I have had my fourth frontier for over a year now and had excellent and proactive customer service from the team. I'd highly recommend this device.

I initially thought that the Frontier X2 wouldn't be able to measure and display what I wanted. I was very wrong! I have only had the device a couple of days and it has met my expectations- and I don't think I've got to the bottom of it yet.
I got the device to be aware of health issues (AF) rather than sports related. The quality of the ECG printouts is outstanding. I managed to carry out a 17hr reading (including 8 hours of sleep).
The speed of delivery to the UK was as stated i.e. really quick and I had a helpful discussion with one of the helpers after ordering.
I look forward to finding out more about the Frontier X2 in the coming days.

My early impressions are really good. This looks like any similar heart rate montior, with a chest band containing electrodes. It's comfortable and easy to wear (you rapidly forget you have it on).
The difference is it records a continuous ECG rather than just measuring pulse rate. And it does it remarkably well. I'm a doctor, and I know how difficult it is to get a good quality ECG with a sweaty moving patient. Nonetheless, this system achieves it remarkably well. There is some noise/artefact on extremes of exercise, but so far my experience is nothing but positive.

I'm an amatuer cyclist and spinner and Frontier X user that just switched to X2 and have opted for the Premium Service that includes calculation of V02 Max and VT thresholds. First off, I read the recent negative reviews and I have to say, I've not experienced any problems like those described in the two I read.
However, the reason I went ahead and purchased the X2 was because after 2.5y, my X started having charging issues. I communicated with support and we narrowed the problem down to two causes: a charging cable failure or a device battery/cable connection failure. I was offered the same 30% discount (only 5% above the 25% discount available to every new X2 purchaser).
OK, I get it .....the X2 is expensive but it as an amazing device. I liked every feature of the Frontier X and after studying what is available in X2, I decided to purchase it. After receiving the new boxed X2, I took out the new charging cable and plugged it into my old X device. Boom, it started charging. However, if I wiggled the charging cord connection, the charging stopped and I got a warning on the display to check the charging cord. I carefully re-plugged it to the device and charging resumed. It's now fully charged. So, I concluded I may have had a charging cord failure (I doubt it becasue I bought a new one - same problem) and a connection failure on the device (most likely). I think there is a design weakness but it's not fatal. I think the choice of USB A device connectors instead of USB C should be re-evaluated with a redesign of the next X device iteration that features USB C charging cable connectors.
With respect to Frontier taking responsibility for a design weakness in the device charging cable plug, I'd agree with one of the negative reviews that in the case of proven device failures (not operator errors or charging cord failures), that upon contacting support that a pro-rated credit toward the purchase of a new device starting at 50% of the retail price at the expiration of the 1y warranty period, declining to zero % at some point TBD by Frontier (3y?). This way existing customers whose device fails after a year of service or up to 3y, get a reasonable credit towards purchasing a new device and Frontier can incentivise new customers with the % discounts they are using now.
New customers thinking about purchasing the X2 should know this is a high-tech device that allows athletes (or weekend-warriors) to fine tune their training and workouts through buying both the X2 and subscribing to the Premium services. I'd like to see real time display of V02 max and VT Thresholds during a workout but that is not currently available. However, the after the fact data in the subscription premium service allows the user to structure training events armed with the same kind of information pro-trainers use to train amature and professional runners and cyclists. The ECGs are as close to the real thing as you can get with a single lead sensor (medical ECGs have 12 leads). There is no non-medical comparable device as accurate as the Frontier's X and X2. Given single lead limitations, it is still fully capable of medical interpretation and diagnosis by a qualified MD, but Frontier makes it very clear the device alone being interpreted by untrained users cannot be used for medical diagnosis purposes. The Frontier App in conjunction with the website makes it easy to get PDF copies of an ECG that you can forward to a cardiologist for review and interpretation.
Overall a great product with great tech support. The device works fine when it's operation is understood and used according to the available manuals and published FAQs. I'd like Frontier to consider and offer a little better warranty as the devices aren't cheap. I'm looking forward to improving my cycling/spinning performance with the V02 Max and VT data I'm getting post exercise that will guide my training.

20250107 UPDATE
after sending my considerations to the company, thanks to the interest of Sneha, who forwarded my query to the team, they agreed to replace the non-working device with a new one.
I just received the new frontier X2 today and I will try it as soon as possible, thank you so much.
All's well that ends well!

