Disgraceful substandard service for a…
Disgraceful substandard service for a company I expected so much more from
Took policy out and pain in full, 5 days later requested further documents, obliged straight away and returned in prepaid envelope, 9 days after that received email to say they would cancel my policy, informing me I had not sent documents, contacted straightaway and told to send via email as back up, I did as requested, 5 days after that I hadn't received any information so rang to check, received documents but then requested documents for named driver or wanted £27 to take off policy, I declined this and requested to speak to manager, informed to wait 72 hours for call back, no customer complaints number, validation/underwriters declined to speak to me, the call handler very good and had solved the issue after 1.20hrs on phone for the underwriters to inform that she was unable to do so, currently at 1.50 mins on the phone and issue unresolved.
Saga website also informs no admin fee for policy changes.
Extremely unhappy and substandard service.

Easy and seamless process and their app works really well
People like dealing with people
This is very simple. People like dealing with people. When you are allowed to talk with an adviser the process not only goes faster but more importantly the customer feels he is getting what he wants. You as the provider also are able to Taylor and make sure your customer really understands what he is getting. Both parties should then be happy and the customer gets what he thinks he is paying for. Win Win.
AI in my experience is a nightmare where as online chats normally result in a satisfactory outcome for both parties.
If I could give them -10 I would
If I could give them -10 I would. They pray on the old and vulnerable by overcharging the elderly. Absolutely disgrace of a company. When I complained they said we would apply a loyalty discount, well why not do that in the first instance. After I rang on behalf of my elderly mother they cancelled the existing policy has hey presto the new policy was over £400 cheaper so go figure. Stay away from them if you are old and don’t have someone to act on your behalf
A wise company???
I was quite happy speaking with Saga. The lady I dealt with was relaxed and friendly - in fact pretty human.
However I was asked to fill in a review for my custom which was fine but I think, until I have had experience of being with them for at least a year or so, I cannot comment too much. Let’s face it most of us need motor insurance and somebody will sell it to us. Some of the questions asked in the survey were, I feel, pretty silly and unworthy of an answer. The more questions there were, the less I liked Saga.
So for a lot of people’s sake and experience, maybe ask a few questions and after 6 months or more ask another few. I am sure people will really like you for that!
Great price and cover for my car…
Great price and cover for my car insurance easy to set up and very quick
A truly helpful company
I have been with saga motor insurance for many years they are designed to look after the more matured driver of which I am one so I thank them for being so helpful as being older I need help with sorting these things out, never have I felt as if they want to rush me along always helping with a kind and helpful manner long may it carry on.
Service fine, but 42% increase to ‘3-yr’ premium annoying.
Insuring vehicle, with two ‘3-yr’ renewals, over the years satisfactory. No claim ever made so I can’t relate experience with that important factor.
Principal criticisms:
- infuriating ‘we are experiencing a high volume of calls’ (with attendant long delays) ALWAYS when calling them by phone. If it’s a permanent condition, why don’t they increase staffing?
- 42% increase to ‘3-yr’ premium (“It’s what our underwriters tell us”), despite no claims.
If you want to speak to a friendly helpful person and not a robot Saga is for you
You always get to speak to a person at saga no press a 100 buttons to speak to a computer. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and easy to understand. Their prices are not bad either. I have changed details twice on my policy at no extra charge. They also dealt with my claim when somebody smashed into my parked car. They did all the work and kept me informed. Very pleased with saga I have had 4 cars insured with them.

Saga treated me with resect nd sympathy for my problem, and quickly followed up with the help I needed.
Notified Saga change of address- policy declined! But price went up
I Notified Saga of my change of address (first move in 18yrs), doing the right thing. Then being told my policy has been DECLINED by Covea the underwriter, I wasn’t insured. But I needed to take out a new policy with the same underwriter but my premium has gone up! A Bulling tactic which I am extremely unhappy about and want to report!
Frustrating account set up.
Bought some annual Saga travel insurance online. On paying I was invited to create an account so i could view my documents online. I entered my email address, was told that an email had been sent to me with a link that I would have to click on to confirm my email address and complete my account set up. The email took 90 minutes to appear, but the link expired after 20 minutes so was completely useless. Tried again, same result. Hopeless system. Still have no access to my online documents.
very helpfull thank you
Why go anywhere else
So easy and straightforward to do insurance why go anywhere else
My experience was limited
My experience was limited. I wanted help with a legal query and I was passed on to a legal firm. So, very little actual contact with Saga
