over the past year and a half, I’ve worked closely with first-year students, made countless memories, and built connections across both campuses—all while growing professionally and personally. So, whether you’re looking to get involved, navigate STEM courses, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here for you!

Jessica Tazanou Hi! I’m Jessica, a Biology major passionate about science, mentorship, and helping others feel at home in college. As a big sister (literally—I have two younger brothers!), I bring that same supportive energy to my role as a mentor. Whether I’m assisting patients as a medical assistant or tutoring science courses, I love encouraging students to grow through challenges and celebrate their wins. Outside of academics, you’ll find me at the gym, in the kitchen baking, or unwinding with some knitting or a swim—balance is key! I’m here to help you find yours too.

Kabi Kabibi Hi! My name is Kabi (cab-ee) and I'm a third year here at KSU. I'm excited to walk alongside you,as you discover who you truly are, and what excites you! Kristaleah Hall Hey everyone! I'm Kristaleah, a Finance major here at KSU on track to graduate in Spring 2026. I'm passionate about all things business and personal growth, and I hope to one day work in financial planning or wealth management. Outside the classroom, I stay active with hobbies like tennis, swimming, crocheting, and painting. I love having a creative outlet alongside my academic goals. One of my favorite memories at KSU is the pumpkin launch where students make catapults and participate in a contest seeing which catapult can throw a pumpkin the farthest. As a Wing Leader, I'm here to help you feel supported, heard, and empowered to make the most of your experience at KSU. College is a journey, and you don't have to figure it out alone. Lauretta Martin Hi, I’m Lauretta! I’m a senior psychology major minoring in criminology and an aspiring clinical psychologist. As a non-traditional, first-generation student, I know how challenging it can be to find your footing in college, and I’m passionate about helping others feel supported and empowered along the way. I serve as the Vice President of the Undergraduate Neuroscience Association at KSU and as a Supplemental Instruction Leader in the psychology department. I believe student success is about finding the confidence to make meaningful connections with people, ideas, and knowledge and growing through those experiences.

Leihana Smith Hello, Leihana here! Being a Wing Leader allows me to use my creativity and time to serve others and help fill in the gaps that other resources at KSU may not fill. I highly value the growth of myself and those around me. No one should have to navigate life or college alone, so I am very grateful to be a first-year peer mentor. Maya Johnson Hello! My name is Maya, and I'm currently a second-year Architectural major. Some interesting things about me? I'm a dedicated anime fan, comic book reader, and I've been playing flute for 9+ years. My experience here at KSU has been filled with ups and downs; however, finding community has always been a big part of my life. Over the past 3 years at college, my core values have shifted from success and work to personal growth, kindness, and patience. I take one day at a time, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. As an architectural major, I'm passionate about creating welcoming spaces where people can feel supported, heard, and empowered. Nayela Vilton Hi, I’m Nayela, a second-year Integrated Health Science major with a concentration in Nursing. I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves. As a first-gen student, I’ve learned a lot by living both on and off campus, dealing with social anxiety, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. These experiences have taught me the importance of growth, balance, and self-confidence, and now I want to use them to help others feel supported and empowered as they navigate their own journeys.

Nia Welch Hi, I’m Nia Welch, and I’m a Peer Mentor here at Kennesaw State University. I’m a senior studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Sociology and Black Studies. I’m passionate about helping students navigate college life, whether it’s figuring out your schedule, finding resources, or just having someone to talk to about the challenges you’re facing. I believe that every student deserves to feel heard, supported, and empowered, and I love creating spaces where that can happen. Nicole Prudchenko Hello! I'm Nicole, a second-year illustration major, with minors in music and ancient and modern classics! It's my belief that everybody can succeed, and fear of messing up is your only real boundary to said success. As a formerly only-online student, coming to campus was a huge multifaceted experience that I know can be overwhelming (and scary), but it can also be the best time of your life. Some of my favorite memories were made during my first year here, like studying abroad in Italy, performing in a musical, and getting to work on an independent animated short film. Your college experience is in your hands, so let's make it epic.

Nylah Bennett As a Wing Leader, I’m here because I genuinely care about people; their stories, their struggles, and their growth. I believe everyone deserves someone who listens without judgment and sees them for who they truly are. I lead with compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for individuality, always aiming to create a space where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged. Paola Rodriguez Hi, my name is Paola Rodriguez and I'm a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Aerospace. I am focused on helping students in ways I wish I had been helped when I was a freshman. I seek to advise students on things I wish I'd heard or done if I could go back to my first year. I promise to be a true friend in the sense that I will tell you the truth and help guide you through things without doing it everything for you so that you learn.

