⚠️ Buyer protection is just a sham
⚠️ Buyer protection is just a sham – never received the item, no help
I bought several items on Vinted. There were problems with three of them – despite the alleged buyer protection, I received no help:
🔹 1. Undelivered pants:
I never received the item, even though it was supposedly delivered to the pickup location. I went there several times – nothing arrived.
I wanted to report the incident, but the "I have a problem" field wasn't technically visible. Vinted refused to help, citing a 48-hour rule – even though I did everything correctly.
🔹 2. Pants with a strong chemical/mildew odor:
The item smelled so bad when opened that it was unwearable. I reported it immediately. Nevertheless, I'm supposed to pay for the return shipping myself, even though it's more expensive than the item itself. The seller was uncooperative.
Bad: I can't rate it because Vinted blocks the rating field after reporting the problem – so other buyers can't be warned.
🔹 3. T-shirt with a hole:
Defective item – reported, on time. Here too: Vinted wants me to pay for the return shipping myself, even though there is a clear defect.
➡️ Conclusion:
Buyer protection doesn't work reliably; support only provides automated standard messages. I was always polite, factual, and on time – but I was let down.
I advise everyone to be careful with Vinted – especially when ordering multiple items.
I have now reported the cases to the consumer protection agency.
Be friendly
no seller fee, you can upload as many Dotos per item as you want, and fast processing.

I love to sell via Vinted because I can upload everything really easily. The shipment and payment methods are easy and secure, too.
Friendly people on vinted
Dont put all countrys together
Im from Germany and i dont Like that there are people who selling things from different countrys. Its hard to understand and make so much trouble. There should be a function that lets you choose where the items come from, so that only items located within a radius you select are displayed.
Make the sales fee cheaper
Make the sales fee cheaper and make it local option please.
I used to love Vinted because it felt…
I used to love Vinted because it felt local, sustainable, and easy to use. But now I constantly see listings from France, the Netherlands, or even Italy, even though I’m in Germany and only want to buy within the country.
There’s no option to filter by seller location, which makes no sense if you're trying to reduce shipping and carbon emissions. Buying secondhand should be good for the environment, but what’s the point if an item travels across Europe just to get to me?
This feels like Vinted prioritizing profit and international expansion over what made the app special in the first place. I just want to support local sellers and get items quickly and affordably. Please bring back a “country-only” filter, or at least give us the choice.
Disappointed by the Lack of Professionalism from Vinted
I downloaded Vinted recently and was genuinely excited to start selling my secondhand clothes. I spent hours preparing listings, took my own photos, priced things fairly, and even reported scammers who messaged me asking for off-platform deals.
Then, out of nowhere - my account was permanently blocked. No warning. No real explanation. Just a vague message claiming I violated the terms and a few weeks later a message saying I failed to submit “requested photos.” But I was never asked for photos. And to this day, I have no idea which rule I supposedly broke.
I’ve sent multiple respectful messages to support, offered to provide anything they need, and even attached screenshots showing that no such request was ever made. They read my messages… and never replied. It’s now been a month.
I understand the need to protect the platform. But a scammer wouldn’t wait for a month, continually trying to prove they’re legitimate. I’ve done everything I could to cooperate - and I’ve received silence.
If Vinted sees this: I’m still open to resolving this. But the lack of communication has been incredibly disappointing — and honestly, disheartening. I wasn’t looking to cause trouble. I just wanted to be part of something sustainable and positive. I still do.
frei erfundene Unterstellungen und anscheinend AI generierte "Kommunikation"
Unfortunately I didn't check all the desastrous reviews here when I opened an account on Vinted to sell some items. Shortly after I put 4 adverts online, the first enquiries came in. I didn't even get round to replying, then suddenly one by one the messages disappeared from my Vinted inbox, and about 2 hours after opening the account my inbox was empty and Vinted informed me that I was permanently (‘for life’) banned, the reasons being
"a Vinted member has reported your Vinted account for inappropriate behaviour that violates our TOS and Community Standards.
Your behaviour was reported for one or more of the following reasons:
* Disrespectful behaviour in the forum or in private messages.
* Inappropriate, provocative or unwelcome comments about other members' appearance or offerings in feedback or private messages."
Needless to say, this is fictitious, especially since I very obviously didn't even get the chance to interact with potential buyers! But Vinted refuse to provide any evidence and to comment further. I was just informed that the decision to delete my account was final.
