Aviva cancelled an insurance policy because my GP got my condition wrong. When corrected they still would not reinstate. They had taken fright and that was that.
I will never touch Aviva with a bargepole again, they are scammers. Avoid Aviva. Flee ! Speak to them not !

My car was hit whilst parked back in December 2023 ,long story short my car was sent to Solus ,the appalling repair company owned by Aviva .During the repairs I encountered problem after problem.Each time my car came back it had more problems than it went in with .My car was scratched ,the door handle was loose ,it ,came back filthy.Solus towed my car away to fix these problems .Upon getting my car back the sound system ,sensors and airbag lights came back on ( which Solus repaired after the accident ) when they dropped It back off to me ,without me being able to check my car over .It had to be took to Jeep who said Solus had inadvertantly damaged a component upon investigation.All the warning lights came back in in August 2025.I rang Aviva on 27/ 08/2025 who promised they would send out an independent engineer to access my car .I heard nothing ,emailed Aviva customer care twice and never got a response ,sent a complaint to Aviva ,who never responded until I kept chasing them up .They promised to assign someone to my complaint ,I heard nothing so had to chase it up over and over again .Today I had an email stating my complaint would not be upheld .If Aviva had stuck to their promise of sending out an independent engineer I would have had no cause to complain .Their repairs are guaranteed for three years ,this is within that time frame .They simply will not accept liability whatsoever .Another point with Aviva ,I asked whether windscreen repairs had to be declared to my new insurer ,their response was 'Absolutely not ' ,one advisor even laughed and stated 'I live on a country lane and if I declared all my windscreen claims nobody would insure me ' .All calls are recorded Aviva ,if I had listened to your advisors my car insurance would be invalid as yes ,you do have to declare any windscreen claims to insurers .I will be taking this further as you have failed me in every way possible .Complaint number CER/1587091/25.

I rang after they switched my email upon request but left me with an empty account and no documents. I rang up to sort it out after jumping through hoops on an ai chat and eventually finding a number via chatgpt! It was so loud; there are youngsters taking the calls and also having conversations in the background to the point you can't hear. I was sent a password reset that worked once, now I have the same issue again. I now can't take out insurance I need for tomorrow. How ridiculous that you can't change your email without so many issues and inconvenience

Their customer support chat is rubbish, I had to start again about 5 times before it worked properly. They also wouldn't accept my proof of no claims, stating it did not clearly display the number even though it does. Not a great start from a big name insurer... Hopefully I won't need to contact them again before my policy ends as I can't imagine it would be easy or straightforward.

Had to read everything carefully on line including sometimes twice. Found it difficult going up and down to double check everything. After thinking I had completed and agreed to payment found two days later that somehow the payment hadn't been completed and had to go through it again

I used Confused.com to check out car insurance. Having weighed up the pros and cons of a number of policies, some of which were from the same insurer but offering slightly different cover, Aviva won the day, and some £80 cheaper than my renewal quote following a migration from Sainsburys to LV.

Payment is apparently amde, but no acknowledgment of it was made. Could not quickly get through on chatbot or phone. Eventually a chat agent suggested I call MoneySuperMarket for advice. No-one answers the calls, its an automated sytem that directs you to tsend them an email for hem to investigate.!!!
