Dear Viajes El Corte Inglés

I am writing to formally express my disappointment and dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent cruise experience aboard the MSC Seaside.

This was my first cruise, and I was genuinely excited and full of expectations. Unfortunately, both my husband and I encountered multiple unpleasant experiences that turned what was meant to be a memorable holiday into a source of frustration.

1. Cancellation of the stop in La Goulette (Tunisia)

The main reason I chose this specific cruise itinerary was to visit La Goulette (Tunisia). I had already visited Naples (Pompeii), Livorno (Florence/Pisa), and Marseille (France), so the Tunisian stop was what truly motivated my decision to book this cruise.

While I completely understand that safety must come first and that bad weather can lead to itinerary changes, the cancellation left us deeply disappointed. I paid for an itinerary that was not fulfilled, and I feel I was negatively affected as a customer.

What is even more frustrating is that no compensation, alternative arrangement, or even an official apology was provided by MSC. It is also difficult not to question whether the decision not to stop in Tunisia was already anticipated before departure, which would make this situation even more disheartening.

2. Improper additional charge on beverages

Another disappointing experience occurred on the very first day of the cruise. Despite having purchased the Easy Drink Package, we were charged €16.50 for drinks.

Only later did we learn that this happened because I was the only one using my cruise card to order drinks — something that was never explained or clarified at any point. Neither the bar staff nor any member of the crew informed us of this policy or the potential extra charge.

While the issue is not about the amount itself — especially after paying almost €4,000 for the entire cruise — the lack of communication and transparency is unacceptable. Customers should never be charged for something they were not properly informed about or did not explicitly agree to.

3. Disturbing noise and lack of support from MSC staff

The most distressing part of our experience was the noise and aggressive behavior from the guests in the neighboring cabin (9064, while we were in 9062).

For three consecutive nights, we had to call reception and file complaints due to shouting, objects being thrown, and doors being slammed past midnight. Despite repeated requests, no effective action was taken to resolve the situation. It only stopped once those passengers disembarked.

I received a letter of apology on the fourth day — after the problem had already ended — but there was no real intervention while the situation was ongoing. I would have gladly accepted being moved to another cabin, yet that option was never offered.

4. Balcony cleanliness and safety concerns

Another deeply unpleasant situation occurred with our balcony cabin. People from the upper decks were throwing food and rubbish overboard, some of which landed directly on our balcony. It was disgusting and completely unacceptable to experience this repeatedly during a supposedly premium cruise.
I took photographs as evidence, which I am willing to share with MSC if requested. No passenger should have to deal with this level of disrespect or hygiene issues.

Worst service ever

We want to travel in Norway, a cruise seemed like a good option. Miss Fernanda at Liverpool Mitikah has never sent the best options for us since May 10 when we were with her. She sent a note saying she will send it in a couple of minutes. We never received anything. Quite disappointing.

They are the worst and most…

They are the worst and most uncooperative partners! You have to send like 10 emails to get the simplest reply. I would review them with 0 if I had the option. Please stop booking through them and don’t give them your money, and hopefully they will go out of business as they deserve and stop putting clients and partners into ordeal for the simplest of tasks.

Outrageous costumer service

On the 22nd of June I bought a laptop for my sister who was coming to visit me on the 27th, this was my present for her birthday. The home delivery company, Envialia, sent me two SMS saying that the delivery had been attempted, but that no one was at home when that was a LIE!!!. I was at my home both times that i got the message
The supposed "parcel company" misled me, they were impossible to contact and the message sent to my phone included a delivery status link that only let me schedule another attempt the next day.
This is when my ordeal begins, because Corte Inglés Customer Service has a terrible, extremely unprofessional and hopeless service.
Over the course of two months I have called them about thirty times and sent five messages from my customer profile asking about the status of my return.
I will highlight some important points:
- I had to reject the order in order to qualify for a refund, but I was on vacation from the end of June. During this period I was calling 900 373 900 to tell them that it was impossible to reject it as I was away from home.
- At no time could customer service cancel the order, they told me that I had to manage it. When finally, and after many complaints, the delivery person called me on July 5th and I was able to cancel it.
- From Customer Service they were never able to tell me if the computer had been returned and how the issue of reimbursement was, a real disaster. Every time I called they told me something different, they even gave me the phone number of their financial office so I could call them and ask about my case (obviously they didn't know anything about it...)
A pile of nonsense from a "bunch of useless & shameless people" who work for a completely unprofessional company.
After a lot of hard work and having the complaint ready for the consumer office, on August 22nd the refund was made effective after two MONTHS of having processed the order!!! (when it is normally fourteen days after cancellation).
I will never shop at Corte Inglés again, they don't deserve a single star. A real headache that has lasted two months in which they have illegally withheld my money, simply OUTRAGEOUS!

Viaje El Corte Inglés responsabilty engaged

On the positive side, the sales staff at their Puerto Banus office were very friendly.
BUT the negative side is that Viaje El Cort Ingles "sold" us cancellation insurance and we paid their bill in full confidence. In fact they promote a MANA underwriter in Madrid.
Unfortunately we had to cancel due to a serious and life-threatening illness of my wife, who was transferred to emergency and then underwent numerous examinations, including hospitalization.
Despite the fact that all the medical reports indicated, among other things, that my wife could not travel, and after 3 months of efforts with a lawyer and registered letters, we never received any reimbursement and the legal fees became too high.
Since then, we've been able to verify that all reviews of this company give a rating of 1, with a scam rating.
I believe that Viaje El Cortes Ingles cannot be unaware of this and that they are largely responsible.

Adding my nightmare experience to the…

Adding my nightmare experience to the long list of disappointed customers. Last year I planned to go back to the US for the first ever family reunion (07/04/2021). Unfortunately, I contracted COVID a week before and obviously would not e ale to attend the reunion. I sent the positive test results via email to the customer service department, they responded with a voucher that would be valid for one year which I was happy with. fast forward to (05/18/2022) here i am trying to get in contact with the customer service department. I recently sent in an email which was responded from a do not reply automation, that you must call in moving forward. After countless attempts only once was I able to speak with an agent, the agent later that week sent to me a reservation asking me to complete the payment for my new trip for 1,200 euros which clearly did not have the voucher taken into consideration. This proposal was insulting because the itinerary had two layovers and was more expensive than any flight I had found with one layover. Everyday for 1 week now I have called in with two phones at a time trying to get in contact with the company to be compensated for the voucher before it expires. so far no luck!!!

Never again!

We have in 2019 bought a cruise from Barcelona with the company. We are 3 families, who wanted to have a big family trip in connection with my husband's anniversary. 2 families were travelling from Denmark and one from Barcelona, so a lot of planning and adjusting of calendars. Due to COVID-19 situation the crouise was cancelled by MSC. We have received a voucher from MSC and would not withdraw our prepayment, as we wanted to go through with our trip as soon it was possible again. From the beginning of 2021 we were trying to contact company to book a new cruise, but with no success. We were through defferent employees, promising us one thing after another, sending mail after mail - NO RESULT WHATSOEVER! The question was - do you want your money back? But we only wanted our trip. At the end they just returned our depositum - thats it. The voucher that is rightfully ours they won't release. MSC said that they cannot withdraw our voucher - only Viajes can return it. But they do not and refuse to reply our requests. Now our question is WHY HIDING? Is it because they offered our voucher to someone else?
If company's managment would like to show some decency and responsibility, they are welcome to contact us and offer an acceptable solution.
