Terrible service and quality
I bought a washing machine just 6 months ago, and it has already broken. When I contacted them, I was told the issue was due to "accidental damage" and therefore not covered under the guarantee. No clear definition was given for what they consider accidental damage, and when I challenged the engineer, he had no answers.
To make matters worse, they charge £160 for a call-out fee if they decide it’s accidental damage – and surprise, after just 2 minutes, they concluded it was accidental damage with zero proof!
Absolutely disgraceful service and a complete lack of accountability. The build quality is awful. Save yourself the stress and money – spend a little more on a brand that values its customers and provides a proper guarantee.
Aftercare Service from Candy – Highly Impressed!
I bought a Candy washing machine in late July 2024, and nearly a year later (early July 2025), it developed a small leak. I contacted their service team and was genuinely impressed by how smoothly everything was handled.
I received a text the night before the scheduled visit with a clear two-hour time slot, and the engineer arrived right on time. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. He quickly identified the source of the leak, showed me exactly what the issue was, and fixed it there and then without any fuss.
As a bonus, he even gave me some helpful tips on how to prevent that awful black mould that often appears in the detergent drawer – advice I really appreciated.
It’s so refreshing to see a company stand by their products with such reliable and courteous aftercare. Excellent service from start to finish – thank you, Candy!
Candy Smart Pro 8KG only 6 months life…
Candy Smart Pro 8KG only 6 months life - stopped working after 6 months. Is it possible to get a new machine or a refund. I hate the fact that they might do a visit, replace every part and it still won't work properly and the warranty will be out.
This is third Candy Heat pump tumble…
This is third Candy Heat pump tumble dryer in 2 years. They seem to stop working in less than a year or so and just stop sending water to the reservoir. ( Compressor goes bad according to engineer) Prior to this we had 2 Hotpoint Heat pump tumble dryers which had same issue. So now were at 5 units albeit i think they are all the same underneath. We get new units with our warranty but its become a real hassle as these are built in units so not that easy to install as these are same model but not same size for door fittings which is odd. All we can do now is wait for somebody like Bosch to build a heat pump Built in unit but until then were in this endless loop of misery
We purchased a candy washing machine in…
We purchased a candy washing machine in 2023 and it’s been used for 18 months its been used 3 times a week. I have taken out an insurance for 12 months at £19.99 to have it repaired. The bearings have gone and it’s being repaired which is a complete strip down of the machine. If I realised what a big job this was I would have purchased a new one. The fitter was very professional but then informed me I have to get fid of the drum.
Candy Washing Machine Nightmare
We bought a Candy Washing Machine before Christmas and already the rubber seal has split. We booked an engineer to come fix it it took 5 days for this. It was booked in between 11 and 1 on a Saturday and he appeared 8 minutes to 1!
He had a look at it and turns out they ordered the wrong part now we have to wait a week for a repair! We have two disabled kids who get changed multiple times a day this is my worst nightmare!
HOOVER CANDY can’t procure its own parts!
HOOVER CANDY haven’t been able to repair or get the necessary parts to repair my new but non-working fridge freezer.
The repair guy originally misdiagnosed the issue and on his second visit said he needed parts to repair our new fridge freezer.
Two weeks on HC are unable to procure the necessary parts, unwilling and unable to give a timeframe, unwilling and unable to provide a replacement, unwilling and unable to do a proper job
Faulty new fridge, no parts, no repair
Don’t buy HC
My nine month old washer dryer no…
My nine month old washer dryer no longer spins. I. Contacted candy service but they would do nothing to help me because although l could tell them when it was purchased and registered with them l couldn't show them the receipt. My husband had the receipt on his phone but he died a few weeks ago and his phone went missing in the hospital. They were totally uncaring and basically couldn't have cared less. I was very upset. During this difficult time l have had to deal with many organisations and companies they were all so kind and helpful except for Candy. I will never buy another Candy product again. If it was possible l would give them no stars. Heartless service.
