The 85% 1 star reviews should tell you all you need to know. The online account management is useless. I have been looking at changing cars so been attempting to get quotes via the replace car section. They will provide a quote on a 155mph mercedes e350 but not on the same model car with less horsepower and worth less. It makes absolutely no sense. Probably because it'll be cheaper than im currently paying so they aren't intrested. I can't wait until December when my insurance is up so I can move back to a normal company. Don't worry peoples choice, I've turned off auto renewal.

Car insurance renewal came through, £30 cheaper than last year. Quick pop onto Compare the Market and found a new policy for £308 (nearly £230 cheaper than renewal). Called People's Choice to tell them not to auto renew. After a couple of 'fact finding' questions from them, they came back with a NEW renewal price of £320. Its an absolute disgrace that they can miraculously find another £200 down the back of the sofa to bring the renewal down even further.
FYI, nothing changed re personal situation, job, car or anything.

Thieves broke into our house through a fan light window when we were asleep. A small fan light window was left partially open to allow some fresh air in during a hot night. Now a month later they have rejected the claim as, although their engineer states the window was jemmied, it was not a forced or violent entry. Absolute cowboys avoid at all costs

I strongly advise everyone to stay away from People’s Choice car insurance (underwritten by Hastings Direct). My experience with them has been nothing short of shocking and feels like a complete scam.
I paid monthly for over 7 months on a policy for my BMW 1 Series, covering 208 days, and when I chose to cancel, I was hit with an outrageous “outstanding balance” of £298.73. This was on top of the £643.13 I’d already paid.
What’s worse:
• I was told there was no cancellation fee, yet I’m being charged as if I completed the full policy term.
• They’ve added £75+ in interest, despite cancelling early.
• “Extras” and so-called fees that were never clearly explained are now non-refundable.
• I was left with no clear breakdown, just an unjust demand for more money.
This is not how reputable insurers operate. I’ve had car insurance with other companies and never been treated like this. The way People’s Choice structures their payments and hides cancellation costs is incredibly misleading.
I have now filed a formal complaint and will be taking this further with the Financial Ombudsman Service.
DO NOT trust this company. They appear cheap at first but will rinse you if you try to leave. Learn from my mistake — choose a provider that’s upfront and fair.

Your reply or excuse for your companies actions are written as if i am the fraudulent person here and it is my fault that i did not know of all the hoops you would put in place , you have obviously not read the review as your reply is just template.
This i guess is why you get such bad reviews and i have no wish to spend more time on your business, if you wish to make a mends then refund the ridicules charge made for cancelling the so called policy!!!

Unisng USwitch comparison site I dilligently answered all questions accurately and provided all the information requested.
I chose a quote from Peoples Choice and proceeded to 'Buy with Insurer'.
I provided EXACTLY the same details to the Insurer and their price was 30%+ more.

Worse insurers ive ever used!! Took out a policy well in advance due to good price and 5 star defaqto rating. Poor decision on my behalf. After 2 weeks they send me an email stating they needed more details and I had to spend half an hour taking photos of my car from every angle with my license in. After sending this in, a week later they informed me they had noticed an upgraded front grill, unbeknown to me and were charging me £13 extra but also a £30 admin fee. I told them to cancel the policy there and then and for that they charged me £20. Then due to the proximity to my expiry date my new policy with aviva was now £200 more! Absolute scammers and scummy company. Hastings you should be really disappointed!!

Leaving 1 star as I can't leave less. For the first time in 12 years of driving, someone crashed into me. I was told on the phone by an advisor that I did not have to pay the excess, only for them to tell me a week later I did. I got a manager on the case who listened to the call, and 'could only apologise'. I had to pay £500 excess and they gave me £20 to say sorry. Things only got worse.
The claim happened in November, it is currently June and it has not been closed.
I got my renewal document through (in which the price had increased £600 - because someone drove into me!), but more to the point, my 12 years no claims discount has been taken down by EIGHT years. I rang up twice about this, spoke to the claims team who were always nice English women, but they then passed to African women on both occasions to 'assist me'. These women were two of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. They told me that they only count 9 years. Online in the policy details it says "If you need to make a claim, insurers will usually take off two of your no claims discount years at renewal, but you won't lose the rest." I read this word for word to the advisor who stumbled on her words and did not really know what to say. She was extremely rude and unhelpful, and the fact they can deduct EIGHT years of your no claims discount for someone else driving in to you is criminal. My claim is still open, and is currently with solicitors. I really do not recommend this company. Reducing someone's no claims discount when they weren't at fault by 8 years is sickening.

Put up our premiums by 50% even though we had made no claims. Make it really difficult to stop the auto renewal - you have to call them to stop it. Found comparable insurance for half what they quoted. A complete rip off, avoid.

Do not use this insurance as they have a lot of hidden fees that they would happily charge you even before your policy would start. They would give you the best price on the market and a week later they would start querying the details that they have received from their broker. They find the discrepancies and then send you the additional charge. And if you don't you agree, they would charge you a £20 arrangement fee, £45 cancellation fee, £30 amendment fee etc etc etc. But the time you finish paying their fees you will probably owe them more money than you have actually paid for the policy originally. It reminds me of the Phonejacker Tv series when guy would call someone with a very good deal but then there would be a lot of fees to pay if you even want to cancel. I have a really disgusting feeling after dealing with them and if you do not want the same then please AVOID these SCAMMERS at all cost.
