It was a pleasure chatting with JH7 (Joshua) earlier today when I queried the difference between the premium we agreed on GoCompare and the larger amount emailed to us in the Policy Schedule.
Joshua explained the figures, although we are yet to receive the 'Welcome Letter' which he said would confirm the prior amount.

Utterly impossible to speak to anyone on the telephone about my insurance. I called the number provided on a letter they sent to me (there were no numbers I could find on the website) but none of the options provided related to discussing my insurance policy. It may be a great way to make them more profit bt it is very user unfriendly.
Terrible Insurer
My car was in an accident and was a write off so I had to cancel my insurance policy, I couldn't talk to anyone on the phone or cancel through the portal. So I had to talk through a live chat. They charged me extra for cancelling policy that I was forced out of, then still wanted the next months direct debit even after an extra cancelation fee. Absolute terrible service and the extra fee's are terrible
Received an email stating an undeclared…
Received an email stating an undeclared risk on my policy and that theee would be an additional premium plus £42.50 admin charge. I’m convinced I declared the previous escape of water from boiler and suspicious that this is a tactic of one protect as I’ve seen a few other reviews stating the same. Anyway spoke with JH7 on chat and he resolved the matter quickly, explaining there would be only an additional £15 charge to add the apparent undeclared previous escape of water to my policy. I was ok with this but whole situation makes me nervous about the company and will be keeping a close eye on my account for any additional sneaky charges.

I'm responding to a request from this broker to give a review on my experience so far. My insurance hasn't started yet.
Positives
1. Easy to set up;
2. cheap;
3. chat line service answered quickly and didn't charge for my initial mistake in the application questions;
4. The policy has a low excess and promises so much in terms of benefits.
Hopefully my experience will be as positive if I need to make a claim.

In all my years of having motor insurance i have not once been asked to provide a document to say how many years NCB i have. This is after i took out the motor insurance policy.

Long winded communication
Asked to provide evidence of no claims bonus, with no facility to e-mail straight back. Spent ages waiting on the call chat (18th in queue), and advised quickly how to submit. As password protected, I then had to use chat again and was asked if I wanted to increase my policy to include a courtesy car which was already included in my policy, only then to be told only if available (or words to that effect, as I didn't request transcript).

From the moment I spoke to the associate they were able to sort the issue with a payment. They were quick with the response. TJ1 was the associate I spoke with and was really helpful.
Initially a good price but with a catch
Both my previous car insurance companies, Privilege and Aviva had bumped their prices up the last two years.
I found OneProtect via a comparison site and was pleased with the price quoted. I registered and paid on the 3rd November for the policy to start on 1st December.
All done I assumed.
Today, the 9th December I have received two letters from them claiming I misrepresented the application by claiming I had 13 years no claims and so they’re amending my policy to 8 years and asking for another £101 taking their price to more than the previous AVIVA policy which I cancelled!
I don’t recall entering 13 years at all. Something perhaps defaulted? I don’t know. I have owned my current car for 8 years and never made a claim. In fact I have NEVER made an insurance accident claim in over fifty years of driving both privately and company cars. I consider myself to be a safe drive!
I have yet to tackle OneProtect about this but having read other reviews it sounds like communication with them can be challenging!
