Posted job and got several replies quickly. Tradesman came out within a couple of days and completed the job to a good standard. Would highly recommend this site.

The whole team at Scott's were excellent, great overall experience, the whole process was stress free. They were the best quote we received and all work was completed in a day, and at a high standard. Highly recommended.

I've had a terrible experience with Rated People. It's honestly one of the worst platforms I've ever used to match clients with trades people. The leads are completely irrelevant, and the Rated Peoples claims about their success rates are outright lies. They take your money and then do nothing to support you. Customer service is unhelpful and dismissive. Overall, it's a complete scam, and I would strongly advise any tradesman to stay far away

I had problems logging into my account in order to delete it. but failed so many times. I tried in many occasions to contact their support channels, but they are a total nonsense as you are answered almost all times but their bot “Fin” even in their email.

I am trying to delete my account and it is impossible to do so.

I strongly do not recommend it for either private or professional clients.

A great job done by Lenny very friendly honest hardworking skilled tradesman. Gave me a price and a date to do the job and turned up on time with everything needed to do the job. Thank you. I recommend Lenny to anyone.

Ashley from PB Plumbing and Drainage is a charlatan. He has charged me £700 for a blocked sink and left more damage including a leaking sink, he cut a huge whole in the back of my kitchen units and I still have the initial problem I requested a plumber for which was a blocked kitchen sink. Rated People should vet the tradesman on their site more closely before letting them loose on the general public. Very disappointed in the overall experience.

After being let down I am now happy I was - David from Parker Flooring turned up and from the very start to the completion of the work he was excellent - he talked me through what I wanted and completed the job to perfection - I will have to problem advising my family and friends to use him and we have another few things needing done and won't go by David

Mixed Experience
I've posted a few jobs on here & had mixed experience.
1.Straightforward Jobs such as Boiler Service and Electrical Certification - no problems. Tradesmen were fine and I got good service.
2.Stonework Repairs with defined Scope of Work - no interest except from a landscaper??
3.Bathroom Refurb - The Post was held so they could deliver "Priority list! Personal Touch". I had to call them.
4. Calling Landline - The No given is an AI Bot that seems to be set up for a different company called Builders Services or similar. It is a loop of questions that takes you back to start. Sort this ASAP!
5. Diary Booking - I booked an appointment to receive a call. No-one called.
6. Calling Mobile - The No given on the diary booking I rang after the no-show kept me on hold for 31 minutes then decided I would get a call back. I'm still waiting.
So maybe not so good for bigger jobs over £2k (Too many barriers and not a slick system).

I didn't check around different people. Was charged £130 for a 2 minute barrel change on a lock. Should have been £65.

I was impressed & had a positive impression about Darren (DMK Builders) right from arranging the date to do the repair. He was accommodating the quote very reasonable. When they came they were prompt & really pleasant. They got straight on with the job but all the while taking time to have a ‘brew’ & a laugh. When the repair was completed they cleaned up after themselves and I am confident of the work, so much so we’ve requested them to do another bigger job in the next few weeks. Would definitely recommend them.

I was a trades person, with Rated People for over 6 years. Had all 5 Star reviews. A year ago they scrapped the £24 a month fee that I paid ( which included credit to pay for leads) to £72 a month with unlimited access to job leads under £4000. The lead jobs were poor with most of my time wasted as the customers where unobtainable. Out of the leads that were suitable, the profit bairly covered the £72 fee. So I have cancelled my contract with them, which was hard to do, as there is zero customer service, I cancelled online via the chat service 3 times, I was never called back or emailed as promised. I cancelled through my bank to stop the monthly payment going through. As a trader, my advice is do not sign up with this company as they seem to be just in it for the money. As a customer, many do not realize that traders pay for the job leads, so if you are thinking or budgeting, traders will not waste there time.

I did not feel I received value for money. I was quoted £380 for what was probably 10 man hours work (2 x 5 hours). I asked him to do some additional removal of weeds and brambles, he quoted £280. I considered this excessive but agreed because having done the job myself previously it was prickly and painstaking taking out brambles and weeds from around some ground cover plants. To do the job he simply attacked the area with a petrol strimmer removing weeds, brambles AND the ground cover plants. Strimming and clearing up took 30 minutes, for a cost of £280. When I complained he had overcharged for what he had done he said it was a fixed price and he would not consider a reduction. I should have paid him what I considered was a fair price but paid what he asked BUT I have written a very critical review on Rated People to which he has objected.

I think my other reviews on Trust Pilot will show I am usually a fair reviewer. I do not expect perfection and recognise if a mistake is made but corrected with speed that is a sign of good service.

Harry was prompt in his response, clear in the work to be done, and conscientious in the carpentry work undertaken.
I would recommend him highly.

Reliable and quick service from the firm True fix services

Job booked with Zamir Mohammed for curtain installation for 2 to 4 pm on Friday 3/10/25. Messaged me at 3.58pm, advising that his morning job had over-run, and asking if he could rebook for next day Saturday 4/10 and to "please let him know". I messaged back ok but could it be pm. No response back or on Saturday, despite three messages to him, or since. Complete waste of my time, and a really poor experience for a first time client with Rated People.

Update today 7/10. Had a response from Rated People who advised that this is an introductory service between Customer and Operative who may respond. Nevertheless thanked me for bringing it to their attention, they take these situations seriously & will look into it. Was not the first poor review for this person,I noted. But he does also have some good reviews too.

I’ve been with rated for well over 6 years. Had very few issues, and when I did, they were sorted quickly. Unfortunately they have decided to press the self destruct button by introducing a monthly fee, which doesn’t work for me, and I’m guessing doesn’t work for most. I’ve tried to cancel and contact, but absolutely zero reply. I’m still owed money from credits I still had on my account, but can’t get in touch with anyone. This company has become a total joke!

A nightmare from start to finish. No support from Rated People. Had a nightmare tradesperson. Left an honest review for them and Rated people have removed it!! 3 other negative reviews also removed. I'm sure there are a lot of honest, trustworthy tradespeople on the site however my experience was not good. Tradespeople are favoured as they pay to be on there. Beware

Hired two guys through RP to do my decking, and have now had to get two new guys in to totally redo as the first two did such a bad job. It seems impossible to put a bad rating up unless it’s straight after the event. Which is dumb as problems don’t appear straight away.
The system seems to have no customer contact point beyond the usual AI-generated gatekeeper, so it’s impossible to speak to anyone to change a rating in order to warn others of dodgy builders.
As a customer facing business, it’s not very customer centric.

A fantastic pair - came to quote, they were very competitively priced and ended up doing the job there and then.
Excellent work, knowledgeable and tidy, and would highly recommend.
Will definitely be using them again.