I then used the online form to officially enter a caveat and objecting to the arbitrary and unsubstantiated permanent blocking of my account, and I urged Vinted to finally carry out the announced examination of the facts and not to work with ‘automatically’ generated statements again.
As a result, the same allegations were presented again after a minimal period of time (I assume it was again an AI generated email).
This was then repeated twice, since then Vinted is blocking my emails, still without providing evidence for the offences alleged against me (which was of course also impossible, because absolutely none of them actually happened).
This behaviour in unacceptable - albeit in line with the myriads of negative feedback here. If Vinted were a company in Germany, I would take legal action against the libel and slander.
Addendum: I asked Vinted to delete my personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and to confirm the deletion. Vinted replied that they would not do this and would continue to store my personal data in their systems indefinitely. The reason given was once again the alleged offences I had committed. I'll now bring this to the attention of the respective EU Data Protection Supervisor who will hopefully initiate legal action against this company.
Over all good
Over all good, the only problem is that I see offer from another countries which is not very productive. I want to chose function to see only offers from Germany and Holland
Vinted victimizes its users!!!
I sold a product via Vinted and Vinted created a shipping label to send it via DPD. I've put the package to a DPD pack station on 30th of May, 2025. However, it's status has never changed and it hasn't been delivered to the buyer. When I talked with DPD, they didn't help me and directed me to Vinted as they were responsible about that. However, when I talked with Vinted, they just said that they didn't do anything for me and they would cancel the transaction to release the money for the buyer. I trusted Vinted and sent my package via them but they didn't feel responsibility. I suffered losses because of them. A platform that does not stand behind its users and does not feel any responsibility. I NEVER RECOMMEND IT.
Great App for selling your old clothes!
It is very easy to use
Within some days I was able to sell various clothes :)
Dear Vinted Support,
Dear Vinted Support,
I paid to feature my items, but after two days, they still have no views. It seems the service isn’t working as expected. Could you please check this and let me know what can be done?
Thank you,
Niimulaas
I never thought I’d be punished for…
I never thought I’d be punished for doing the right thing. I purchased branded clothing via Vinted and paid using PayPal. What I received turned out to be high-quality counterfeits (including from Chevignon, U.S. Polo Assn., and Ted Lapidus).
I immediately did what a responsible buyer should do:
I contacted the brands. Chevignon officially confirmed the product was not authentic.
I opened a buyer protection case with PayPal.
I filed a criminal complaint with the German police (Ref: 250520-1730-014799) and informed customs authorities (Zoll).
The response?
Instead of protecting the buyer, Vinted suspended my account—not the counterfeit seller’s. No explanation, no due process. Just a silent punishment, which raises serious legal questions under EU Regulation 2019/1150, which prohibits platforms from retaliating against users for asserting their rights.
As for PayPal, their solution was worse: they instructed me to return the fake items to an unverified third-party address in the Netherlands, which is completely unrelated to the French address on the original shipping label. This return location appears to be a redirection warehouse — possibly a way to destroy the evidence before police and customs can complete their investigation.
I refused — because under §§ 94–98 of German criminal procedure, these goods are evidence. Returning them to an unknown address could mean obstruction of justice. I documented everything and sent full reports to:
BaFin (financial regulator)
EU Consumer Centre
Chevignon headquarters
German police and customs
And now, the public.
I want people to know:
Vinted’s buyer protection is a sham. If you report fraud, you risk being silenced.
PayPal contradicts its own policies and may help hide evidence when counterfeiting is exposed.
There is no accountability, unless you escalate through legal channels — which most users cannot afford or manage.
I am currently demanding legal answers, brand compensation, and public disclosure. I stand by the truth — and I’m not afraid to defend it.
To all honest buyers and sellers out there: think twice before trusting platforms that protect fake sellers more than real customers.

The customer support is unhelpful and rude.
I just asked for the tracking number because it wasn’t update in the app and they requested me to complete a form saying the package is lost. I told them this is not the case, I just need the tracking number. 2 days later I got a message, you didn’t complete the form, we can’t help you with this order anymore, and the order was marked as delivered and completed
Very bad return policies
Someone sent me the wrong clothing (probably by mistake) and did not answer to my messages.
Vinted told me I can send it back but I have to cover the shipping costs even if is was the sellers mistake.
This makes no sense!!!
