The tour was great
The tour was really great and our tour guide Gaia was very knowledgeable (she's a local) and shared many local food options as well. I really enjoyed this tour overall and would recommend it.

Don’t miss this tour!
This tour was one of the best things we did during our stay in Florence! Marco was so fun and hilarious, and the food and drinks were great. An amazing way to get to know the city and try some classic fare. Would highly recommend booking this tour!

Probably luck of the draw
Everyone seemed to have a great experience with them who I spoke to except me… they asked us to show up at 945, our tour guide showed up at 10. Why did we have to wait 15 minutes for nothing? Then she just took us to the regular louvre line where we wasted another 25 minutes in line. The line was half when we go there, they should’ve just told us to stand in line. We started the tour around 1035, kids half energy was already drained by then. Honestly was very annoyed by the end as we wasted another 30 minutes at Mona Lisa. I think they can do better for the price.

We're truly sorry to hear that your Louvre experience did not meet your expectations, Zara, especially since you heard others had a great time with us. It’s definitely not the smooth start we aim for, and we sincerely apologize for the delay you experienced.
You are right to point out the time wasted waiting for the guide and then waiting in the standard line. While we ask travelers to arrive early so we can gather the group and distribute tickets efficiently, a 15-minute wait for the guide is simply unacceptable, and we own that mistake. Furthermore, the ability to bypass major lines is a key value of The Tour Guy, and if you ended up waiting for 25 minutes, we dropped the ball on managing the entry process efficiently. We never want to see your kids' energy drained before the actual experience even begins. We are sorry that this series of events detracted from what should have been a great museum visit.
We've already brought this specific event and timing issue to the attention of our Paris Operations Manager. They are addressing the punctuality with our guiding team and reinforcing our best practices for minimizing wait times, especially at high-volume entry points like the Louvre.

From Dome, Basilica, Vatican Museum to just museum
So we initially booked the dome and Vatican museums tour which was indicated to be a five hour long tour. A couple of months prior to our tour, we received an email that the dome will be unavailable and we still confirmed our visit. Our tour was originally set for 7:15am but because of this closure, it was moved to 11am. Now we were told that we would still go to the basilica although the dome was closed; however, when we went to the tour, the vatican museum tour was so rushed and completed in three hours (given that it was packed) but they didn’t even take us to the basilica. They only “directed” us so we were lost and having to re go through long lines twice. Also, the dome was open in the end.
The itinerary was originally:
-the dome
-basilica
-Vatican museum
With the dome closure, the updated ternary was:
-Vatican museum
-basilica
In the end, we got:
-Vatican museum
That’s it. A rushed one at that and we were lost in the end and wasted the rest of the day. I would never book with them again.

We understand how frustrating it is when the itinerary changes, especially the adjustment from 7:15 AM to 11:00 AM due to the initial news about the Dome. We want to offer context on the situation without making excuses: the major itinerary modifications, including the unexpected and frustrating last-minute changes you experienced, were unfortunately due to necessary security and logistical shifts directly related to the 2025 Jubilee Year. These frequent, unavoidable changes across Vatican City were just as frustrating for our team as they were for you. While the Vatican Museums portion was ultimately delivered, we hear you loud and clear that it felt rushed and that the essential visit to the St. Peter's Basilica was not properly facilitated. We are glad that you were still able to enjoy seeing the Vatican Museums, even if the pace was faster than ideal due to the high volume of visitors that day.
We dropped the ball in ensuring the proper direction and access to the Basilica after the Museums portion. We never want a traveler to feel lost or like they wasted part of their precious day. Please know that we immediately discussed this specific series of events with our Rome Operations Manager and the guiding team to understand why the Basilica portion was missed and why the self-guided directions were inadequate. We are reinforcing the proper handover procedures, especially on tours that experience unexpected itinerary changes, to ensure our guests are always properly escorted or given crystal-clear instructions for the next steps.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with this company from start to finish! It was such a relief to have scheduled with the right company for such a special international trip, where we were hoping we made the right decision. Our driver, Gianluca was very prompt and so polite and accommodating. He kept in communication prior to and throughout our tour, and he was so patient and helpful throughout the entire day. We never felt rushed and he was so kind. He got us to every location safely and on time, and the vehicle was very clean and comfortable. Even water bottles were thoughtfully provided for us in the back seat. He opened our doors and held umbrellas for us, and he drove safely to each location. A true professional. Our tour guide, Paola, was incredible! She was so friendly and charismatic, and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much from her at each stop and she also made the best recommendations. As well educated as she is personable and fun, she was such a wonderful person to spend the day with. She spoke perfect English as well which was so helpful for us! We felt so blessed and fortunate to have her as our tour guide! Both Gianluca and Paola were so kind to our family and daughters and went out of their way to help us make our tour day run smoothly for us. It was raining all day which could have prevented our tour day that we were so looking forward to, but they made sure to do everything they could to make it enjoyable and make it happen for us! They timed the tour perfectly, ensuring we made it back in time to our port as well. Paola had our tickets printed and ready for us at each stop, prepared us for security protocols and any restrictions so we were never frantic or unprepared. With her as our tour guide we walked right past the long lines. Amazing! She took family photos for us, recommended a restaurant for lunch, and even allowed time for a souvenir shop. It was incredible to be able to experience so much within a few hours, and it was only possible because of Paola and Gianluca from the Tour Guy. They took the stress and confusion out of traveling for the day and allowed us to experience and make memories. If you want to enjoy your vacation, experience Rome with intention, and save yourself the stress… Book book book! They are the best!
