My husband Alan bought a BMW X5 from Bavarian BMW, and it has been an absolute nightmare ever since. The vehicle has required constant repairs and major component replacements since purchase.
Major failures include:
• Rear suspension replaced three times
• Air suspension compressor failure
• Transfer case replacement
• Steering rack replacement
• Multiple rocker cover oil leaks
• Complete AdBlue system replacement
• Full exhaust system (including catalytic converter)
• Blocked pipe causing spluttering
• All driveshafts replaced
• Drive system failure
• Eco Pro motor failure
• Engine and gearbox mounts replaced
• And it’s still leaking oil 😭
The car has been off the road for weeks at a time, and the dealer has added over 2,000 miles during “road tests.” This was sold as an Approved Used BMW, yet it has suffered more faults than any car we’ve ever owned.
Never again.
Very friendly. They kept us informed during the day.
Al in all it was a good experience.
Owen was extremely helpful from start to finish, excellent customer service!
Customer is always right attitude if it’s not exactly clear who is .
My car always seems better than it had been before it needed work carried out on it.
Work carried out in good time and explanation given about state of car. Coffee also offered very quickly which was a bonus.
I’ve had 5 great years with my xc60 t8 inscription pro. It is a beautiful car almost Bentley like interior and drives a dream. Nothing has gone wrong except the hybrid system which has been very unreliable and inefficient. Begs the question for anyone considering stumping up the substantial extra cash for a t8 variant - is it worth it? In my experience definitely not. In 2021 the car refused to take a charge it was repaired under warranty took (4 months for the part to arrive). 3 months ago the same thing car would not charge. £150 diagnostic to tell me the onboard charging unit and a few fuses needed replaced £1800. I asked if this was the issue that happened in 2021 and was told it related to different parts. Really, how many components are there between the plug and the battery? Volvo’s advice a very unsympathetic drive it on petrol. Kind of defeats the purpose of hybrid, robs you of 80 horsepower and the engine only returns very low 20’s mpg.
The hybrid back in 2019 was marketed as returning 25 miles on a charge. In practice from the outset I never got more than 22 and before it imploded was more like 18/19.
So my car has gone through the charging components it was supplied with, the 2021 replacements and now needs another £2000 intervention.
So, for me at least the T8 cost over £6000 more than the petrol only car, never returned the expected miles per charge and the charging components have failed and need replaced 3 times in just over 5 years and at the price quoted isn’t economical to repair. Would I do it again might do because when it worked it worked really well. I think Volvo could have acknowledged the failure of the hybrid system more responsibly but there you go. If you are thinking about shelling out over £65k for one maybe my real life experience will help you do so with your eyes open and with knowledge of the potential weaknesses.
The staff are very professional, friendly and welcoming, from the moment I entered. My car was in to get work done and they kept me updated on the progress.
Excellent service from start to finish.
Excellent service from all the staff and vehicle dealt with quickly. Thank you
Brendan sorted the car repair work in an efficient and professional manner.
I have just purchased a car in approved used card in Mercedes Benz Belfast. I was genuinely pleased by my purchase experience! The sales personnel looked after me extremely well and made the purchase experience smooth and professional at all times,
Everything went smoothly- I was looked after well and kept informed of time line what was being done what needed done and arrangements suitable for a return appointment to have additional work carried out. I received a very informative video showing exactly what was wrong and what was needed.
Bought a BMW X5 from Bavarian BMW for £40,000, sold as Approved Used. The ownership experience has been dreadful — I’ve spent around £35,000–£40,000 on genuine BMW repairs since purchase.
Major faults have included:
• Rear suspension replaced three times
• Air suspension compressor failure
• Transfer case replacement (£8k)
• Steering rack replacement
• Three rocker cover oil leaks
• Complete AdBlue system replacement
• Full exhaust system (catalytic converter)
• All driveshafts replaced
• Drive system failure
• Eco Pro motor failure
• Engine and gearbox mounts replaced
• Ongoing oil leak
The car has been off the road for more than a month, with over 2,000 miles added by the dealer during “testing.”
Given the type and repetition of these mechanical issues — especially suspension and drivetrain failures — I now have serious doubts about the car’s condition before sale. It’s entirely possible that it had undisclosed accident or structural damage. I’ve even had to submit a Subject Access Request to access repair records and internal notes.
I was seen as soon as I arrived, gave the details of the car i was looking for and was shown options straight away. After picking the car I wanted the sales man helped me with every step of purchasing the car. I was made to feel welcome and was very satisfied with the service. Sam showed me how to set up the car to get everything i wanted out of it, adjusting the seats, setting up music driving modes etc.

Jonathan was the most welcoming and genuine sales man I have dealt with over the years. He explained everything in great detail ensured my husband and I had a test drive the same day and was great craic! Look forward to receiving my new car from him.
