Very slow file sharing service

At first, Filemail seemed like the perfect way to download footage. It was reliable and it was easy to use. Unfortunately, I started noticing after a few weeks that it was also often very slow. Sometimes it would download quickly, while other times the speeds would drop significantly for no apparent reason. Other file sharing services like Google Drive and Dropbox would be working fine, but Filemail would just revert to a very slow speed during this time. I tried this on different computers over the next few months and continued to see the same results. Eventually, I ended up just cancelling and now we use Air Explorer and connect it to our Dropbox account and it is literally 5-10 times faster than Filemail.

I had not used Filemail for a few months since I stopped paying for it, and today I needed to download some footage from someone else through Filemail. I have very fast fiber internet with a wired connection, and I can download a folder with 400GB in about 75-90 minutes using Air Explorer with Dropbox. Filemail is telling me it will take NINE HOURS. This is the reason why I stopped paying for Filemail, because it is far too slow.

Response/ action too late, if delivered at all. Data protection and data privacy as much as customer service are smts they should be taught about.

Mixed Experience

I’ve been using Filemail for the past three years, and while it initially proved to be a fast, reliable service that worked seamlessly for me and my clients, my experience has significantly changed. As the price of the service has steadily increased, I’ve noticed a rise in bugs and performance issues over the last year and a half. Most concerning are the hardware problems that can make files inaccessible for extended periods, which is especially frustrating when working on time-sensitive client projects. Recently, there have been instances where files couldn’t be downloaded at all, with no immediate solution but to wait—an unacceptable risk when deadlines are on the line. Although customer service is responsive, the limited availability (email-only support based on Norway’s time zone, which translates to 10pm-6am PST) makes it difficult to resolve issues quickly. I would recommend considering other file transfer services if you’re handling important or urgent files.

NON ABBONATEVI, INAFFIDABILI

Abbonato premium per 18 € al mese hanno perso dei file importanti sui loro server, dopo aver mandato al cliente il link per scaricare tutto, la risposta è stata "ci dispiace molto, abbiamo avuto problemi tecnici", file persi per sempre.

Does what it says on the tin!

I use We-transfer free but its limited to 2 GB's. I needed to upload 4.5 GB's so found File-mail and it works great, shows the upload speed which a lot of others do not, it transferred the files at my maximum upload speed which is capped at 3 MB's. Would highly recommend it to others.

Does what it says and really well

It's not often I write a review, but Filemail are damn near perfect after so much frustration with dropbox, icloud etc.

Does exactly what I need it to without stuffing around, looks good, has correct and visible info about file sizes (dropbox and google are you listening?!!) has a 5GB free version, and is incredibly fast and reliable (here in Norway).