Rinna Gacusan Hey there! My name is Rinna Gacusan, and I’m a second-year architecture major and currently minoring in art history. As a Wing Leader, I’m incredibly excited to meet and work with any first-year student! I always try my best to provide a safe place for everyone, regardless of background, to come to talk to me about their concerns, feelings, and anything in between. It’s the type of support that I wished I had when I was a first-year, so I’m so honored that I get to do that for new first-years! Above everything else, I am 110% invested in helping people grow into the best version of themselves.

Usually, you can find me working on something in my studio or at a club meeting for some RSOs like EQiA (Equity in Architecture). I love attending events and connecting with people, so I’m always down to tag along if my schedule allows. Make sure to say hi if you see me!

Savannah Metcalf  Hello! I am Savannah, a Technical Communication Major here at KSU, and attempting to complete a minor in Interactive Design. Success can mean different paths for different people, so I hope to join with creativity, compassion, and to show you the capability you hold, wherever you want to go. Whether you are sure or unsure of what you want currently; I can help you have a great experience here at KSU!  At this time expectations can feel high and this new world you entered can feel different. Having to now plan your time and juggle different positions like being a good student, worker, friend, and if applicable, commuting to KSU, can give you a different experience. However, this different experience can still be the same shining one that brings joy, independence, a sense of self and so much more. This is not an end to one era but the fascinating and magical beginning to another. I can be whatever type of mentor you need, a guide, a friend, or a breath of fresh air,  to join you along the way. Serenity Davis Hi! My name is Serenity Davis, and I’m currently a third-year Integrated Health Science major with a nursing concentration. With this major I have the desire to be a pediatric nurse. I believe Student Success is focusing on the finish line of graduating. It’s about learning who you are, what drives you, and how to overcome challenges along the way. Every step, whether it’s a setback or a breakthrough. It still teaches you resilience and determination. Success isn’t just about earning a degree, it's about finding yourself and the person you’re meant to become by staying true to yourself and committed to your goals 

Susie Wood  Hey hey! I'm Susie! I am a third-year political science student here at KSU! I hope to be the person that first-year students come to during both times of joy and struggle. I want to be a cheerleader and a big sister all rolled up into one! I believe that real student success is so far from what many people think when they hear that term; it is not merely good grades or an internship by spring. While those things are a part of success, I hold that it is much more holistic. It is about being successful in all areas of life: school, family, friends, and work! 

Taelor Rudolph  Hello! My name is Taelor Rudolph, I'm a Junior Psychology major! I'm apart of several executive boards including The Black Student Psychology Association and the Autism Awareness Club. I also enjoy volunteering, especially for the KSU Day of Service. I’m passionate about creating a supportive space where first-year students feel confident, connected, and capable. I believe student success is about more than just grades. It’s about growth, finding your rhythm, and knowing you’re not alone in the process.

Urban Michaels I believe in empowering others to reach their potential and in working together to become the best versions of ourselves. With curiosity and a growth mindset, I know anything is possible. That belief has shaped my journey as a non-traditional mechanical engineering student and NASA Pathways Intern, where I focus on aerospace systems, thermal management, and precision design. At KSU, I serve as an officer in our AIAA@KSU (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) student branch, collaborating with peers who share a passion for discovery and innovation. Victor Rodriguez Hi, I’m Victor Rodriguez, a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. I’m passionate about problem-solving and applying engineering concepts to real-world challenges. One of my biggest passions is serving as a Wing Leader, an experience that has helped me grow as a leader and communicator. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide and support other students, and I hope to continue helping others grow and reach their potential. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active — playing basketball and volleyball, working out, and relaxing with some video games.

Victoria Kav  Hi! I'm Victoria and I look forward to meeting you all! I am first-gen, junior, student majoring in Software Engineering and part of the Journey Honors College here at Kennesaw State University. Some of my hobbies include playing and developing video games, listening to music, and cooking; while some of my interests are indie games, anything in the horror genre, and nature in general.

I'm excited to be given this opportunity to help students who feel confused and lost from being in a new environment. When I first attended college, I didn't know what I should do and was not aware who could help me; everything was overwhelming and I only focused on passing my classes! With the Foundation to Fly program and the other resources here at Kennesaw State, we will all help guide and assist you on your journey. I am here to be a mentor and lend an ear as a friend! 

Zachary Coen Overall, I've enjoyed my time in university, whether it was joining a fraternity or getting into goofy philosophical discussions with my psychology professors. This is the time for breaking out of your comfort zone, learning to balance freedom with responsibility, and learning more about what you value. Helping people resolve their struggles brings me fulfillment, so I wanted to make a career out of it. I also enjoy hiking, and playing basketball in my free time.
