If you order food from deliveroo and your food is not good forget getting a refund. They did not give it after my complaints
If you order food from deliveroo and you find your food is cold not fresh. Want a refund, forget it. I complain on the app, emails and phone. No refund as yet, been 3 weeks since the complaint. They are giving me false information saying I’ve been paid back and my refund has been processed. Not correct,no refund. I phone to question them about this. As it’s false information, did not get my refund as they stated? They want people to give up on the complaints side. So you give up, no help or assistance in this matter. As this was very stressful, I feel like it’s a scam. Even asks for my bank statement? They know very well what I paid and what to refund. But they choose to stress out customers in getting compensated. Still no refund, terrible customer service. I advise if your meal is not good, you will definitely have a problem getting a refund back. I choose now not to use deliveroo anymore. As they is no customer service or help in these matters. I spent £31 on 2 meals what was cold chewy chicken no sauce. Never got no help at all, after all the complaints and back and forth with the same issue and not resolved. And no refund, is ridiculous and shambles.

No refund for not receiving items/package
First time I used the app for a supermarket delivery. I only ordered 5 items to get to above £15 and avoid the small order fee. One key item was missing, so I didn't accept the package from the rider, in order to get a full refund. In my mind, it's for Deliveroo/rider to sort out.
I wasn't able to select a refund on the app. I called customer service and the agents refused to refund me anything without a photo. I explained the rider has gone, they can see on system the rider left with package but as I didn't take a picture of the missing item and refused to take the order, they said they can't refund me. Surprised this is legal. They also didn't provide a way to complain

If there was half a star it would be to much , i tried to come onboard to sell with deliveroo , booked a meeting twice took time out of my busy schedule and they didnt even bother phoning , so not only a crap delivery service but there onboarding is appauling to , how are they still trading

For once a positive experience. I had to cancel an order after seeing the delivery time. In no time and though the app I managed to speak with a customer service rep (a human!!) and he sorted it and reversed the charge. Also when ordered other times the service is way better that its competitors.

Want to cancel an order before the rider takes it? Well you have to go to the chat, tell a bot you want to cancel, wait for an agent to pick it up, by which time the rider has left, you can’t cancel and you get the middle finger. Do not use this app, they are the absolute worst.

Unbelievable
The situation was that I received two spilled soups from maki and ramen that the rider, knowing it was all spilled basically forced me to accept ( he told me to complain in the app and that’s exactly what I did) in the meantime he was emptying his soaked bag all over my stairs leaving it all dirty and now they told me that is nothing they can do.
The disrespect of pay for something that came in a poor state, messing my property in their name and the fact that I have to accept that because they can’t do anything it boiled my blood.
Absolutely shocking customer service — no accountability at all
I’ve been a loyal Deliveroo customer for years, but this recent experience has completely destroyed my trust in the company.
I ordered ramen and noodles, and when the delivery arrived, everything had spilled inside the driver’s bag. The food was soaked, inedible, and clearly not in a safe condition — especially since part of the order was for my child. The driver himself confirmed he’d report that the order wasn’t received.
I provided multiple clear photos showing the state of the food, but Deliveroo’s customer service repeatedly dismissed my claim with copy-and-paste responses. I was told my “photo wasn’t sufficient” despite zooming in clearly showing the spill. Every time I replied with more info, they simply rotated between different agents giving the exact same line: “Unfortunately we’re unable to provide compensation for this order.”
No one took ownership, no one escalated the issue properly, and their “apologies” felt robotic. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable — just a refund for food I never received in edible condition.
This isn’t about a single meal; it’s about basic accountability and customer care, which Deliveroo clearly lacks. I’ll be taking this further through formal complaint channels, but I’ll also be switching to other delivery platforms.

Waited well over 1 HR for my food which came stone cold. The customer service from Deliveroo in trying to put this right was disgusting and did not help or want to. They just steal your money and are happy to do so.
