I sorted my car insurance through comparthemeerkat.com with Go-Skippy car insurance, who were the cheapest quote. I was not online very long and the whole thing was done including paying the deposit... See more

If quotes are this difficult hate to thing what would happen if you had to claim
I completed a quote using a comparison site and go Skippy came back with the cheapest quote. Was out through to their website and filled all relevant sections . Their system did not like my bank details so was asked to call to verify identity. After waiting along time on the phone was put through to a customer service rep who said he would try to verify ended up been cut off. Called back through again and when answered explained to customer service what happened. The lady said I would have to pay an extra £20 as I was taking out policy over phone. I pointed out this was not acceptable as it was due to an issue with their system and they had asked me to ring. I use my car for business, not for carrying for hire and reward, but I do travel to other premises to teach and assess students. I had selected business cover, but the lady when going through the options said this only covers for travel to one permanent place of business and does not cover carrying passengers. I asked her to clarify this, as to me that would be commuting. As I work at my home address the majority of the time, I don't commute. I also asked her to clarify what if I was car sharing for no reward or taking my partner on a business trip with me socially would they be covered as a passenger, to which the answer was no. So unless you read the small print or ring you would find out business cover selected is basically only commuting, and heaven forbid you should have an accident, and you are at fault, your passengers wouldn't be covered. Needless to say I didn't take cover with them. By this time I had been sat for an hour after deciding to buy a new car, and went to the next company on the list and paid by card. To my annoyance I have just had the confirmation email to find Vavista is part of the same company, so it looks like more telephone calls tomorrow
GoSkippy upped my premium tho it's a non fault claim via a third party 😞
Mmmmm...where do I begin?
Firstly, their prices are competitive and offer good cover.
Phoning them can be a lengthy process,so be patient.
My recent experience with GoSkippy has been a bit confusing and bewildering at times.
Recently I was unfortunate to be involved in a non fault accident.
I decided to use a third party company to handle the claim so as not to affect or lose my several years no claims bonus(and pay higher premiums).
Anyway, after repeated phone calls and emails to both GoSkippy and the company handling my claim (some of the emails from GoSkippy were quite firm, direct and almost condescending).
I've sent dashcam footage, photos ect,to GoSkippy and Somerset Bridge insurance at their somewhat direct request.
I was warned several times for not informing them sooner ,but I assumed that the third party group/company handling my claim would do that on my behalf...which they had and in good time I was informed.
Despite the accident (not a major one)being a non fault claim as agreed by both GoSkippy, Somerset Bridge ltd and the third party/company handling my claim currently....my premium has gone up from what it was prior to the accident and by quite a bit 😕
I feel that's unfair and unjustified as this isn't directly affecting GoSkippy or Somerset Bridge ltd( as their own representatives admitted to me on the phone)because the third party company I'm using is handling the claim and any costs.
Technically this should have no bearing on my insurance premiums or no claims discount bonus.
Unfortunately...my premium with GoSkippy has gone up over £130 from the agreed price I had with them prior to this accident.
I actually like GoSkippy and what they offer, hence the reason I've renewed my car insurance with them, but I feel that the price I've payed is a tad unjustified on this occasion.
I'd still recommend GoSkippy though simply because they offer competitive prices and good value car insurance.
P.S.
Big shout out for Blessing who works in South Africa for GoSkippy.
Really nice person who tried his best to get a good deal for me.

They now want 2 months payment on the first month when that has never been the case. I asked if that was for a future month and was told no it was for the previous month (that I have already paid for). Phoned them today to state I wasn’t going to renew and the man said why? I said I just want to as I have found a new company (to make things easier) and he said no you need a reason. - why do I need a reason of where I am putting my money! I have been with them for 5 years and they do not have any customer loyalty.

Very competitive insurance and a very easy system to upgrade and add extras to your policy. It’s was very clear and easy to use and the prices for the extras on your policy was absolutely fantastic, it made the policy increase by a few pounds for a full fledged policy. I will definitely recommend skippy, I was very impressed from start to finish. This policy was for my husband and son.
Good service and pain free application.
I found Skippy Insurance via comparison web site. Everything was easy and straightforward. I obtained the insurance and immediately received all paperwork needed. Very pleased.

Never buy car insurance from Go Skippy
I had a car insurance with this company for a year. Never make a claim.
They provided me a NCD certificate which is fine but two wrong information about previous incident ; documented as I am at fault. Which was wrong and my previous admiral insurance already mentioned in their NCD that I am at non fault.
They are lingering appropriate department will handle this.
This is a complete nuisance ; this is not my fault. Go skippy provided wrong info and not correcting the certificate. They should know, I have to submit it to another insurance.
Terrible company
Terrible company. Charged me £75 to cancel my policy and still took the next payment of £54 after it was cancelled. I rang up and customer advisor was rude and dismissive. Told me I work not be refunded despite the fact I never signed the agreement. Avoid!! Pay the extra and get a genuine insurance company,
Very straight forward and easy to do.

I contacted go skippy on Monday to have my windscreen replaced as I’m fully comprehensive, I was transferred to a windscreen company who arranged it for today. When no one turned up I contacted go skippy who said they had no record of it, the windscreen company said they had no record either? And their attitude was kind of so what as well! I would like a visit rearranging for free if someone could contact me please!! Good job it wasn’t an accident claim or anything because they aren’t very good to deal with! Just be aware!