Cracking condensor bottles
We have had a Candy Condensor Dryer for the last 2 years - mechanically sound - the critical issue is the number of condensor water containers (clear plastic/hangs on door)we've been through. They keep cracking - we've been through 5 or 6 in 18 months or so - £30 a pop each time, so have spent nearly the same amount of money on plastic containers as the original cost of the dryer. There is a design flaw in the bottles - don't but a Candy or Hoover condensor dryer with the clear plastic door mounted bottles - flawed and an utter pain...
I would have given no stars if it was…
I would have given no stars if it was possible. Called customer services over a faulty item and Paul on the other end of the phone was most unhelpful. Called through to AO where we purchased the appliance and was given FIVE STAR service.
The worst company I've ever dealt with
The worst company I've ever dealt with, we've been without a washing machine for a month now while they give us the runaround on our spare part. Eventually they said we just have to buy a new machine, having told us on multiple occasions that our part is in transit.
Three month old dishwasher faulty.
Three month old dishwasher faulty.
Firstly got told we have to upgrade and pay for better warranty before anyone could come out to see the faulty dishwasher....
Then engineer found the fault, and ordered part for this, was told it would take one week....
Now four weeks later, still waiting for someone to get in touch!! We try calling but nothing happens...
Do yourself a favour, and don't buy this brand there after sale service is shocking!!
Absolutely disgusting customer service
Absolutely disgusting customer service. I work with a vulnerable adult who has complex health needs he was supported to buy a new washing machine 14 months ago which is completely broken. The repair insurance was taken out and when the repair guy came he said it had been over filled (two towels and a dressing gown) and it needed a part which would take about a week to come. Have just received a text to say that his repair appointment time is between 6.39am and 8.39am. I went on to the chat to explain that due to my clients health needs a 6.39am appointment would mean he would have to get out of bed at 4.39am to be ready for a visit two hours later. No help or sympathy whatsoever from customer services all they could offer to do was cancel his appointment to god only knows when
Candy fridge freezer CCH1S513EWK, only one shelf
There is only one shelf. You need to message Candy to get the link to purchase one and it will cost approximately £60. The fridge freezer seems like good value until you factor in the additional cost for a shelf.
Also the shelf in the door is very narrow and will only hold a large milk container if placed sideways.
My fault for not reading the reviews about the shelf - if I had then I would have purchased a different fridge freezer.
I purchased it from Argos and their service was excellent.
Worst washing machine
Bought the Candy washing machine in 2023, it's not worked properly. Have had 5/6 engineers out in 2 years & still the same problem. Keeps moving, jumping out! Am now finally getting rid of it. Do not buy it
"waiting on parts" forever......
6 month old washer , faulty door latch. they sent a guy around to look at it. he said he would be back with parts . 3 weeks later they are still "waiting on parts" its taking the piss. i could get the parts myself and have them delivered the next day. its intentional sludge . institutionalised and weaponised incompetence put in place to dissuade people from claiming on there warrants,
Issue in Candy products due to poor quality materials
The base material used in Candy products seems to be not good. We used a candy washing machine from Aug 2022 to Dec 2024 and within 2 years the body frame got rusted due to an internal leak from detergent compartment and the machine became not usable (due to high noise, vibration and non steadiness). Hence, based on my experience I would not recommend users to buy this product and end up in similar situation, until they use good quality materials for internals.
If I could give no stars that’s what I…
If I could give no stars that’s what I would give. Tumble dryer bought in March 2024 completely unusable by May 2025. Customer service non existent with a response of “sorry your product is out of warranty”.
Incredibly disappointed and actually quite angry.
3 year old washing machine main board…
3 year old washing machine main board failed making it an economical write off , crap build quality , wouldn't by anything from Candy again.
Fire hazard.
We had a candy tumble dryer. It caught fire whilst plugged in but the programme was off. The company treated us despicably. It burnt through our kitchen and the company took no responsibility. This has happened to others, there are reports available online. All we asked for was the initial cost of the machine as we claimed through our house insurance for everything else - the emails I've received, and kept, told me I should have claimed off our house insurance for the dryer. No assistance whatsoever. I am taking it further. We were lucky we were alerted to the fire - be aware before buying.
