Abysmal product and worse service
I see I'm not the only one disgusted with Dyson's products and "customer care" which is an oxymoron. Almost two years ago I bought a Dyson Gen5Detect which broke after several months. Despite my describing the problem they sent me a new battery which did nothing. Eventually they replaced the whole vacuum but the head broke almost immediately. They then claimed to have sent me another new vacuum, but it never arrived. When I panned their service in the Customer Satisfaction Survey they contacted me to say they pride themselves on customer service - that's a joke. By this time the part was no longer made so they promised to send a newer model, that was 8 months ago. Calling their service line is an exercise in frustration since it's in India and they have a script that is guaranteed to keep you on line for an hour, after which they've put you on hold numerous times, only to find that nothing can be done. If you're thinkiing of buying a Dyson, put your money in a pile and burn it, at least you'll get some warmth for a few seconds.
I would expect better from a big company…
What an appalling excuse for “customer service” Dyson have. From being told my payment isn’t processed because it is an issue with my financial institution to being told that the payment will process once the order is ready to ship. Not to mention I was told my account didn’t exist when I was literally logged into it staring at my order on the screen. The issue wasn’t entirely resolved but I was tired of repeating myself and having to provide the exact same information that I had given 5 minutes prior. I was told to just wait for my order, which I will some more. But if I’m not provided with updates on shipping within the next few days then I’ll be cancelling. There is absolutely no way I want to have to go through that level of poor customer service again. Absolutely terrible service, stay far away!!
Can we do negative rating?
Can we do negative rating? I just spent 40 minutes going nowhere with a customer service rep to not be able to order a product because they have a bug in their checkout process that hasnt been solved in a week although we're in the middle of black Friday...
It takes ages to get an answer and even if you get one, it will just be a waste of time as you won't get what you ask for in the end.
I purchased a Dyson hair dryer which…
I purchased a Dyson hair dryer which was quite expensive at 800$. Within 6 months it started flashing it was not working. I was told to send it for repairs, which I did. They sent it back to me still broken! With no explanation! What a waste of time.
Worst customer experience – lost package, denied help, and no accountability
I have had the most frustrating experience with Dyson and I will never order from them again.
I never received my original order or the replacement order. Both packages were marked as “delivered,” but I did not receive anything. I provided Dyson with all the information I had, including a police report, and asked them to look into the issue seriously.
Instead of helping, Dyson kept repeating the same script that Purolator showed a “proof of delivery.” The signatures on the POD do not match mine, and I clearly told them that, but they refused to investigate further. They denied a refund, denied another replacement, and basically blamed me for a delivery failure that was completely outside my control.
I expected a premium company like Dyson to stand behind their customers, but they were unwilling to take any responsibility or even escalate the case properly. Their customer service is slow, unhelpful, and extremely disappointing.
After this experience, I will never purchase from Dyson again.
If your package goes missing, don’t expect Dyson to support you. You’re on your own.
$1,300 Vacuum Breaks in 2 Months — Dyson Won’t Refund Past 30 Days
I purchased a Dyson Gen5 Outsize Absolute directly from Dyson at the end of July 2025 for over $1,300. Within about two months, the motorhead stopped working completely. I contacted Dyson immediately and followed all warranty steps, including sending in the faulty vacuum.
It’s now November, and I’ve been without a working vacuum for nearly two months. I’ve contacted Dyson over 10 times through chat and phone. Their representatives are polite but give pre-generated responses that are super patronizing, with no clear solution or timeline.
Since my claim began, the Gen5 Outsize has come back in stock twice, yet it goes out of stock again before I receive a replacement. Dyson will not automatically send one when available. Instead, they tell me to wait for an email, then contact them again, with no guaranteed timeframe. They have also admitted that new customers are prioritized over existing ones with defective units, which is unfair. I was offered a different model with poor reviews, which I declined.
To make things worse, the upholstery cleaner’s felt brush peeled halfway off the first time I used it, showing poor build quality. A vacuum should not fail within two months, and Dyson should not refuse a refund when a premium product clearly doesn’t hold up.
Dyson advertises a “15-day turnaround,” but that isn’t true. Their 30-day refund policy leaves customers stranded when a product fails soon after that period. I spent over $1,300, used it briefly, and now have no vacuum or refund options.
I simply want a refund so I can repurchase the same model from Walmart.ca or Best Buy, where it’s currently in stock and available immediately—or an immediate replacement of the same model I originally purchased.
Desired Resolution:
Full refund, or
Immediate replacement of the Dyson Gen5 Outsize Absolute.
Two Dyson V15s, same defect — no real solution offered
I purchased a Dyson V15 Detect for over $1,000, and less than two years later, it stopped working. Dyson replaced it once, but the replacement now has the exact same problem. Despite acknowledging the initial defect, Dyson refuses free repair or replacement, claiming the issue isn’t a manufacturing defect, and expects me to pay $400+tax for a part that’s out of stock. For a premium product, this is unacceptable. Consumers deserve durable products and honest support. #Dyson #ConsumerRights #QuebecLaw
Big time run around from customer service
Called Dyson as my vacuum is still under warranty. They don't have my needed part with no ETA. So I said I want a new unit then. It's under warranty and you have no idea when my part is coming. "oh actually we do have the part , you'll get it in 2-10 business days" 2 wks later I still never received . Why you ask ? My order was cancelled ! Without anyone telling me. Been waiting and waiting but they cancelled . why? They actually don't have the part.... hmmmmm ok. I want a new vacuum then as originally asked for. " sure, we don't have it tho. Call us in a week." Such a bloody run around !
