Please please do not trust this company or there approved supplier mysedgwick for your home emergency insurance, boiler stopped working engineer came out said needed parts,next working day i had to chase Policy expert to find out what was happeneing to be told im not covered for the part thats broken on Policy experts sheets of whats covered and what isnt this part isnt listed, but when you dive deeper into the small print it is, plus every part within the boiler isnt covered so basically your home emergency cover is pointless, this company needs to be more tansparent and accountable from the outset, just another customer who has been duped by an insurance company

Charged for having a baby
I've been charged £28.93 for having a baby! I contacted them to advise that we had a baby and needed to add them as an occupier. I was told that I needed to log in and make an adjustment for which there would be a £15 fee, despite them doing absolutely nothing. I had to do it all myself. I was told if I didn't then my policy would be void. When I did log in there was also an additional premium, apparently a 4 week old baby significantly increases the risk (seems unlikely really and just a scam to get more money mid-term).
So a total of nearly £30 for absolutely nothing. Apparently it is legal and buried in the terms and conditions, it's just really scummy. We've been with policy expert for years but certainly won't be renewing

Appalling customer service
Policy Expert hsve asked for more details. I have been with them for 2 years with renewal on 5 January I. I said i was leaving the country on 25 February. I wanted to pay for that period but they wanted a cancellation fee. Utterly ridiculous considering the notice i have given and the reason.
Ihave had a completely opposite experience with this company. I have been with them for two years with no claims and it is to be renewed in January. I am moving overseas end February so I asked if I could pay until that date. They want to charge me a cancellation fee? Why? We don't have a contract? Their customer service doesn't answer that question and just keep repeating the cost of cancellation. I have told them not to renew my policy on that basis. This is appalling and disgusting behaviour.

Not worth the email they send you
Not worth the email they send you. The glass in my patio door cracked through thermal expansion. Complete accident . But because someone didn't smash it , They wont cover us . Never use them again and definitely wouldn't recommend

An accessible and comprehensive service for insurance
The policy was easy to access and I was given a good choice from which to choose. An efficient, professional service which is reasonably priced. Renewal was very easy too.
Attic Fitted Solar System - Covered
Had some queries regarding our policy cover in terms of the Solar panels,inverter and battery already fitted within the property. All my queries and concerns answered and sorted out quickly, with clear information / guidance.
Very happy knowing that I am fully covered for our current system that is fitted in our attic, should some disaster strike.
When you need help this lot are as useful as a Chocolate Fire Guard
3 days before I was due to go on holiday I had a major electrical failure in my house. I initially thought this was a result of water getting in to the property during a major storm. The mains electric board where the power enters the house blew up filling the area with acrid smoke. It left me with no power, so no heating, lighting or way of making food. I telephoned the company and spent ages with some kid in a call centre facing the equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition trying to get help. I was eventually told that a Surveyor would contact me within 7 days to assess the damage. He seemed to be quite happy to leave me there in the cold and dark to fend for myself and my family.
I set about trying to solve the problem myself. I called my local electrician who came to my aid. He examine the problem and decided that we needed to contact Scottish Power, the mains supplier. They came out and decided that the problem was due to wiring of theirs from the 1960s and a small amount of water that that had got into the building which would not have affected modern wiring. They then sent out a team to dig up my driveway and fit a new connection to the mains, finishing at 11pm at night!
In the meantime a local roofer came and made the building watertight. All work was completed by the time Scottish Power left, having also repaired my drive. My electrician came back the next day to check that the power was OK to the rest of the house. Luckily, everything was fine except for my freezer, which although it has power, decided to pack in.
The help given to a 74 year old pensioner, in an hour of need ,by this company was as much use as a chocolate fire guard! They are purely internet focused, their agents appear to have little knowledge of people's problems, especially the elderly and I have decided that although I will be out of pocket for the electrician, the roofer and the freezer and it's contents that the hassle of trying to deal with this lot far outweighs the cost. Unless you are a wizz with a computer and under 40 avoid this company the stress is not worth it.
