Worst delivery experience ever. I paid good money to deliver my parcel with insurance and their own packaging only for it to arrive in pieces! On top of that, they refuse to accept my insurance claim after providing pictures and videos showing their drivers’ terrible handling. Phone calls and emails to their customer service was met terribly rude and unhelpful responses and just being passed from one person to the other.
Don’t waste your money with this delivery service. There is a reason their rating is this rubbish.
Unacceptable behaviour of the driver for a wrong number on the address…
A mistake on the address no 4 instead of no 7 by the sender which is ok, it can happen. But the driver was absolutely rude. He insulted me as if it was my mistake for the wrong number on the address.It was not a big deal as it was just next door. He was not delayed at all as he had called me before reaching the place and I was waiting for him at the door and asked him to stop at door 7 instead of 4. I was in a hurry that he would just give me my documents and run away. I felt he was about to get off his van and continue insulting me. I had kindly thanked him for the delivery and walked away. But he insisted and continued shouting. I had very bad experience in the past with DHL and I thought of giving them a second chance. Never ever again. Please review the recruitment as I didn't feel safe at all and the driver's attitude is un acceptable.
French staff don't understand English
Having forgotten my laptop in the UK when visiting my mum, I used DHL to send it to my address in France. I rang for advice on how to complete the online procedure. I marked clearly as a reference that these were my personal effects purchased in France, as the customer service agent advised me to do. However, I have a request from DHL to pay €388 for duty. and since the the parcel has now been "dédouané", the duty must be paid to release the parcel. The error is totally theirs and the inability of their French staff to read and understand the reference written in English. DHL is an international company, they should ensure English language training for their staff. First and last time DHL customer.
Dumped package in a locker more than a hour away.
Didn't deliver when out for delivery, then dumped it in a locker more than an hour's drive away.
Package will be returned and refunded. DHL are lazy, incompetent company, and this has multiple times.

As happens often with DHL, the package was not picked up as scheduled. You wait from 9:00 – 15:00 without leaving your office and they don’t show or call even though you pay a premium for pick-up and next day delivery.
I then went to a DHL office to drop-off the package to assure next day delivery. I tried to bring up the subject of the package not being picked up and they said it was not their problem and didn't care. I said I was going to complain, they told me to go ahead and do it. “You can even have our names. No one will care.”
Then I asked if I could have confirmation of drop-off by email. The agent said, no. It is text or nothing and turned her back on me.

DHL lacks empathy

Dhl is shameful at this point. I got a parcel delivered . In all my experience I have never had goods delivered before without duty being collected upfront first . I got a call 3 days form an unknown number claiming to be DHl and I owe duty , I hung up thinking it’s a scam call but they called back again . I was shocked to learn I owed duty on the item delivered . I said why would you pay duty on my behalf and over charge me too … goods were £211 and dhl wanted £89 .. I said no … reduce it and I pay . I should have a choice to refuse delivery but what is being charged is extortionist. I spoke to 2 supervisors who promised to look into it. I spent time writing emails and staff telling me queries have been logged in and I would get a feedback . Today I got a text from collections and dhl had passed it to collections without treating my queries . All my calls and emails were in vain . Now the duty is £110 … I had no choice but to pay . DHL lacks any empathy or morals . Customers should have an option to refuse delivery . Imagine my disappointment over all my efforts . I am so upset . Terrible terrible terrible .
The collection agent Angela too pretended to care and just took my money.

Horrible experience
SATURDAY morning receive an email saying the package is on its way and will be delivered in the next two BUSINESS DAYS. Two hours later I received a notice saying a delivery attempt was made. Keep in mind it's still Saturday. Then 45 minutes after that I receive yet another email saying it will be available at a "relay point" and they will let me know where in 3 days. Unbelievable how bad this is.

Said would deliver at a precise time, waited in all day, then got a message saying they couldnt find address.
Now said they would deliver at a precise time, waited and waited, then gave up, opened front door and there is my parcel on the door step, we have a knocker and a doorbell USE IT

Scam
Every time I buy online and the carrier is DHL I pay 40% + in taxes and weird charges that are impossible to understand. I live in France, and they just charged me 204 euros in taxes for a 500 euro order from Otdoor and Country from England. They are the worst.
When I ordered Eric Javits hats form the US it was the same - and the order was frozen with no explanation for 2 months. They are just painful, please stop using DHL

Terrible service! They wrongly filled out the custom's papers so I had to pay extra for my personal affairs. The employee filled out the form without letting us know what he was writing nor asking us about what was in the package... DHL didn't take responsibility for their mistake.
Bullshit from stern to bow
Emailed me over and over again about a completely erroneous customs charge. When I responded to the email explaining that this was in error, the auto response was that I would be contacted ASAP. Never happened. As for their idea of tracking: "Scheduled to depart on the next planned movement". Well thanks a pant load. Incompetence and bullshit from stern to bow.
DHL announced twice a delivery and failed twice.
DHL announced twice a delivery and both times the drivers failed to deliver, first delivered while home and second delivery receiver was closed, on holidays while the delivery address was on my private address.
The drivers integrity is not there and as a delivery company I would check my loyalty and work atmosphere because this isn't any service.
The customer service was helpful but are tied with their hands. I would love to talk with the management to provide training to their drivers and show that lies harms the business.

Obviously they don’t care about the date and place of delivery. They just do what seems to be convenient to them (while most other companies seem to focus on actually delivering). 4th negative experience with them in a few months…. I wish my suppliers would propose another carrier.
