I recently received notification that my Secure Trust fixed account was nearing the end of its term. I was offered a new rate that was unbeatable, so I made an internal transfer to a the new account. Could not have been easier and I was kept informed throughout the process.
Excellent - nice and easy to open the account- was recommended through a friend who uses the company. Keep up the good work.
When I moved from the EU to the UK a couple of years ago, STB was amongst the first banks to welcome me as their customer. When I had to renew my fixed term ISA they asked me for additional documents proving my identity and address. I was a bit surprised as an existing customer, but quite happy to provide the information (it is in their T&C that they can ask for it anytime). I was, however, shocked when I read their list of acceptable ID's: only a UK passport or UK drivers license and some exotic variants (Fire Arms certificate, HM forces ID card and a Northern Ireland Electoral ID). No EU passport accepted. Why did they accept my EU passport the first time? A question still to be answered.
I filed a complaint about the sudden (in anticipation of recent political developments?) discrimination against Non-UK Citizens. The Secure Trust Bank complaints department conveniently rephrased the wording to "Customer unhappy with additional verification checks". Then in their verdict, no surprise, they claimed to be compliant with every imaginable regulation and code of conduct and declared my complaint inadmissible.
They left me no choice than to transfer my ISA to another UK bank.
Well organised and helpful in establishing the best accounts to open.

The App was very user friendly and it was easy to deposit or take money out of the account. The only reason I closed my account is the drop in interest I was receiving

I couldn’t access my internet banking & was locked out. On phoning I was told that my membership ID, which I’ve been using for years, was wrong & given a new one. Of course, I thought this could be a scam. I asked for an explanation, they couldn’t give me any so I await the explanation I have requested after lodging a complaint……

I have been banking with Secure Trust bank for several years now -having had a number of different saving accounts with them. I always am able to get through to someone on the phone and find their customer service second to none. They are always helpful, and thoughtful at suggesting products which offer a higher interest rate. I would def. recommend them to anyone considering opening a new account.