It wasn't a good experience!!
Please note that company policy, for their products, is to offer only 1 year warranty!!
I purchased the Fourth Frontier X2 at the price of Total: €400.76, on April 23, 2023, so 19 months ago.
I've always used it correctly, never in the water for swimming or other water sports (even if it is waterproof).
After 2 months from the purchase I started having problems, the device crashed very often and I have to reboot the device continuously, but at the end of November 2024 the device turned off and no longer worked.
I got in touch with the customer service and according to them the problem is the hardware; they proposed me a "special offer" dedicated exclusively to me.
They offered me a 30% discount, but considering that on their site they offer everyone a 25% discount, this means that the "special discount" for me is an extra 5%. Unbelievable!!!
No thanks, I will buy another device that offers more guarantees and above all from more serious companies and with different policies than yours.

Updated review - I was having heart issues so was very interested in the frontier x2 to monitor my heart over extended periods and during exercise.
However, my personal experience is that the x2 isn’t fit for purpose. At best it works intermittently, often not at all, and when it does record an ecg, it is basically unintelligible for practical purposes. Its performance is even worse when exercising.
I have liaised with the helpdesk a couple of times and reset the device but I’ve come to the conclusion that it can’t do what it says it can do. It is no more than a poorly performing run of the mill hrm at 10x the price.
Back to my garmin hrm when I exercise and the Kardia when at home
Frontier customer services eventually replaced my device. It’s reading as I would expect now but only 3* due to my experience

They sorted it out so I have adjusted the review.

For those of us who are aging-athletes with many decades of ultra-endurance training and competition and consequent cardiovascular issues, the metrics FF X2 provides are indispensable to be able to see in real-time. For me, those data, when combined with real-time measurement of muscle oxygen and watt output allow me to calibrate my work to enhance safety and fitness. To my knowledge, there are no other wearable monitors at the price point of the X2 and Premium subscription that can provide such data.

Quick background--I had been having some irregular heart beats during exercise and was looking for a way to investigate what was going on. Found the Fourth Frontier X2 online. I use it every time I workout now and also when I sleep. I have gotten a lot of great insight into my heart health and am quite happy with the product. The X2 is helping me and my doctor manage my newly diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation.
--The Heart Strain indicator is quite helpful. I have had the "buzz" on the device go off a couple of times. It tells me to lower my workout intensity.
--The heart rate is accurate--as compared with my Polar H10 strap and several manual counts.
--Breath rate is helpful information not supplied by other heart rate devices
--The HRV reading is helpful and compares very close to my Oura ring.
--Sleep data is impressive and compares very close to the Oura ring.
--The X2 could easily take the place of the Polar H10 strap and Oura ring.
--The App is intuitive and provides a lot of useful information.
--I love that the app will generate a PDF of the ECG that can be emailed to your cardiologist/doctor.
--I love that the X2 is charged via USB instead of a battery like the H10.
--Battery life is impressive--I have worn it all night while sleeping followed by 3 hours of use during exercise and have not gone below 70% charge. I once wore it for 18 hours and only got to 60% charge. The X2 charges in just a few minutes-much faster than my Apple watch.
--My cardiologist was enthusiastic about my use of the X2. He found the ECG data useful--especially because he could see what was happening during a specific activity. I had worn a 2 week monitor through him--but of course I didn't have any weird beats until after I turned in his device. The X2 ECG is helping to guide my treatment.

If you want to really learn about your heart health and what impact it, this is the device. I’ve used many health devices, and they all more or less give you the same data. While that data is informative, I wanted deeper insights into my heart health and Fourth Frontier does this better than any device I know. Yes, it’s on the pricier side and I was reluctant about that, but the great thing is that you can get a full, one-on-one demo. I talked with Vijay Kumar who took the time to walk me through what it does, answered all my questions, and made sure the device is a fit for my needs. I was looking for a device that would give me all-day readings, and he showed me exactly how it could do just that. So, the purchase was seamless. I never felt rushed or pressured. The device itself far outdid my expectations. I was nervous about whether the battery would give all-day readings, and it does. The readings give me much better insights into my heart function than any device I’ve tried. What’s even better is that you get a consultation with a real healthcare professional who helps you understand your readings. I learned more in that session than months and years of data from other sources and/or doctor visits. Both the mobile device and the desktop dashboard give you a lot of insights. Finally, in just the few months I’ve owned this device, they have updated and added features and services so that the device and the information continue to improve. As someone who loves to try out new tech and learn about my health through insights, I’m super impressed!

