Please be aware of the old manager at Halcon Viajes in Estepona

The Tarjeta Dorada did not work when I tried to buy tickets. I got the error information that the number from the identity card was wrong. This number is needed to buy online tickets for Renfe trains. The number did not match the number that the Halcon Viajes manager had registered for me.

I went back to Halcon Viajes and asked for a new registration of the Tarjeta Dorada. Then the manager refused to do this although he admitted that he had written the wrong number. Instead he wrote down a new number which he said he remembered that he had written down the first time. This number did not work either.

Finally when I tried to buy tickets from the managers system. I was told I had to pay an extra 16€ directly to him. When he tried to buy these tickets he could not do it. He claimed it was not possible because of a strike. I checked his statement online and there was no strike these days.

As I did not trust him anymore I went to the other travel agency in Estepona which is called Viajes El Corte Ingles. There I bought an entirely new Tarjeta Dorada for half the price at Halcon Viajes. I was treated very friendly and I had no problem at all to buy the tickets for our trip. I realized then that the manager at Halcon Viajes must have been very confused.

Went to Turkey on a package tour with Halcon: very disorganized and badly planned. In addition to that, I paid a supplement for a centrally located hotel in Istanbul and found myself in a hotel on the outskirts, with a 20 minute walk involving a steep hill climb to get to restaurants and shop. The hotel in Cappadocia was a damp, the food awful. Wrote to their Customer Service Department and they told me they do not handle complaints (??). Never again with Halcon
