I tried to get a new phone with Mozillion, which is offering great deals on new iPhones, as my iPhone has just given up. Anyway, after spending time filling in my details on the original site and agreeing to the phone contract, I was diverted to Affirm's website to fill in more details. It was at this point that I was told that Affirm wanted to charge 30% APR on top of the price offered. This is really unusual for a phone contract and a lot of interest. Suffice to say I went elsewhere for a similar deal on another network that didn't work with a third-party company like Affirm, and where the price advertised is the one you pay.

You better keep a direct eye on affirm cause I have few transactions from “amazon” that i dont find on amazon.
Not sure Affirm follows what happens on amazon, if you have any return or cancellation.
They still take the money.

I don't know everyone else experience with affirm..I have no problem with the company I have two loans active and paid off 3 of them I'm very happy with the service
I liked Affirms service. Would recommend Affirm to any of my friend’s or anyone who asks me.
horrible customer service do t waste your time with them. I have a dispute that I resolved with the merchant and instead of clearing the account they kept it in dispute and mailed me a check in an attempt to force me to pay interest at 30 percent. I have reported to BBB and calling my attorney General tomorrow about this practice.
In response to thier response i guess the 3 phones calls i made dont count as reaching out as far as they are concerned as well as the constant robotic email response from Edward through thier portal. God forbid they actually call me and ask me directly not like it's a credit card and they have all my info. Instead they try to save face by telling me to email again after the several formats of contact I have already made. 1 star stays

Affirm is harassing me over a payment of $34 only, for an item which I already returned to Amazon. It's a non-communication between Affirm and Amazon, not my fault. Their help page is showing "Not Secured". I think this is a scam and people should stay off this. They are constantly sending me emails and calling me, also marking my loan as 'delinquent'!!

Worst supposed financial institution ever. As a financial advisor I am seeking to have licensing action taken against them through the proper regulatory agencies: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
State financial regulators
FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for deceptive practices. This is because they recently took my money on a transaction and when I received a product that was not what I was promised, it burned me and it hurt me and I sent them pictures of the damage where they could see along with filing a report, and please understand that this is something that happened over a month ago and I’m still experiencing pain as a result of this product. They sent me first a notification saying that it would take them 30 days to resolve it and this was after I had emailed them at the email address that they say to reach them as you can see they list in a previous reply, multiple times. then I found a phone number and I called them. When I called them what I found was that I was speaking to someone in a boiler room filled with people who were speaking probably in various languages loudly so that the person who I was talking to was even more difficult to understand and they did not speak English very well, and they definitely did not understand me. Super frustrating was that they kept reading the same words to me over and over again that they had apparently been given a list of things to say, and they didn’t even particularly relate to what I was saying to them. For example, if you can imagine you tell someone this product doesn’t work and I wanna initiate a return and refund and the response back to you is just “glad you called Affirm and we hope that you’re having a good day.” You can imagine how frustrating that would be. then I got after the 30 day notice I got at the end of 30 days, which just happened, an email from them saying that they needed another 60 days to resolve it. Then I got an email from them threatening to turn me into the credit reporting agency if I didn’t let them keep the money because I opened a dispute with my bank at that point. I’m not real sure if that’s legally extortion because I’m not an attorney. I am a financial advisor though and because of that I am going to look at what is going on that the company is being allowed to handle financial aspects of purchases here in the United States and doesn’t actually offer any way to communicate with them and I don’t think that they’re here in the United States. I think there should be some banking laws and rules that would control this kind of thing. It’s funny because I jumped on opening an account with Chime when they opened up and I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences with them and communication and they’re wonderful and they’re lovely and I just felt like it was a really a modern approach to banking and I didn’t have anything like that because I have the first and the second largest banks in the country and they’re good and stable and I love them, and I wanted to check out something that was with the new modern banking stuff online so I got a chime account. And I’ve been so very impressed with them that I don’t think I would’ve been as open to this Shop/affirm thing, which I think there may be the same company, which I don’t know if I really had much choice the first time it just referred me to them when I was checking out buying something and now I’m going to be really really discriminating and letting companies know that these companies are not good and telling them to come and read the reviews and maybe we can help them find other ways to handle their shipping and handle their payments which would benefit all of us because this is a shady company.

I tried to set up an account but I used my new married name is not my maiden name at the time. It took a few times to resolve but I was able to apply again. When I did I got to the point of needing an email sent to be but it was going to a different email that wasn't mine. Brought this to their attention multiple times and still never resolved so I don't know if someone is using my Information. I was told I would be contacted but haven't been

I paid double payments on my account. One on Oct 2nd and Oct 3rd. Once I noticed my error, I called customer service. A gentleman told me both payments were processing to call back on 10/09. Long story short they are not going to refund my money back or even apply it to the next month.

I’m beyond disappointed and frustrated with Affirm when I lost my job I was honest and reached out to let them know about my situation. I didn’t learn from my responsibilities. I communicate stay patient and as soon as I got back on my feet, I caught up on every single payment now that I’ve done everything right I can’t even use my account to shop anywhere. It feels like I’m being punished for falling on hard times, even though I made things right, I work hard to rebuild to get back stable in Affirm still shut me out people go through real life situations and it’s unfair that a company that’s supposed to help build trust in opportunity, can’t show the same understanding in return affirm needs to do better with customers who take responsibility and bounce back.