I've had lots of exercise monitors over the years but was looking for one with multiple and extensive features. The Fourth Frontier X2 is an excellent monitor providing me with all the stats I'm interested in for a heart monitor...as well as special features such as an indication of VO2 Max (with the premium membership). Also, customer service has been excellent vie email whenever I've had a question.

I can't find information on, what you call, 'Noisy signal/Not interprable 'Grey background'. The instrucion-picture does not show the 'Grey background' I find in my grafics?
Noisy signal can be an Technical matter or an Hartmatter or both!? I see this grey background on a regular base. I know the meaning of flags in the grafics. I have them alwais! That's wy I bought this device.

Placed order more the 2 weeks (delivery 3-5 days). Contacted via Live Chat. They would investigate and contact me back (no response for almost a week now) Filled in contact form... nor response. Not even that they received the form or that they would investigate.
Very poor customer support. On the product(s) itself I cannot comment, because I have not received them. But hey... they got the money. So why would they care...

The Frontier X is an excellent product, backed by a team that listens to its customers and responds promptly—a refreshing approach in today’s market. It may be the best heart rate monitor for fitness enthusiasts.

Not sure where all these other reviews have come from but in general, for a device that costs in excess of £350 - it's very poor.
I use the HRM for variety of exercises - mainly treadmill running, HIT and kickboxing. My main concern and issue is the amount of 'noisy rhythm' that gets reported, generally resulting in a useless and overpriced HRM unfortunately.
My past 4 activities have resulted in 27%, 40%, 30%, and even one activity had 80% noisy rhythm.
Customer service informs me of the usual tactics to ensure contact, proper position etc. But the amount of items that can seem to interfere with this device is crazy. Zips or metal on your workout gear, even static generated by your clothing can cause interference. For a device that costs this much, that is just plain ridiculous.
Back to Garmin and Polar it is.

The sales pith was good. But after the sale was supposed to get done furyher assistance re set up and setting parameters. Also called technical support. This was call centre in India, said they would email me the answer. No response for weeks. Device also gives spurious readings. Would not recommend

Avoid this company.
They potentially have a great product if they could sort out these issues, poor quality materials, bugs in the software and poor customer service.
I bought my unit in August 2023 and generally it was ok, it started to go wrong in January 2024. The customer service team refused to acknowledge that there was an issue and kept sending me the same instructions to reboot the unit, which worked for a day or two, but this became tedious.
Finally after 5 months of no action from them I managed to get them to agree it was a faulty unit and to replace it.
The replacement unit worked fine for 3 months and now it wont charge using their bespoke charging cable.
As I am over 12 months from original purchase, even though the replacement is 3 months old they wont replace the cable.
They are a very difficult company to deal with if you have an issue, they won’t accept the problem is with their equipment.
Update, since this review they have resolved the issue by sending out the replacement cable.

So far, so good. My device has worked well and the couple times I have encountered an issue, Fourth Frontier customer service has been extremely responsive. The device has integrated well with my Garmin and I have been using it on every ride. Although I purchased it after having an episode of suspected afib on a ride, I have not had anything similar since, so I have not had the occasion to share my ECG data with my doctor. However, I will take that!

My device stopped working and they exchanged it for a new one instantly. Fourth Frontier 2 has given me the confidence to get back to peak training.
After an unfortunate heart event in 2022, I started using this device and I will be doing Ironman Copenhagen in 2025 with my Frontier 2.

I've had the X2 for nearly 9 months and it's been a really effective addition to my training regime. That said they say the best test of any company is when something goes wrong.
Sadly my device has developed a fault and for the last month I've been batted around various customer service departments with promises of fixes and resolution of my problem. I'm now into my fifth week of not being able to use my device and once again another generic reply to my email stating it's been passed up and expect a reply in the next 24-48 hours
Seriously. This device cost a fortune. Stand by your product and deal with problems in a timely way that resolves the issue for the customer
Classic generic reply from Fourth Frontier on here. I'm already in direct contact and getting nowhere hence the negative review. Happy to take a small fortune for the device - less keen to replace one that hasn't worked for five weeks
