I'm happy with the insurance company always helpfull happy how much my insurance has dropped
The process and price were outstanding
When I first decided to buy car insurance from you , I rang you to find out more information about your different insurance policies. I tried to ring 3 times and each time the phone was engaged. I rang again on the 8th oct At the second attempt I got through to you. I was treated very good by the Lady that answered the phone.
I’ve been insured with 1st Central for three years without issue. However, today I attempted to change the vehicle on my policy and was told I needed to call them directly. During the call, I was informed that a review of my documents back in January revealed additional convictions, which apparently increased my premium by £471.17.
The most frustrating part is that I had no communication from 1st Central about this at any point over the past 10 months. My policy is due to renew at the end of this month, and this was the first I heard of it. I was also told that unless I pay the outstanding amount, I won’t be able to change my vehicle.
I’ve now raised a formal complaint, as I would have been willing to pay the increased premium monthly if I had been properly informed. Strangely, just hours after submitting my complaint, I received an email stating that my policy would be cancelled if I didn’t pay the £471.17 within 7 days.
It’s deeply concerning that the only communication I received was after I raised a complaint. I never thought I’d be warning others about this company, but based on this experience, I would now advise people to steer clear of 1st Central.
The website itself is easy to follow with step by step clear instructions
"I'm extremely disappointed with 1st Central's customer service. As a 2-year customer, I expected better. When I tried to renew my policy this year, the experience was marred by rudeness and poor communication. I hope they improve their service standards."
