eBay customer support is complete idiots

eBay customer support is complete idiots. They blocked my selling account because of some new nonsense metrics called BBE policy. What does it matter that I have 100% pozitive customer reviews as a seller and eBay itself says I am an "above standard" seller. They blocked my account, delisted my products and froze my money that I was supposed to receive from the sale. They destroyed my business and stole all my money!!! And all this before Christmas. I am really in a desperate situation now. In fact, I am even worse off than before selling on eBay because I bought a lot of products and invested a lot of money, time and lost everything. Never sell through this selling platform unless you want to end up like me.

Frustrating, outdated, and unreliable

eBay feels like a platform stuck in the 90s, and their tracking system is a joke. I paid $40 for shipping on a package that just arrived at a pickup point after 2 months!!! eBay marked it as “delivered” the moment it got there - even though I haven’t received it yet. Another package showed as delivered... in a completely different country.

Sellers are often unresponsive, returns are a headache, and fake or useless tracking info is everywhere. Their support can be decent at times, which is more than I can say for some other sites, but overall it’s a frustrating experience. If you want a smooth, trustworthy shopping experience, eBay is not it. I’m done wasting my time and money here.

This site needs to be shut down

This site needs to be shut down. First time and last time ordering anything from this site. I found an item for a decent price and all of the reviews about the seller and service were mostly positive reviews. I waited a couple of days waiting for shipping confirmation and after 2 days I was sent an email saying the order was cancelled by the buyer. I never cancelled the order and that is a complete lie. I did a little bit of investigating without contacting the seller and read where it is considered unethical for a seller to lie about reason of cancellation and if reported then the seller would be removed from the site. I seriously doubt that's going to happen. They are going to continue to play mind games with their customers and be misleading. Luckily a refund was issued immediately but I will not chance it again. Always remember you can open a dispute through your bank or BBB when these predators take your money and don't refund it.

Luckily there are plenty of alternatives.

I already had serious problems with ebay in the past but that's the last time I deal with them. I wanted to return an item that was very poor quality, I could not do it because the customer service was so slow that it took them more that the 14 statutory days for return. Shambolic. There are so many places nowadays to buy and sell that the world can easily do without them.

It’s got worse.

Fees - makes no odds who you charge fees from. I’ve reduced my prices.
Postage - now I have to drive to drop off parcels because eBay decides who I send my parcel with. Up until recently, I could arrange for Royal Mail or Evri to collect them from my home. It was easy but you’ve made it really annnoying. It’s likely I’ll stop selling on eBay for this reason.

They refused to delete the listing because "it did not infringe their listing policy" Oh really, so I can list a Timex watch and claim it is a Rolex? I report 100s of fake Ralph Lauren clothing but only 1% gets removed. eBay are only interested in one thing ... PROFIT.

A great online shopping experience

There are many good experiences because I shop there regularly but one sticks out to me. The seller didn't ship my item and at that point I wasn't sure what would happen. I contacted ebey and told them what had happened. Within 24 hours my refund was on the way. They take good care of their customers and to me that's a plus.

Ebay is now a cheap chinese shop.

They used to have a filter to choose from which country a certain product was sold from. They took that away and now I am forced to comb hundreds of cheap chinese crap, whom seems have taken complete control of ebay. It was supposed to be a market place for private people to sell their second hand stuff, now it's just a fkng cheap chinese shop, nothing more.
If you want your local people earn some money, look elsewhere.

absolutely terrible experience…

I had an absolutely terrible experience with eBay. After purchasing a book, my account was suddenly and unfairly suspended without any explanation. They claimed my account was "putting the community at risk" but refused to provide any details or evidence. I’ve tried to contact their support, but they’ve been unhelpful and unwilling to explain what happened.

To make matters worse, I’ve received no refund for the book I bought, even though my account was locked. This entire situation has been beyond frustrating, and I feel completely unsupported. I will NEVER use eBay again after this. If you're considering buying or selling on eBay, think twice—this has been a completely negative and stressful experience.

Contact your attorney generals office and FTC for ebay issues if you want them resolved. Ebay are fraudsters guilty of bait and switch. Not sellers but corporate. I purchased 150 gift card to find out i cant even use them because ebay decides what you are allowed to use with their gift cards. I tried contacting for fraud and found out i have to wait. So if you credit information is ever compromised through ebay, know the thieves will have hours before ebay will even start any process. I will contact ebay and then likely the FTC and my states attorney generals office