Surprisingly bad customer service
I’ve always loved Dyson products and own several, but this experience was a huge letdown. I bought a $1000 vacuum from Canadian Tire, and it broke after just two uses. Dealing with Dyson support was frustrating — three calls and over an hour later, they still wouldn’t process a return. Thankfully, Canadian Tire stepped up and exchanged it, even though they didn’t have to. Dyson, take notes.
Bought a new Dyson v15 in May 2024
Bought a new Dyson v15 in May 2024. Currently not working (cutting out after 2 seconds) so I’ve been emailing back and forth trying to figure out next steps since it’s still well covered under my REAL warranty. Once I sent them my proof of purchase invoice, stating I bought it in May 2024, they sent me back an email falsely saying I bought my Dyson in late October 2023, which would make my supposed “warranty” expire in a week. Ever since receiving this email from them, I have been ignored. Suspiciously, it’s been two weeks with no response to several of my emails (they were very responsive before sending purchase invoice), I assume they will only respond when my “warranty” is expired and deem any replacement parts not eligible under warranty. This is completely fraudulent. To say I am angry and disappointed is an understatement. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
Customer service lets down the company
They do at least have customer service, but when I have contacted them three times about our latest vacuum (we have many Dyson products), there was such a language barrier with the foreign call centre, that I gave up in the end. And the product, while it has excellent suction, has nooks in the head that mean that when swapping tools, dust comes out on the floor etc. I can't believe this wasn't picked up in beta testing. I think my loyalty to Dyson is finally over.
DYSON QUALITY AND SERVICE IS AWFUL
If you’re considering Dyson – save yourself the headache. Their products die prematurely, long before you get your money’s worth. The Dyson Chinook store is a complete disaster – hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Staff are dismissive, unhelpful, and seem more interested in making excuses than actually solving problems.
And don’t even bother with the so-called Dyson repair shop – it’s a joke. It’s either closed when you go or impossible to reach, which makes it completely useless. So when your overpriced vacuum inevitably breaks, youre left with a dead machine and no support.
Dyson loves to market themselves as “premium,” but the reality is cheaply made products backed by appalling service. Avoid at all costs.
Limited Lifespan - NO REPAIRS- NO BATTERY replacements
While I was happy paying the price for having good looking hair, the time came where the batteries need it replacement. NOBODY is UAE, Dyson shop, jumbo electronics helped, they said to me is time for an upgrade. While the device is cordless, if the battery life is below a level, you cannot use the device plugged…as will always switch off. On my opinion is not worth to invest soo much in a device that you cannot use use it only for few years!
Manufacturers should find solutions, this is not a disposable device, with shelf life. I really want to change those batteries and I don’t have an option!
Check out process and deceptive offers for discounts
I went online to purchase a "Dyson V16 Piston Animal Absolute + Dok cordless vacuum"
The website offered me a 10% discount if I agreed to receive text promotions, so I agreed and received the discount code to apply at checkout.
During checkout, I applied the code and the site told me the code was "successfully applied" However, the total didn't reflect the discount. I called them and was told that it only applies to older products but not this one.,
Nowhere on the website or at anytime did they inform of this. A lot of time wasted and frustration due to what is clearly a deceptive business practice.
I didn't buy the item and they lost a sale over $1,000, and a future customer as I have no confidence in the integrity of this outfit. Thanks for reading.
Buyer be ware
Bought a dyson vacum for $1349.00 plus tax's. Wasn't worth the money. Customer Service was very poor and seem like who every you talk with was program or was reading a script. Endless hr on the phone lot of frustration and most of all time waste. The same as the money so buyer be ware not a happy camper. Thank you Wally
Do not buy a Dyson Supersonic Hair…
Do not buy a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.
Tried for 3 days to get the hair dryer serviced under warranty. Each time over 30 minutes. I think the person on my chat was answering several people at the same time because there would be 5-7 minute break between replies. Finally received the return label. Called Purolator to pick up. Noticed that the return and deliver to were BOTH my home address. Got back on with Dyson Canada. 22 minutes later (after being in queue) finally received a new label with the correct return address. Had to reschedule purolator pick up. This whole thing took almost 2 hours of my time over 3 days to use my warranty. The on/off switch was intermittent. I do not recommend Dyson.
Purchased Dyson from Amazon Ca
Purchased Dyson from Amazon Ca. Tried to register machine, Dyson site would not accept serial number. Uploaded photo of serial number and photo of receipt from Amazon and engaged in 2 lengthy online chats. Still no verification of the machine for warranty. Now have 2 case numbers. Nobody seems to know anything.
Dyson cyclone v10
Dyson cyclone v10. Had the unit for less than 24 hours the red ring broke off the first time we tried to empty it. Initially customer service told me it was my fault for mistreating it, and they were not gonna cover it under the warranty until I told him that I wanted to return the machine in that case Then “let me talk to my supervisor” and he came back and said they would cover it. Cheap badly made parts and who needs to start their day with an argument and time wasted at some stupid call centre.
Typical Canadian Incompetence
A typically incompetent Canadian company with even worse customer service. Do yourself a favour and steer clear.