So I have been an affirm customer for years and generally have had nothing but good experiences with using the platform up until recently where I generated a pay in 4 virtual card for $951 to be used at Menards who is a supported merchant on their platform. The initial down-payment of the pay in 4 plan went through, however, when I tried to place the order on the menards website the transaction ended up being declined and for me to contact the card issuer to resolve. I thought it was odd so went to cancel the card which disappeared from the app and spun up another one for the same amount, where the down payment went through but the transaction got declined. We'll when I went to go cancel the cards which you are typically able to do, the app said it cannot due to the merchant still processing the order which can take a few days. I called to try to get this addressed with affirm customer service and was met with a standard talk track of they cannot void or cancel the loans as the merchant is still processing the order which can take up to 3 weeks before it gets voided and 7-10 days to refund me the $476 they charged to my card as a down payment which means they get a interest free loan for almost 30 days while i get stuck with a bill for an item I dont have. I have called multiple times to get this resolved and got the same response even getting up to a manager who echoed the same thing. I told them that I got written confirmation from a representative at menards saying the transactions/order did not go through and that the funds were released immediately back to the card issuer which could take a couple days to process. I offered to provide this but their customer service refused to accept it and said if that is true then the loan will auto void in 3 to 5 business days, if not 21 days. This has been upsetting as usually they are pretty good at resolving issues but it seems due to the amount they want to hold my money hostage for a month. Use at your own risk. Update: 10/8/25. Reached out to customer service email as recommended with situation, again no help. Instead situation apparently made worse as they're saying the merchant cutoff is 12/31/25 so the funds could be held longer than 30 days...really bad experience, support is no help.

On Aug 26th I was a victim of fraud on my Affirm account. I called Affirm and they froze my account and told me they would investigate, which they did. They found there was fraud and told me I would be able to get back into my account in 10-20 days. They took really good care of that part of it, however, It is now Oct 7 and I cannot get into my account. I have sent them my information multiple times to verify its me. Every time I call they ask for more information and sent an email for me to scan my face to them. I know I need to make payments but I still cannot get a statement to view my loans. They tell me I have to go to the App or go online but my account is STILL locked. I called and asked a supervisor if they could email me a statement. They said they didn't know if they could. I am paying on loans without knowing what I really owe, my payment dates or anything else. I am trying to make sure this does not affect my credit, but I was told that I still have to pay and if I am late it will go on my credit report but I can't even see my statement. It is very frustrating. I just got off the phone with them again and they told me it would be another 10-20 days and I can't get a statement of my account!!!
UPDATE: I have now scanned my face twice and sent pics of my ID TWICE and I still have no resolution! I want my STATEMENT!!!!!

In June 2025, I used Affirm, Inc. to finance a purchase from an online company called bmiMD.com, which falsely represented itself as a legitimate telemedicine pharmacy. The site sold me a product called “Sermorelin Peptides,” claiming a doctor would prescribe it after a video consultation. That consultation never took place, and the “doctor” turned out to be a pre-recorded video, not a real medical provider.
After discovering the product was mislabeled, misrepresented, and likely illegal under FDA rules, I requested a refund and my bank reversed the charge. However, Affirm refused to acknowledge the reversal, closed my dispute in favor of the fraudulent merchant, and continued to report the account as active to the credit bureaus.
Despite providing evidence of the refund and proof that the product violated FDA and telemedicine standards, Affirm ignored my documentation and left damaging credit entries on my reports. I have filed complaints with both the CFPB and the Virginia Attorney General regarding Affirm’s handling of this matter.
Consumers should be aware that Affirm’s dispute process offers little protection when fraud is involved, even when clear evidence is provided.

I’ve been dealing with Affirm since 2021. I’ve had over 180 loans through them having paid off over 150 loans. Always paid on time or was a month ahead of time. They’ve made a lot of money off of me and I appreciate their help in buying things. 99% of the things in my room was bought using Affirm. Recently I had to file for bankruptcy, it was either file for bankruptcy or become homeless. So I filed for chapter 7. I’m doing better now and I tried to use Affirm and they won’t help me anymore. I have to say that is not very empathetic at all. I didn’t choose to file bankruptcy I had to file for bankruptcy. I think it is stupid for Affirm to deny me since I’ve had excellent credit with them for years. The 3 stars is because they helped me before. Minus 2 stars making it 3 stars is the heartless of the company. Update. 10/06/25 After the pathetic response Affirm gave me here, which has nothing to do with my review, I change to a one star. Like I said. Horrible company. I hope people stop using them and they go bankrupt, like I had to file bankruptcy. Maybe after they lose their company and jobs they will be more empathetic to other people in the future. Heartless company, and stupid for that matter. I've paid off over 150 loans with them, 150 loans, and just because I filed bankruptcy they won't accept me anymore. That is the most stupid thing I ever heard of.

I needed to use my credit card to consolidate my affirm loans and couldn’t. They don’t make this clear when you take a loan so this has added extra stress on me and my finances. Up until this I would have given them a 5 star rating.

The amount one can spend called “purchasing power” is a joke. I have been paying monthly payments even before time, have paid off many and never late. My purchasing power has been all over the place. For 2 solid months it’s been ZERO. It makes ZERO sense. Not worth it.
